This is as hometown Tennessee as you are gonna get. Real country folk that work there and homestyle cooking. If you come here don't expect anything and you'll be good. The floors are plywood, and they slope. There is no theme other than we are here to feed you. Food was delicious. Biscuits and gravy very good. Egg omelette tasty. Waffles made to order. Solid three stars Came at 5 pm and ordered several things. My kiddos got popcorn chicken and rated it a 2.5. Said it tasted ok but smelled bad. I ordered jalapeño poppers and a NY strip special. I give this place 3 stars. Only because my first experience wasn't the best . My husband and I was in town visiting his family. And we were searching breakfast near us. We came across this place and read the reviews and were stoked about trying it! We both ordered and received our food. It didn't even take mainly 10 mins which was awesome. Once we received our food I automatically noticed a huge black hair in my eggs. i highly recommend hair nets . And then when I tasted my grits, they were so hard! Which sucked because I wanted grits so bad (pregnancy cravings). The biscuits and gravy though were the BOMB!Overall my first experience was good. I love a good country place. I wouldn't have stopped here without Yelp! I had the plate lunch special which was meatloaf, potatoes like my grandmother used to make, and cornbread cooked on the griddle. My husband had the hamburger. It was hand pattied and huge. Then I had a chocolate fried pie and ice cream for dessert. Everything was very good. And the staff was really friendly. Talk about a surprise this is just a little hole in the wall mainly for locals that needs to be featured on Diners Drive-ins and dives. Service is outstanding and it's decorated old world style to say the least. From the pies to the frog legs it's a huge surprise. Breakfast with a couple eggs biscuits and gravy and coffee is very good. It's a giant step back in time that's to say the least very refreshing. Prices are also very reasonable. read more

I got the breakfast platter one day and the sausage was huge, the eggs perfect and the biscuits and gravy as tasty as any I've had. The next day we got the burgers...which at huge!!! The best handmade cheeseburger in middle Tn and N. Ala. 1/2 lb, Kaiser bun, bacon and whatever else you want on it. NOT the stamped out frozen preformed meal burger from Sysco that seems to be every mom and pop's choice these days. Old fashion krinkle fries (specify).And, you can drink a beer with your meal if you so choose. I've eaten all the big burgers, 5 guys, Red Robin, Fuddruckers.. this rules. Don't be fooled by the name. It's a country restaurant. Oh yeah.. breakfast 7 days a wk and the bacon is as good as Cracker Barrel.
