Plenty of chips and salsa! Nice and crispy chips!

Back again, this time for Kevin Smith!! Such an amazing show!! Food and service were great as always!! My husband's go-to is their veggie burgers and Heineken Zeros!! I had a delightful Michelob Ultra and they made my turkey bacon sandwich without a bun!! It was so good!! Love, love Wiseguys!! They have the whole package!! Such a great vibe every time!!

Had an awesome time at Wise Guys! Headliner was Aakash Singh and he killed it with crowd work. The food was surprisingly good or I was too hungry. My avocado turkey bacon sandwich was delicous. My husband's bacon cheese burger was great too. They sprinkled too much salt on our fries. I would definitely come back for some laughs next time.

We sat in the 3 rd row close to center

Great comedy club! The acts and the food and the employees are all top notch. A big room that feels intimate. Thanks for a perfect date night

While you won't find as many comedy clubs around here as you would in places like LA or NYC, Wiseguys is a real gem in Salt Lake. Their local talent is usually good (we've seen quite a few as warm ups for headliners) and the comedians they're able to bring in from around the country is pretty impressive. We've seen past and current SNL comedians and years ago we saw John Mulaney--still one of the most memorable shows we've seen to date. I also don't expect fine dining at any comedy club, but the food at Wiseguys is pretty great. We usually grab dinner when we go to a show instead of getting the other food options nearby because everything we've tried has been good (our favorite is the spinach and artichoke dip). Plus, we usually get there early to get good seats and eating always makes the time go by a little faster.

We've been to this comedy club many times, and it never disappoints. The performers are always hilarious, and the atmosphere makes for such a fun night out. The food is surprisingly good for a comedy spot, and the prices are really reasonable. It's the perfect place for a date night! good laughs, good food, and a great vibe every time.

Small venue that provides up close viewing of stage. Wait staff is quick to get you seated and food / drinks ordered before the show starts. Food is quick and tasty. Staff is engaged with making sure your entire viewing experience is top-notch. There is only one bad seating area (to the back right when you walk in.

Such an awesome comedy venue with a top notch open mic on Wednesday showcasing some real local and traveling talent for only 5 bucks! A great central location, awesome bar menu, staff, and decore featuring murals of some of your favorite comedians. If you sign up for the open mic you will be welcomed and treated well. You are even given the option to purchase a high quality video of your set. Be sure to follow all instructions and details when signing up and DONT BE LATE!

We like the space at the downtown location. The bar/lounge area is spacious and feels upscale. Most of the time you can choose between the 7 PM show or the 9 PM show and we really like having the option to go early or late. Wow! Adam Friesland was hysterical. I laughed so much. I think I irritated people sitting next to me, but I couldn't help it. 90% of the time I was laughing so hard I had tears in my eyes. If he comes back to Salt Lake, I highly recommend getting tickets and watching his show. Adam Friedland is the host of the world-famous Adam Friedland Show. Where ever you get your podcasts. (The 5 stars are for our overall experience at Wise Guys - food specific ratings in the last half of this review) My husband and I had an awesome time here, and we're definitely planning on coming back for more shows! Seating here is first come, first served, so if you're wanting guaranteed front row seating, plan on arriving at least an hour and a half before the show, as the best seats filled up fast. We arrived right as the doors opened and were impressed at how quick and convenient the check-in process was! My husband and I had our ID's out and ready to be scanned by the first employee and my husband gave his name (since he booked the tickets under it) to the second employee who confirmed his name was on a list, and we were directed into the club and were immediately able to grab front row seats to the show! The show started on time and ran smoothly with no technical issues. The seats were decent and I felt they were more than fine to sit in for the entire duration of the show. The seats come with an entire row long bar-like table that makes it easy for you to eat / drink while waiting for / watching the show. Our server, who checked in with us very shortly after we sat down, was fast and attentive, and our food and drinks came out quickly. We honestly had a positive experience with every staff member we encountered here! Overall, we felt the quality of the food for the price you pay wasn't bad. We'd give the food we tried a collective 3.5 stars. Ever so slightly above average. Our cocktails were definitely tasty, but this club is in Utah, so don't expect very strong ones. If you're looking to enjoy a casual night out, go with a cocktail. For those who want to go above and beyond, order a shot. The spinach artichoke dip was great, but they give you a smaller amount of it with a larger portion of chips. I have a feeling this is a strategy to convince you to buy more dip for an extra $2.50. However, given that it's $10 vs the seemingly standard $12+ at other eating establishments, perhaps it's more worth it? My chicken caesar wrap was good! The dressing inside was tangy and I felt it had just the right amount of filling. It seemed to come apart slightly more easily than other wraps I've had elsewhere. It wasn't the best caesar wrap I've ever had, but it certainly wasn't the worst! The shoestring fries that came with it were crispy and seasoned well! I like my fries salty, and salty they most certainly were. My husband enjoyed his burger, but had the same view as me that it wasn't anything particularly special. Overall, we had a really great time at Wise Guys, and we can't wait to spend another date night here!

Great night out! Second time at a comedy club and definitely the best (could be we enjoyed the comedian more than the last, we saw Sammy Obeid.) The venue gives fun speakeasy vibes and definitely a great spot to hang before and after the show. Come at door opening if you want good seats. I wasn't hungry so I didn't get any food, but the fries from my neighbors looked good. The servers were on top of it. Quite impressed. Was worried that Sammy was going to do the same jokes that he has posted on social media, but he said, if he posts a joke he takes it out of his act. Also, every 6-8 months his act changes. Excited to check him out the next time he's in town. Thoroughly enjoyed his act. Above mid for sure Excellent performance.

Cool, now let's get to the real reason I'm leaving a 5-star review: the CAESAR SALAD. Holy cow. This Caesar was the Caesar of my dreams. It was dressed to perfection with crumbled croutons and a generous serving of cheese. The photos speak for themselves. Our bartender even went to the kitchen to fetch peperoncino for us since we wanted a "PeperTini". Great service in a beautiful space. It's on the pricey side but makes for a really great night out that feels exclusive and boujee.

Never thought I would be the victim of assault but alas, here we are. What made the situation worse was Tony, the security guard chose to believe the 22 year old girls who assaulted me instead of me and my shiner, then gaslit me and told me that I must've been the one being the asshole. Sorry to no longer go to a place that usually brings in good djs but I cannot abide the crowd. Super over it. Will not be returning ever, no matter the headliner. One too many negative experiences. Should've stopped a long time ago.

I came here the other day and it was strictly EDM with a trance-like vibe. The place was pretty dead, and the go-go dancers they had only danced for a couple songs and just hung out with their friends. The bathroom was dirty and 3 out of 4 toilets were clogged. For an empty Friday night, you would think that they'd offer specials to lure in more people, get you to drink more, and have fun, but $24 for 3 weak and fruity shots was overpriced for me.

Everyone ducked and I still didn't get the memo until my friend grabbed me and I thought... Why am I on the floor? I need to stop drinking. The bouncers come out and throw this little guy on the curb who couldn't be more than 5'4 and weigh 100 lbs. You needed 3 bouncers for that? If this guy really had a gun then why did no one call the cops? I'm confused at this point. Anyway we get in and it's chaos. Why would they let us in if it was so crowded? Does this place not know what maximum capacity is? When I say "shoulder to shoulder" I'm being rather nice. It was more like lips to lips and every time I passed someone we would bump and they would spill their drink on me. Who doesn't like leaving the club sticky? The people here are.. Well to be blunt- trashy. It seemed like everyone here wanted to start a drunken fight with another random person. Baggy pants! Baggy pants everywhere! Belts don't exist here, neither does class. For a dive bar this place rocks! It's unfortunate their landlords took the parking away. This bar deserves to stay open as one of our only safe places.

Admittedly I haven't been the most…read moreconsistent patron over the years, but in that time I've seen the club slowly, and seemingly very suddenly, devolve from a dive bar with some level of respect for its patrons to a dive bar that's as lost as the current set of bartenders it employs behind its well. Don't get me wrong, I love my local gay dive bar - the patio is prime real estate, the billiards and darts are in playing condition, the dance floor is just the right size to get lost in, and the community is the very definition - but it should not take 30 minutes to get a drink, no matter how cheap the drinks are and no matter how slow or busy the joint gets. The toiles should not be covered in the same shit stains from the day, let alone the weeks(!), before. The speakers should not be so loud that you cannot communicate with the bartender or the person sitting next to you. With that said, I would say Club Try-Angles is actually entering a new "gayday" the likes of which I've never seen - blame it on all the new development around Central 9th and along Harvey Milk Boulevard. The community is more diverse, the crowds are bigger, and the camaraderie is louder! All wonderful things, but things the bar is showing it's no longer in the condition to support. If this staple of the queer community is going to thrive into the next decade, or even survive the next few years, it's going to need more TLC than its currently getting. Small things, like utilizing both sets of patio doors, cleaning the bathrooms, and strategically turning down the music would go a long way in showing that Club Try-Angles cares for its community. Additionally, reorganizing the well to be more efficient would go a long way to improving the time it takes to get a drink. Bartenders should not be bumping into each other in order to make every. single. drink! In this time of growth and change, what I would hate more than ever is for another VC Firm to buy the bar out from under us and put up a parking lot. We deserve to have this space, and we deserve to have this space show up for and represent those of us who claim Pride!
