I was in Pulaski, TN visiting a friend. We decided to go to the Rusty Spur for lunch. They had a lunch special for $15.99 consisting of a 6 oz ribeye, a skewer with 5 grilled shrimp, Texas toast and fries. Our waitress was quick to get us our drinks and stopped several times to check on us. I ordered grilled chicken, side salad, and onion rings. My grilled chicken was dry but ok. It wasn't spectacular and it wasn't the worst I have had. There was seasoning salt on it. The onion rings were excellent. Best restaurant onion rings in a long time. 3/5 My friend's ribeye was very thin and was supposed to be cooked medium. The ribeye filled up her plate and looked well done. She said her shrimp was good and the Texas toast was too. The fries were ok. 3/5 The food was ok. If you are in the Pulaski area, please stop by. Well the sign says Rusty Spur Steakhouse, but I guess diner works. I'd call the theme western with a mural of an old western town painted on one wall. Lots of wood and old barn metal. The service was friendly and quick. My wife and I tried the special. I opted for pork chop and she chose the meatloaf. We had turnip greens, slaw, hush puppies, their cornbread pancake, southwest corn mix, and cabbage. That way we got to try most of the sides. They were out of some of them. Great flavor all around, like being back in grandma's house. Stop in and give them a try. I recommend the smoked pork chop. Tremendous flavor. read more

As always our lunch came with a smile from Diana. On Friday it's Shrimp and Steak special, so my mom and I always show up and the the crew there are friendly and happy. The Rusty Spur has a different special every day, depending on your taste for the day. The outside is set with tables and and lighting for great ambiance. The indoors has a collection of old pictures and country memorabilia. It'll be well worth the stop. read more

I was in town on business. One of the people I was working with told me this was one of the best places in town to eat dinner. I pulled in at about 4:30, there was almost no one there but it was early for dinner. As I walked up I saw that there were dogs( someone's pets) on the outside patio, you could not get from the parking lot to the door without getting in there space. I love dogs but you never know if someone has a mean dog, if you do something to trigger them or they just don't like how close to their person. I just don't like dogs at restaurants inside or out. I was seated quickly but the server really took a long time to take my drink order but I thought maybe since it was slow she didn't even know I was there yet. I got my drink and she said she would be back to get my order. It was about 15 minutes before she returned. I ordered a sirloin and it was season well and cooked exactly as I ordered it. I ordered a salad and was told they were out of lettuce. I didn't know what to think of that at a steak house. I finished my meal and waited another 15 minutes for my bill. My iced tea was never refilled. The food was great but the service was not very good. The poor rating is based on the service, the meal was 5 stars. read more

100% Phenomenal! We loved everything about this place from the atmosphere til dessert. The waitress was super helpful with it being our first time and her recommendations were spot on. Lots of folks there on a Friday night. Family owned and operated, good people and kind as they come. We had the porterhouse steak and fried shrimp. The sides are incredible. Our filets were excellent! Delicious and cooked just right. The service was very good! Certainly above average. The facilities are not plush but the dining area was clean. We enjoyed the evening until...some woman who was not our server and appeared by her clothing to be either the manager or owner brusquely came to our table and announced she would "remove our plates and utensils now." This was obviously a message that since we had paid our bill, we should leave. Even though it was a busy Saturday night, there were three or four empty tables close by. She could have foregone her rude behavior by saying something nice like, "May I get you something else?" Or " We're glad you dined with us this evening." We were getting ready to leave anyway and didn't appreciate her condescending manner. Had I known I would be treated so badly, I would have left a 5% tip rather than 20%. The food are so good, we got the lunch combo ribeye and shrimp and you can choose how you want them to fix the shrimp, either grilled or fried. Either way its good. And the service are good and fast. We like trying local places we haven't been to before. Sometimes you win... like with this place. It was busy when we got there which is usually a good sign. Good service and the pace of service was good. Our food didn't come out fast and stack up on our table. We were able to enjoy our meal without being rushed. Potato skins were ginormous and delicious. The salad was lacking color but it wasn't terrible. The steaks were cooked perfectly. Portion size of the sides were large. Broccoli was seasoned well and so were the grilled veggies. Tony and I was driving around today outside of Nashville. We drove about 1 1/2 hrs south of Nashville, and ended up in a small town near the Alabama border off Rt 64 in a town called "Pulaski". It was such a great quaint little town. We decided to get out and walk around and take some pictures. On our way out of town looking for Rt 31A off Rt 31..it was getting to be about 1pm so we decided to grab a bite to eat. We found a diner called "Rusty Spur Diner". It is a small location, but said it was family owned and operated. We went in and it was very rustic decor making you feel like you were out west!!! In the front entrance was a bar with about 6 stools and three high top pub style tables and then floor space is sort of "L" shaped, so down the side was about 10 tables. We grabbed a table. The place was about half full. The waitress approached us immediately and asked how we were. She was young and friendly. We told her we were passing through and liked the name and opted to stop. She thanked us for stopping in and asked us for our drink order. Tony got a budweiser in a bottle and I took a sweet tea with lemon. She asked us if we would like to try the special of the day, which was "French Dip" with Fries and Tea for only $6.99. We took two..but of course Tony's was a beer and not a tea...for only a $1 more...great deal..both plates piled high with Roast Beef so tender it melted, with Swiss cheese melted and gooey, with mushrooms and thin slices of onions, on a hoagie bun. Big ole French Fries deep fried golden..and a gravy au juis for dipping. IT WAS AWESOME!!! OMG..my only problem, my stomach wasn't big enough to eat all of mine!!! I would definitely order this again, and I would definitely eat here again!!! Taxes and all, drinks food everything less than $18 plus tip...if you are in PULASKI...stop at the RUSTY SPUR DINER off Main Street...you will not be disappointed !!!! read more

Okay so I was traveling for a wedding. About three hours before the wedding the groom, his new son in law, two others, and I all visited this restaurant starving. We were seated promptly and had our orders taken quickly. Now the menu is simple with decent pricing and HUGE, HUGE portions. It took about and hour for us to get our food, but it was delicious. I personally like my burger cooked rare and asked for it to be so. It was done perfectly. We came close to missing the wedding (groom included, oh no!), because of how long it took to receive our food, but that being said it was well worth it. I may not be able to visit this restaurant again, because I live near Atlanta, Ga, but I wish we had a restaurant like you here. read more

This is a good local community type restaurant. We had the H.B. and F.F. and my friend says they are a (2 of 5). 5 being the best he has had.F.F. He said it was a burger. Plate put together was sloppy.. I had a grilled chicken sandwich and fries, it wasn't good. It was sloppy, had ketchup on it and onion, just two things I haven't ever had on a gr. Ck. sandwich. No seasoning on chicken and tough. So I have to give it a 1. Loud place very lively. But the to go orders are sloppy. I guess I would recommend eating in then you could send it back immediately if it's not good. But cashier was nice. The food needs to be as good to go as it is in restaurant. The staff was nice but the food was not good. The fried shrimp appetizer was over cooked. Ordered the New York Strip steak medium rare with baked potato. The potato was undercooked and the steak was over cooked. Sent the steak back and they brought another steak that was almost raw. An employee stopped by our table to ask how everything was and we told her about the over cooked and undercooked steaks. Her response was to offer to cook the steak more, by this time we were ready to leave. Over priced for what you get. First time eating there and will be my last.
