Nick's BBQ is known for their BBQ ribs and chicken but we were in a hurry and stopped in for a couple burgers and chicken sandwich. We we very impressed with the burgers! Great buns and thick, juicy burgers. Fresh Lettuce, thick slices of ripe tomatoes, and a minimum of grease. My wife's chicken sandwich was juicy and on the same type of soft, but not too soft, bun. The service was friendly and quick. The soda selection was classic South side ( RC, Diet Rite, Hires Root Beer, 7-UP, etc.). The prices were great, too. We have been to Nick's (other locations) before for Ribs and Chicken but last night we were thoroughly impressed with the burger and chicken sandwich. read more

Went to them for years. Stopped going many times for the poor service. Then go back again acouple of times than bam again have shitty service. Food has always been good. But due to cheep owners not scheduling properly or just poor training and lazzy people. The food is good but the service is not. Not very friendly at the drive thru and if you're in a hurry, well be prepared to wait. Usually they're pretty slow at speed of service. I once waited 20 minutes at the drive thru speaker because they told me to wait. I went inside to see why they wouldn't take my order and as I'm walking in they are now taking the order of the car that was behind me. Made me wait 20 minutes for nothing. A solid three from little ol' me! Stopped in for a quick lunch on Friday. The staff was pleasant, the prices were low, but my selection as a vegetarian was slightly limited. Sure they had a lot of side dishes that I could happily gorge myself in (mozzarella sticks, fried zucchini, french fries, curly fries, etc.), but there weren't too many entree options. I was truthfully hoping for a veggie burger or black bean burger or something of that nature, but I wound up with an equally delicious, less weight friendly grilled cheese. It's sad to see a Nicks run as badly as this one is! I grew up down the street from the one in Palos Heights and later worked near the one in Homer Glen. I love their BBQ! But this location has screwed up 3 different times and now I'm done with them. Once we ordered dinners to go and found when we got home they forgot to put our side orders in. Today when we order the old guy behind the counter was grumpy and bringing on rude to us. I ordered a pulled pork sandwich, it's way over cooked (it's crunchy in spots). This was our first time going to Nick's & trying their food. I ordered several different items from here including beef sandwiches, sausage w/ hot peppers, cream of chicken soup, potato wedges, etc. Absolutely Every single thing I ordered was Excellent! And let me stress that I'm Very picky when it comes to food so for me to be impressed is a big deal. Everyone else I ordered food for also loved their food. This place is trash, weird inside and the video gambling isn't doing well to boost reputation. They have RC products which are an absolute shame to soda, the service is slow and the employees are all about 16 years old with some grouchy middle aged supervisor. I ordered 2 2 hot dogs with fries and I couldn't have been more disappointed. I asked for only ketchup on 2 and it was a small soaked in portion on the bun with no taste, the dog itself was cool not even warm. 16 dollars wasted I should've got my money back. This place shouldn't dare call themselves a bbq place you'd be better off tossing this food to the birds I doubt a homeless person would eat this trash. read more

Spotted here today on my way to work. I have a sore throat and the only things that don't hurt to swallow are soup and ice cream. I went through the drive thru and ordered their cream of chicken soup. It took a few minutes for them to get it to me. I like to give places the benefit of the doubt. Maybe the person in front of me had a big order? Anyways, the girl who gave me my soup gave me the vibe that she didn't want to be there. Not exactly rude but definitely not friendly either. Been going to Nick's for quite a few years now. when you pre order your lunch and only have a half hour to pick up and eat your lunch, it gets very annoying that the older woman who answers the phone constantly gets orders wrong,and extra things onto your order.(that have to be refunded that takes forever)Quality is going down on food. And with the exception of one nice younger girl that works there during the day, everybody else has attitudes especially the management. I think now if it wasn't for the poker machines that they put in there that place would have closed down. They seem to brag about having three locations but that doesn't make this one any better than the other ones. I would recommend moving on and finding somewhere better to eat. read more

This is literally the worst barbecue I've ever had in my life. I ordered the brisket ribs dinner and average would be an overstatement to describe how bad it was. The brisket was tough and tastes like either the meat was old or have been previously frozen and reheated. The ribs were okay but just tasted like oven-baked ribs with generic BBQ sauce poured on it. Not sure if the meat was really cheap for the ribs or if they had just sat around for a really long time.the macaroni and cheese was laughable and it tasted like boiled pasta. I never ate rhe beans and attempted to fill up on the 5 potato wedges they gave me. It was really disappointing that my husband spent $17 on it and we were unable to return it because we are at home with a newborn. I will never eat here again this is a disgrace to barbecue. I would recommend going to Chuck's instead. Sorry Nicks but you guys need to really step your game up before you claim to be the best BBQ in town. read more

First trip here even though ive been living in this area for 10 years. There were 4 of us and we all tasted each others order. Just to sum it all up, the food here is your typical frozen, Gordon food service type of food. What we had did not taste like it was made from scratch or freshly prepared at all. I have to say, I love this restaurant. I said i was going to try a few things out of there before I tell anyone who travels that far to go there and try their food. This place is absolutely good. I love the gyros, it is very tender, they put feta cheese on it, the sauce isn't runny like some places, and it is put in the gyro sleeve like it is supposed to be. The spaghetti is also the bomb, seasoned so good, a must try as well. their cheeseburgers are very good, and the fries are hot and cooked properly. Italian beef is good too, and very tender rib tips. They've been a local favorite for small franchise fast food for many. many years. Like most places, their portions have grown slightly smaller, while the prices meanwhile have gone up. With that said, they are still a better value in flavor compared to nearby family-owned fast food reseaturants offering similar fast food. Their menu is as large and varied as you will find. Had to wait for our order to be prepared - ordered two rib dinners - gravy was watery, Sweet Potato fries were mushy. This is the third time we've had a problem, first time we were charged for sides that came with the meal, second time sides were missing and this time we had to wait and again sides were missing. Husband stopped today for a gyro plate, an extra pita and extra sauce. Almost $12.00. Looking at your menu, he got what he ordered minus the cole slaw that was suppose to come with it and what with no feta chunks. Beefy's, Nicky's on Archer, Anthony's on Archer all throw some feta in the container and the extra pita was just that not flipped on the grill and fell apart when folded was dry. Any of the other places charge $8.00 for what he ordered and is way better. He always liked your food but now will not go the extra 10 minutes for it. So I placed an order for delivery at 6:12pm. I used their online ordering system to do this. I got an email confirmation with an order number. An hour goes past and still no food. I check my email again and noticed that they didn't have a section for my credit card number to be taken. So I called them and let them know they didn't have my number. The woman told me my order was in the system and that I should have gotten a call so that they can get my number. So I just gave it to her over the phone and she put my order in again. This was at 7:36pm. They said it would take an hour for delivery. Eight thirty pm goes by. Then 9:30pm. I call them to see what happened. The guy that answered said someone had came to my house and called me and the person that answered said that they would open the door. Impossible. I didn't talk to anyone and there wasn't even a missed call on my phone from them. Then he proceeded to tell me that I was outside of his delivery area even though I checked their map and it said they deliver as far east as Kedzie. I'm on Pulaski. They even have different delivery minimums and delivery fees for different areas. He told me, "It doesn't matter what that map says." So, safe to assume I won't be ordering here anymore and I'm waiting for my refund. read more

Went there today for lunch after convincing a couple of work buddies to go there. I ordered the 1/3 slab rib dinner, when my ribs came out it looked like I ordered the 1/8 slab dinner. Had small bones in my first bite. The ribs were so dry, could tell they were cooked ours before and just reheated, tried to hide it with extra bbq sauce. Really good Greek restaurant-style food at a fast food pace and completed with a beer! This is the neighborhood secret to a quality, quick meal when you're on your lunch break! Timmy the server is wonderfully friendly and she smiles ALL the time! They have a large menu, great soups, awesome BBQ and good burgers, (cream of chicken every day plus another soup of the day). One time I had a dry overcooked and small portioned jambalaya, it was about closing time and I would have rather been told they were out. They have really amazing burgers and chicken tendies. Chicken tendies are life, and if you don't understand, then you are really missing out on life. I have been here a few times throughout the years, and one day last year I decided to come back. I am so glad I did. I really enjoy their BBQ as well. This place used to be my favorite! Had the same staff forever, always great food with nice people and super quick. Now the cashiers have NO IDEA what is going on? I waited in the drive threw for a SALAD I called in 30 minutes prior. For the type of food they now serve their prices are too high and customer service is too poor.
