I usually come out to play tennis at the courts or check out the markets they host, usually on Thursday evenings or Saturday mornings. They also have fun community events like the community parking lot sale, where locals can sign up to have a yard sale at the park. My son loves the playgrounds (there are several for different age groups), and on weekends, it's always nice to stop by when there are baseball or softball games going on. The snack shack is usually open during games so its an easy and affordable stop for snacks, burgers and hot dogs. The park is always clean, well-kept, and full of life. It's great to see so many people using it for different things. I wish that they'd add some outdoor pickleball courts, but the community center nearby offers plenty of indoor options like pickleball, racquetball, volleyball, and basketball. The one thing that I have seen a lot of lately is kids/teens racing around on electric bikes/Surron-style bikes. The hills throughout the park are fun to ride, but just make sure to keep your eyes peeled, especially with letting your small kids roam around, to avoid potential accidents. To reach the ponds, after you park, you'll need to walk upwards to the left where there is a dirt foot trail to the ponds. There are two ponds. The first one that you'll see, is the smaller one. There are a few ducks that were here when we arrived. We saw several people fishing in this pond because the park recently stocked up the pond with fish. Although, when I spoke to someone who was leaving, they caught 3 fishes and were heading home. Another person who just arrived an hour earlier, still didn't catch any fish. My advice is to go early in the morning when the fish are hungry to catch the fish. To see the larger pond, just keep heading upwards to the right and you'll immediately see it to your left. This pond has most of the ducks congregating here. We saw less people fishing at this pond maybe because there were more ducks. The main reason to going to this park was to feed the ducks. You're not supposed to feed them bread. We brought bird seeds and sunflower seeds (with no salt) with us. When we went, there were three types of ducks: Mallards (The males have the pretty green colored feathers from their head to their necks while the females are covered with different shades of brown. I like the light tan feathered ones. You may see the all-white feathered Mallard which is pretty too.) Muscovy (they look like they're wearing red masks lol) The ones here were rather large compared to the other ducks. American Wigeon (they're smaller than the Mallard & Muscovy with green feather streak from their eyes going down their necks. At the top of their heads, the feathers are a white streak going down their necks as well. The main part of their body is covered with brown feathers.) Overall, we had an enjoyable time here feeding the ducks and relaxing in the park. Great free activity to bring along your kids to see the ducks. Just remember not to feed them bread because it lacks nutritional value and can lead to health problems for the birds.

I come here frequently to either play pickle ball with the Yucaipa Pickleball club, take my son to the playground, and even for a date picnic with my wife. The park is well-maintained and the city has invested a lot of money and time into keeping the Park updated and continually making changes based off of the needs and requests of the community. I absolutely recommend bringing your family here for some safe, fun and activities!

There have been a few changes in the past few years here. The dog park is closed but it is my understanding that the city will be reopening it again over by the gazebo area. The skatepark is closed and the covered courts area has been expanded to where the skatepark used to be. Yucaipa's main skatepark is over next to the high school off of 13th street. The new covered area is now home to 4 permanent pickleball courts which makes for an amazing space for youth who may not have their own nets yet and for anyone to come play in the shade. Yucaipa Pickleball Club reserves these courts for club play through the city. Club hours are generally in the mornings and the 4th Saturday of the month. The parking is pretty easy to find and the map is easy to read. I'd recommend some decent trail shoes and a small water bottle. The park across the street is a nice spot for a picnic afterwards.
