Nicest employees. They were super kind and helped me out a lot. Would highly recommend!!! Tonya was by far the coolest!

BOOM! The giant sweaty sock of arcade crawling adolescence just slapped across your cheek. Ow! It hurts so right. 1.) This place hits both ankle-biting kids and 30 somethings at the same time. There's a good split between mindless toddler games and arcade games of the 80s and 90s. Bottom line: nice place to take the lil' uns. 2.) Their machines are kept in good repair. 3.) It is CHEAP. They had a nice collection of arcade games on my visit. Off the top of my head, I seem to remember Gauntlet, TMNT, Silent Scope(s), Donkey Kong, Q-bert, Mario Bros, Tron, Burger Time etc. Lots of pinball too. I sunk into a Star Wars pinball hole back in 2010 so I don't touch the stuff, but still, it's impressive to see. Good arcades are a rarity in these troubled times. Thank you Nickelmania for just being you. read more

If it weren't for the bad customer service, this would be a 4-star review because Nickelmania does accomplish it's main objective = be a good place for gamers at a good price. So about the bad customer service: I came here for my friend's daughter's bday party (bday #4). Tip - Don't bring your kids here for their bday party unless you've already fed them! From the start, I knew it was going to be a bad experience. 1) The workers there failed to prepare for the bday party even though my friend had called and made a reservation before. 2) The front desk worker was rude and didn't seem like he cared about what he was doing. 3) He did not make much of an effort to accommodate the party. 4) The party special was horrible. They brought a cheese or pepperoni pizza from papa john's (really poor quality) and it took like 45 minutes...we were starving. 5) No utensils...are you kidding me? 6) Beverage choice was 7up and Coke...no water? This worker needs to get retrained. The pro's: - Games were interesting and cheap read more

It's dirty and half the games and machines are usually broken, but, hey, it's a Nickel Arcade so what do you expect? My friends and I have recently discovered that it's a pretty fun, cheap way to spend an hour or two when you get tired of doing the whole "dinner-and-a-movie" thing. (We're all 20something young adults, so it's fun for everyone!) Also, if you google "Nickelmania coupons" you can find one that allows you to get up to 6 people in for 99 cents a piece! Not too bad. They also have an official coupon page on their website that is worth checking out. read more

I'm addicted to coin pusher machines...Like an 80 year old chain smoker that reeks of sadness and cat piss... I just can't stop putting the nickels in and having the tickets come out. We get a lot of specials or coupons and my husband and I love pin ball and video games AND it's fun to give our 6 year old a bag of nickels and release him like a kraken on a cruise ship. We all leave with a smile on our faces, a cheesy toy or two and empty pockets. What's more to want in a date night establishment? read more

What a dump!! This is what happens when a business owner gets too greedy. The place was so hot that after ten minutes it became unbearable to remain inside, not to mention the stench. I can't believe that they charge an admission and I can't believe that parents have their children's birthday party there. Half the games didn't work and none of the teenagers who worked that night gave a crap, they were too busy socializing with each other. It's really a shame because this could be a fun place for kids. read more

This place would've gotten a 4 stars if it weren't for the poorly trained clerk. It is absolutely lacking in customer service. It was our friend's daugher's 4th birthday and the service was below adequate. Here's why: -the reservation was made and confirmed yet when we went to the counter, the clerk said that she did not make a birthday reservation. I couldn't believe his attitude in front of the little birthday girl! After some wiggling, he finally was able to--without apologies for his co-worker's mistake. -we waited so long to get our food that we had to go across the street to order our own pizza, which turned out to be a better choice because when the pizza finally arrived, it was horrible--what a waste of money. -the clerk lacked enthusiasm for his job--no happy birthday or even a smile! To the management: please retrain your staff---he almost ruined the lil girl's birthday. read more

Nickelmania is BOSS. I come here when I have nothing else to really do, because it's hours of entertainment for maybe six bucks. They have old arcade classics like Donkey Kong, Galaga, Super Mario Bros, Pac-Man and more. A huge collection of Pinball machines and a plethora of ticket giving games. It's a pretty clean place considering and everything works. If something eats your nickles, just go to the front and they will refund you. This place is awesome and a great way to spend a night, day whenever. There's something for everyone here and you will have a great time. read more

I loved this little nickel arcade so much. It's a little grubby (as are all things that kids touch repeatedly) but it's super cheap family fun and by far the best priced birthday package in the valley. Check their website for even bigger discounts with coupons. Best part - they let you bring in outside food if you book a party. read more

Great stress reliever for the GF after taking all my money!!! :). Very clean and safe.

I've only been here once, but I have been to other nickel arcades and this seems right up there. We went Friday night and the place was packed! But not so much that we couldn't easily find games to play. I chose to spend most of my time on the DDR machine and enjoyed that PLENTY! I was the only one on it for almost an hour (I think...I lost track of time) and had a blast. Eventually another guy, much better than I am, showed up. I had trouble only with two machines (one had a functional slot and another stopped responding...) but that really is pretty typical. If that wasn't the case I'd probably drop 5 stars here. Cleanliness was fine. I was grossed out by the bathroom, though I wished they had hand sanitizer around.... Otherwise, it is super cheap to get in (only $2.25) AND they have a coupon you can print online to get up to six people in for $0.99! We printed it...but forgot it at home...and they have several written reminders that the coupon MUST be printed, so we just lightened our wallets a bit more. I'm moving, otherwise I'd definitely hit this place up again. I had a blast and everyone else seemed to, too. read more

A nice place to go on a weekday afternoon, throw skee balls and meditate on big picture life choices... * the cheep prizes are a fun nostalgic head trip too. *Guy behind the counter is friendly and chatty but not prying. read more

Best place to play pinball in SLC with 10+ games. It's under $3 to get in and 15 cents a game. I look for pinball everywhere I go traveling and rarely find it! If you go late you won't have so many kids celebrating birthdays. It's the best we have here in town and reminds me of the arcades when I was a kid. read more

This is a nice arcade. I have been to others that are dirty, and seem a little sketchy. They have a lot of old school games and probably 10 plus pinball machines. There is also a good mix of ticket games. (Gambling for underage kids) A nice cheap date night. read more

This arcade is such a great find! Nice selection of both new and retro games! Mostly played on the retro game side which were 1 to 2 nickels, which I felt was an amazing deal! My kid played some of the newer games as well and to my surprise was actually able to earn a decent amount of tickets! The whole experience was pretty fantastic. There were 3 of us and we used a $5 nickle bag. Got about 1.5 hrs of fun for $11.75. Super cheap and fun time out. The only thing that was negative was the employee (chunky, tall, white dude with long hair) that helped my kid pick out prizes. My kid was super excited picking out prizes (as we rarely get many tickets at arcades) and this dude for the most part seemed pretty annoyed and had a sour crap attitude honestly. Calm down man, remember- you made the choice to work with kids! Otherwise, definitely going back. Great fun! read more

For pinball arcade addicts, this is as good as it gets in SLC. You pay $2.25 to get in and each game play is 15 cents! That is not a misprint. They have about 12 pinball games and they are usually working in great order. I go pretty often to get my fix. There are a lot of kids having birthdays in the earlier hours of the day but the pinballs are on the other side of the building from the kids games. This business also has lots of old school and new arcade games. DDR, PacMan, etc. Have fun and see you there! read more

This is my favorite nickel arcade in Utah. It's cleaner than its other nickel competition's locations, and the games are newer. I like taking the kids here because they will always have a blast. Give them $5 bucks and they're good for a bit depending on the games they play. If they play ticket games, they'll blow through the $5 in about an hour. Older kids will play the other games and the $5 will last longer. read more

It is what it is. I like this place better than Nickelcade. I think the game selections are much better, better kept up, and if your there to win prizes for the little ones you get more bang for your buck. I challenge you to try and spend more than $20 a kid here. And what's cool is that they don't walk away empty handed so it's not like your coins disappear into the abyss. Also, why the kids are busy racking up ticket the adults can enjoy some nostalgic gaming with titles like Double Dragon , Rampage, and the old school Street Fighter 2. I don't remember Blanka being so damn hard to beat. Yesterday Ryu must have taken at least 10 ass beatings at the hand of that beast and I never did get past Brazil. That furry guy must have spent the last decades training with the Gracies or something. read more

Nickelmania - Double Dragon - Arcades Near Me - Murray, Utah

We had this crazy idea to go over to Nickelcade one day, as my kids have always like Nickelmania... big mistake! SO.... it prompted me to share that we really enjoy the place. The machines are basically all in working order, it's as clean as an arcade full of kids is going to get, the tickets are reasonable. Games are 1-4 nickels and there is a variety. What's really different here is that the guys working have always been exceptional. They have snuck an extra few tickets to a kid who is short. They have happily and patiently exchanged items. They have given the online coupon rate, even when we forgot to bring it. So you're going to suffer if you are starving (there are minimal vending machine and sitting options) and if you're expecting to rack up 10,000 tickets and get some great prize, you are in the wrong place. That said, the 80s games are great, something for all ages, and exceptional employees. read more

I bring my four year old here all the time for cheap but awesome dates. $15 gets us 2 hours of fun. We have never had a problem with customer service, based off older reviews it looks like they've improved this over the last year. They have tons of new, updated games that only cost a few nickels. If you go to places like the bowling alleys these same games cost $2 to play one time. The game also put out a good amount of tickets. We always win at least 1000 tickets each trip which is fun for my son. They also have tons of the older classic games, everything is always working when we've been there and if there is a malfunction they are working on it immediately. If you want something fun and cheap to do, even without kids I'd recommend this place. read more

See all

I love going on dates with my boyfriend here. Staff is always friendly and they have a wide variety of games to play. There are lots of fun games for kids, but there are also games that adults can play. Every time I go, I spend more time there than intended because I'm having so much fun. Will be going again soon! read more

Kids had a lot of fun.. good way to waste some time before going to the airport to fly home. The guy that checked us in and helped with register is super cool and friendly, even towards the kids. read more

More than worth stopping in here. $2.25 gets you inside and $5 worth of nickels is plenty to have some fun for a while. all games are labeled by the number of nickels required 1-5 nickels. I can imagine a lot of preteen kids come through here so it doesn't smell super fresh but if you can get past that this place is so great read more

Crew was great! Prizes were fun! Kids had a blast!! They had allot of games for all ages.

This place is probably the best nickel arcade I have ever been to. And it's nostalgia galore! They have a lot of the classics I grew up playing. I will be back again read more

This basically is a cheap thrill arcade. Spend $20 bucks tops in a fairly decent amount of time. All the machines take nickels thus the name Nickelmania lol I like this place more than Nickelcade in West Valley. It has less out of order machines. The staff here are friendly and helpful. They are usually pretty packed especially on the weekends. They have a lot of parking and it's a good place to bring your chillen. (: read more

It was my first time to Nickelmania and I took my kids ages 7 and 3 and it wasn't busy for a Friday afternoon. It was easy to check in and you can get in for $2.25 per person. I also got $5 worth of nickels to share with the kids. I was there for about an hour. I didn't want to spend anymore because I felt my kids didn't know how to play a lot of the games. They were mostly into skee ball and air hockey. They also had little rides they could go on, but that was about it. I think they would have more fun when they are a little older and can figure out how to play. If I didn't have my kids there I could easily spend a few hours there. read more

This place is plain and simple fun. Date night or family outing this is a great option. Lots of classic arcade games from Super Mario Bros to PAC Man. The staff is friendly and happy to help if a game is not working right. They are all trained to fix the machines if needed, and get you back into the game! read more

I go here at least once every couple of months and I love it! They keep up with their upkeep and maintain their machines! Would recommend this place to anyone for a date or time with family! read more

This place is so much fun! We were in town trying to find something to entertain the kids and found this gem! The kids had a blast, the parents had fun and it was very inexpensive! There's something for everyone here! read more

I love spending an afternoon at Nickel Mania. Compared to other nickel arcades I've been to, this place keeps its games up and running and well-maintained. Nickel arcades aren't clean by nature, but I can tell the employees put mediocre effort into keeping things clean. I had a conversation with a shift manager who said employees stay late once a week to clean and repair all of the games, which I think is pretty cool. The same shift manager also told me that some of the pinball machines, like the Adams Family, are actually pretty rare and have most of their original parts. The staff is also really cool about responding when a game eats your nickels or runs out of tickets. If that happens at Nickel Cade in Ogden, there's a high chance that some teenager will lecture you on playing at your own risk (and they won't be very classy about it...I may or may not be speaking from personal experience). read more

The dude running this place when we were there was awesome, definitely the best thing about it. Lots of arcade games that are more towards past masters, as in circa 80's. The usual ticket nonsense is also there, if you want that, for whatever reason. Most of the games here actually work, but you pay for that with a higher cost per game. Games are still generally under a quarter, but I think this is sort of pushing the boundaries of the whole nickel idea. Also on the plus, this place is a whole lot cleaner than some of the others, but on the down side, it is also brighter, due to the awesome array of untinted and unshaded windows, which are probably really not what you'd want for an arcade. Solid job, but frequently packed...if you're needing an older video game fix, this place probably has more value for you...just trying to kill some time with your kid...not so much. read more

$2.25 to get in. I usually get a $5 bag of nickels and I haven't had any experience of machines broken and I go here often.

This place was horrible. Took forever to get service to pay to get in. Then we had to wait 30 min to redeem our tickets. Very horrible service. Also it was very hot in there you would think with all those nickels they could afford A/C. Guess not. Won't be going back here read more

I come here with my 10 and 4 year old all the time. the staff is friendly and super nice. On the weekends it does get busy, so you need to be a bit patient with them. I like the nice selection of games. My two boys have their favorites and I have mine. I love the coin pusher games. I would definitely recommend this place. It's a local mom and pops type. So don't expect the corporate structure. Great location and what's most importantly is we always have fun. read more

Lots of fun for me and my two kids, 9 and 13. Great mix of vintage games. Loved playing Robotron, Asteroids, various Donkey Kong / Mario versions, Street Fighter, etc. Games were generally in really good shape. Very affordable - $2.25 admission and games each cost one or more nickels. Since I mostly played the old games they were all 1 or 2 nickels and I could play a long time for next to nothing. The kids enjoyed all the ticket games but went through their bag of nickels faster. Everyone had a great time though. read more

Totally tubular dude! This place is groovy to the max! When I spotted Joust, I screamed like a little girl. No shame. They have a lot of old arcade games, and the best part is, they are all only a nickel to play! And, most of the games actually work and don't eat your money. Great selection of pinball machines as well. I think there was probably 12 of them at least? read more

Shinobi, Dungeons and Dragons (Shadow Over Mystara) not that poser crap, Double Dragon, Rampage, Defender, Robotron, Joust, GORF, Frogger, Burgertime, DIG frickin' DUG, Donkey Kong, Missile Command, Gauntlet AND Gauntlet Dark Legacy, Marble Madness, Arkanow, Galaga, Tapper, GHOSTS 'N GOBLINS, Asteroids, Tron, Q*bert...oh ya, and SHINOBI for gods sake's, SHINOBI. Oh yeah, they have a bunch of new games to keep them damn whippersnappers and ankle biter's entertained as well. But if you were a child of the 80s who's home life was less than satisfactory, and you found comfort in Digital friends....you will LOVE this place. You pay $2.50 to enter and although the games range from 1 to 8 nickels, all the old-school ones are only 1 to 2 nickels. So if you, like me, made it way past your personal life expectancy, come here get yourself a two dollar bag of nickels and recapture the innocent joy of your childhood. And maybe your Pac-Man wrist as well (that's what we called carpel tunnel in the old days kids). read more

I like this place. There is a decent variety of classic arcade games here, with a few newer ones sprinkled in. The owner is a very nice guy and is happy to casually chat about games if you're of like mind. I asked about my all-time favorite (OutRun) and he says he has a couple of them, but they're just sitting in his shop. Maybe if we keep gently nudging him about it, he'll bring one out of retirement so we can play it. read more

I've been coming here since I was a kid and still love it. Their games are much cheaper than a lot of other arcades.
