I've driven by this place a few times and have always been curious about it. This place is a kids paradise - tons of games that you play for prizes? I mean, come on, what's better? I'd be interested to come back on a slower day, because it was difficult to be in charge of kids here during a very crowded, overstimulating, busy weekend. We came here for a birthday party on a Saturday afternoon and all of the kids were given a card to swipe on all the games. The points you won were automatically uploaded to the card. I was so nostalgic for when you used to get actual paper tickets at the arcade! This is not the case here, and probably most other places nowadays. The staff was friendly and the arcade itself was much cleaner than I was expecting. Some of the games weren't working and there wasn't any signage communicating that. The group of kids I was with LOVED the merry go round and the little rides catered to the smaller kiddos. Those games obviously don't accrue any points, but they did win some points and were able to pick up some prizes at the end. If you get overstimulated easily (like myself), this place probably isn't for you - lots of noises, lights, bright colors and carpeting. It is a fun place for families, and even with it being busy, we didn't ever have to wait long for the games we wanted to play. Lots of cool games in the front. you can spend all your nickels getting ticked and then use remained nickels for the games in the back which are amazing. my child set a high score on donkey king 3. has lots of classic games. pinball is really fun they have some classic pinball and some more recent pinball. The only bad thing was they couldn't round us up to 10 tickets when we had 8 so that was unfortunate. read more

VERY happy with our visit to Nickelmania and spent a great afternoon here with the boy. The Pros: - The place can be extremely affordable. $5 for two of us to enter and another ~$15 for us to play more pinball and video games than we deserve. Games range anywhere from $.05 to $.25 to play and the value is definitely there. Especially if you like Pinball. The selection of vintage video games is solid as well and we played quite a few. - Cleanliness. It was well lit, clean carpets, and surfaces were well taken care of. Even on a busy Saturday I wasn't scared to touch anything. - Repair. I found exactly 2 machines not working. That's it. Whoever runs the repairs in this place is ON POINT. Pinball machines are a maintenance nightmare but they are all working fine. The Cons: - Not really a con but Saturday was EXTREMELY busy. We waited to play a few games, especially the "ticket" games (we will talk about those later.) - Ticket games. Any self respecting adult hates these things. You pay a lot of money to spit out some tickets on machines that are usually one spin, one try "chance" games. You amass 4,000 tickets and trade them for a candy bar. These were packed the whole day we were there so the allure to the kids is working. We will be back. We had a lot of fun here and the pinball was excellent. Next visit will be on a weekday so we can have the place a little more to ourselves and not have to wait to play any games. read more

My lady is a SLC native and used to work here when she was younger, so decided to go by with her niece and show her a good time. I have to say, seeing the old arcade and pinball machines certainly took me back to my childhood. They have a fantastic selection of both old school and newer games, so theres something for everyone of all ages to play with here. There are some party rooms available for y'all with kids, but I didn't check the price. But I'm guessing that it's pretty affordable. And the bathroom was actually CLEAN. This location has been open for a couple of months in the old Hancock Fabric location near the West Jordan Post Office. I was excited when they opened up in this space because there is a lack of good cheap family fun in this area. I've been to other Nickelmania locations and have even booked them for kid birthday parties in past years, but this location is all shiny and new so it's my fav. This new location is big, clean, and has an amazing amount of party rooms with really decently priced packages. Admission is around $2 but they always have a coupon on their site for $1.50 admission. For $5 you can get neatly packed bags of 100 nickels for your gaming pleasure. Games take anywhere between 1 and 5 nickels each, with the majority taking 3 nickels. In addition to all the flashy modern kid games, there are a massive amount of retro games that brought me straight back to my 80s childhood, and lots of pinball machines as well. For $20, our group of two adults and 3 kiddos spent an hour and a half having a blast, and left with enough tickets for some little prizes to keep the small ones happy. But pro-tip, there is a Dollar Tree two doors down so if your kid is not happy with their ticket earnings, that could be used as a nice diversion. My only gripe is that there is nowhere to put your coat once inside and it gets HOT. I ended up carrying around all my kids coats and dying a little inside. There are only a couple of tables to sit at since they don't serve any food here, so expect to be on your feet and moving around lots and extremely hot if it's winter and you've needed a winter coat to walk across the parking lot. Next time I will leave them in the car and tell the kids to sprint ;) read more

This is easily our go to arcade. The price of admission is only around $2.50 or so. From what I have heard there are also many places you can find a free coupon too. The amount of different style games is incredible. The best part here is they keep the machines in good working order for the most part. There have been many times at other arcades half the machines are broken. The workers here this last time were patient, happy and interacted with our children extremely kind. We have been here many times and will continue to return for these very reasons. Keep it up as you are doing business right! read more

Cheap easy fun! I am so impressed by this place. I'm so used to going to other cheap arcades where the games dont work and you dont get your tickets... not this place. They take time to fix machines so we can continue playing and they refill tickets timely. Fun arcade. However, don't waste your $20 renting the party rooms. They let you rent it for 1.5 hours and on the DOT they kick you out. There were no parties scheduled after us and every room was empty. There are 3-4 party rooms. It is just ridiculous. We were late finishing in the room because we were buying $20+ more of nickels for all the kids, letting them play more, which helps their business? They gave me a 5 minute warning. I hurried and got all of the kids back in the room we stuffed cupcakes down our throats and hurried and opened presents. I was cleaning the room up, waiting for parents to grab their kids and a worker came in, and he was really condescending. "Ma'am your reservation was over 15 minutes ago." And made us leave. I had to have parents help me clear everything out of the room. Geez. You literally don't get any benefit or perks for renting the room for a party, so save that $20 and just buy more nickels and park yourself on the open tables by the vending machine that they have that are "free". read more

I booked a birthday party for my son before all the shut downs of business, and called today to get a refund since they were closes when the party was supposed to happen, they told me no on the refund and that the only options were to eat the money or reschdule the party, nobody wants to do a party almost 2 months after a birthday. They should take care of their customers and refund the money for a situation that was beyond anyone's control. I will never come here again. So disappointed. read more

This place was amazing. I went once several years ago with my kids, and it was dark and not much fun, with lots of old broken-down machines. Fast forward to today, 2022, and this place is on fire! Went with my kids, and it is bright, fun, has tons of games (new, retro, and an amazing pinball machine collection), and is well-priced. Were there for several hours and had a blast. When we turned in our tickets, a young lady who was differently abled helped us. I really appreciate places that give opportunities to everyone to work. I've been looking for a good old school "Nicklecade" style arcade and this is it!! My wife and I have been going here for about a year now for some of our dates. We love it!! They do a pretty good job keeping almost all their games working all the time. We have tried multiple other arcades and they are OVERPRICED with games that constantly broken. I was a little late to one of my kids parties ( I was her teacher) and when I first walked in in took them awhile to assist me when I was trying to check in. i told the guy I wasn't going to play any of the games just give my kid her present And spend time with her. he came up to me 2 other times telling me I had to go. When I let the father know he said that they paid for 30 people and less than 20 showed up so he knew I was covered. As I was walking my two girlies to the bathroom the same proceeded to follow me and saying that he was going to call the cops. My response was okay you're seriously going to do this in front of two kids and he said I had two options to leave or have the cops called. again I let the father know and she went and spoke to the man and assured him I was paid for and he wanted to see the receipt that they had to prove that there was not 30 people and the man would not give it to him. It was very ridiculous and I'm beyond sad that this 40 year old man decided to act so immature in front of a 3 year old and a 10 year old. Very ridiculous and i will not be going again. read more

Half of the machines take your money and fail to operate. Others are out of order. The prizes are not stocked either and they won't give you the prize in the display case if they're out. Bad machine maintenance, poor prize stocking. Kinda ghetto. No bueno. Won't be back. read more
