Normally casino restaurants will have a good value for some good food but Nibi broke the mold. The slivers of crab legs and the lobster tail they say was way more than what was served were totally tasteless and priced at least 4 times over market price. HORRIBLE OVERPRICED FOOD. Hot radish sauce and au jus was sitting on the side. The wife enjoyed the 8 oz Filet. Our side dish was au gratin potatoes. Try their FENN VALLEY, 42 Ice Wine . My husband made reservations to go to this restaurant for my birthday. As you enter the restaurant, the atmosphere was beautiful and so calming. We had a party of four and were seated in a private room off the main dining area. It was quaint and cozy. Our waiter, Trevor, was the best. It was a busy Saturday night yet he was on top of it. He also had really great suggestions when it came to appetizers, main courses and desserts! We each decided to try a little bit of everything. The seafood appetizer was delicious. The Goat Cheese Fondue was so creamy and the jam that went with it was delicious and added a sweet element to the dish. Our main courses were so good. We could hardly eat all our food but we still did not want to miss out on dessert. The oysters were really good quality. The king crab was so worth the money and I love how they come cut so you don't have to work for your food, you just get to enjoy it! The steaks were cooked to our preference and the sea bass was so tasty! It may have been pricey but I don't mind spending the money on quality food and that's what you will find here. While staying at Firekeepers for a weekend getaway me and my husband and another couple went here dinner on a Friday evening. We made a reservation to make it easier to dine in and we were immediately seated upon arrival. It is very nice on the inside, the restaurant sits to the right of the entrance of the hotel check-in area. They have those tablet menus which are a pretty cool touch. We ordered some adult cocktails, which were all very good. All of our food was really good and the wait between our appetizers and entrees was not long at all. Our waitress was really nice and very attentive. Some items are a little over priced but I feel like that's expected because it's located within the casino. read more

This was our honeymoon dinner. Everything was for lack of a better word perfect. The food was amazing the drinks were on point. The cost ...well I don't know. An anonymous couple bought us a bottle of champagne. By the time we finished our dinner and our bill came they bought us dinner as well. The place was amazing the atmosphere the was sublime. Our server was amazing I hate that I don't remember her name. The menus is mostly Al la cart. It's a great experience if you have the chance this is a must stop. We went here for my friends birthday celebration. Its one of the only spots where you can eat inside at this point. We all arrived early and our appointment was at 8pm. It took some time to be seated as they were limited. There is also no time limit on how long people can stay. We decided to grab a drink at the bar. We we called about 40 minutes after our reservation. We were seated and given touch screens to order from. They had seafood, steak, fish, pasta, etc. There was a good variety to choose from. I opted for a side of scallops, lobster chowder and the lamb entree. My friends got the seafood combo and steak. The lobster chowder was excellent. It had a great smoky flavor and plenty of lobster. The seafood mix was also shared at the table. It was a seafood lovers heaven. Lobster, shrimp, shredded crab and crab legs. It was fresh and great. The river steak was hugh. I tasted a piece and was cooked to perfection. The lamb was also good but I was so full that I had to take most of it home. The prices will set you back but it was worth the meal. The good: Waitstaff is fantastic! The bread basket is wonderful and so pretty! The sorbet before main course is great addition, which they have always had, however, things have changed. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The ambiance was loud but it was an event night, and they need more faux fires or something , just felt off.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] First of the prices! This should not be 3 $ signs it should be 4$$$$! Last year we had the wedge salad and it was glorious, an actual large wedge beautifully dressed. This year, just awful! About three bites of lettuce and some blue cheese smear on bottom? Wish I took a picture! One filet mignon without any sides is ugly, lonely and cheap! $60 for just that solo steak, and charged 9,50 for mashed potatoes side we didn't order. The French onion soup used to be just that, a full crock bubbling almost over, now some soaked bread in just a half filled crock!!! The price went up for that as well, but the soup itself is not that expensive to make! My fish dish, sea bass, was well cooked and seasoned, but the risotto was much less than last time and a bit undercooked. I get it, food costs a bit more but $60 for a fish dish, that's a shame! It's our 3rd time eating at Nibi and unfortunately our last. I would not recommend eating here if you can't eat bread because that is needed to fill you up! I wanted to like this place, I really did. In the end our experience was decidedly mixed. To begin with the restaurant is positioned in a part of the resort where it's a long multiple bay windows. In our case this meant that there was a terrible draft. It's difficult to affect climate control in an environment like this, and unfortunately it meant we were chilly for almost our entire visit. I have a particular standard when the menu is this expensive, and unfortunately most of the food we had was underwhelming. Had we been paying 30 or 40% less it wouldn't have been an issue. My wife went with the porterhouse steak, and commented that it wasn't seasoned very well and was slightly overcooked besides. I acknowledge that we could've sent it back but we had other things to get to. I ordered the chicken, which was rotisserie style with a handful of accompaniments on the plate. It was fine, certainly nothing special for what we were paying. Our server was terrific. A real sweetheart who checked on us multiple times during the meal. Very sincere and polite. First time going to Nibi was this weekend. I was invited as a guest to a birthday celebration in their private dining area. Chef Mason and team put on 9 course chef tasting menu for the event. To sum it up in a word: amazing. The staff was second to none. I didn't have to ask for anything the entire time. Each course was paired with a drink. The attention to detail and the presentation was as good as I've ever seen. This was a Michelin star level dining experience. I have no idea how often, if ever, this is done at Nibi. I can only say this should be a regular offering as it was one of the best food experiences of my life. Would love to give a higher review. We visited twice while on a work trip. The first night, Thursday Aug. 8th, was fantastic. We sat at the bar and split apps, a large filet, scallops and potatoes. A few glasses of Jordan. Everything was perfect. On point. We went back because of such a great experience on Sunday, August 11th, because of such a great meal earlier in the week. We sat down at the bar again and ordered the same order, except with brussels sprouts. Our 12oz filet came out well done instead of medium. It's unusual for me to send anything back. But feeling conflicted over an overcooked 64 dollar steak, I asked Ashley of it would be possible to see if they could fix the situation with a new steak. If this were Outback, I wouldn't think twice about proceeding to eat an overcooked steak. She was fantastic and told us not to feel bad, they would replace it. The steak came out about 20 minutes later, which we didn't mind waiting. We enjoyed some more Jordan and our sides. Manager Jeremy brought out the new steak. He proceeded to slam it down and forcefully say "Please cut into this one to make sure its to your liking." It felt extremely uncomfortable and aggressive. No apology, not even a hello or enjoy. Once we said it looked perfect, he turned and walked away. It was completely unacceptable service, especially for a manager of what appears to be an upscale steakhouse in the area. To be fair, the second steak was perfect. Our entire meal was perfect and we thoroughly enjoyed it as well as our bartender, Ashley. We finished our wine and steak and moved back to gambling, enjoying our evening. But even as I write this, Jeremy just leaves a blemish on such a fun evening. Very rich and deep in flavor. And the lobster was perfectly cooked. I opted for the French onion soup. Likely the best bowl of that I have had. Deep. Luscious. Luxurious. For the entrees, I had the 22 ounce ribeye (bone in). Wow. Perfectly cooked. Thick. Better than the ribeye I had a few days ago in Miami Beach. Much better. A side of au gratin potatoes tagged along. Pretty good. My wife ordered the sea bass, served on a bed of risotto. Amazing. Tender and flaky fish perfectly seasoned. And the risotto? Creamy goodness. Great wine list. Great service. Ok our latest experience at Nibi has left me eating crow a bit. My first review back from our first experience in 2017 was much different. We again received a voucher for food and hotel stay at Firekeepers. We figured we would try the food again and see if things had changed. Again staff was very friendly and helpful. Our waitress actually remembered us which we were a bit perplexed by. I suspect because we actually tipped on what our meal bill would be without the voucher. I feel sorry for waiters and waitresses when someone doesn't tip appropriately for good service. You have to look at what you should be paying when tipping not what the total is minus the comps... sorry off my soapbox. The setting and ambiance were the same chic and cool atmosphere. The wine list is on a tablet and staff was very helpful in guiding a choice when our first was out. The menu has changed and I think every good restaurant should stay on top of seasonal ingredient changes as well as keeping what they serve fresh and new. I will again say that this is not a place for diners looking for an inexpensive meal. Everything is a la cart and it adds up quickly. But I don't mind paying for these more high end refined meals when the quality and flavor is there. The salads came and were delicious. My girl's steak came and was seasoned well and cooked to order. The huge helping of mushrooms and onions (though $10) was enough for anyone. My fish came well seasoned and cooked to perfection. The risotto though well seasoned was just a tad under cooked. The overall meal experience was great. We were too stuffed to attempt dessert. From the other diners who ordered it they looked amazing. We walked out full as could be and happy we decided to come back and try Nibi again. If you're in the area or staying at Firekeepers I would definitely suggest trying Nibi. read more

Came here on Thursday for an anniversary dinner. We live 2 hours away, but firekeepers casino gave us 125$ in free play and 75$ towards dinner at a restaurant of our choice. This seemed to be the only restaurant at the casino worth coming to. Nibi is small but very cute. The service was perfect. Our server came around when we needed her and was so polite. We had the pork belly for our app. Which was awesome. If ur Filipino and reading this it tasted like adobo. So good. We shared the Caesar salad. Which was okay for a Caesar salad. I had the ribeye which was served with asparagus and some roasted potatoes and my fiancé had the scallops with risotto. The risotto was awesome! We got a complimentary dessert for our anniversary and I was upset they didn't write happy anniversary on the plate but to my surprise it was actually on a piece of chocolate. So cute. I was recently here on vacation visiting friends & we opted to hit up Nibi for dinner because I hate to say it but Battle Creek is a big snooze of a city & the casino is pretty much one of the only things to do! Anyway, we went to Arcadia Brewing on Friday night (I reviewed that place as well) and then opted for something a little more fancy for Saturday night. Well if you want "fancy" the only place to go is the casino so that's where we went...it didn't hurt that we knew the chef either & obviously he was the one who suggested it to us. Don't worry though, we didn't get anything that wasn't on the menu! Before we went to the restaurant we found a menu for the place online so I had an idea of what I wanted but when we arrived the menu was different & had some similarities but had been updated. I should note that they do not offer their menu online & that bothered me (I found it via Google from some collective restaurant menu site). I'm not a seafood fan at all so there weren't any appetizers that appealed to me which sucked because I was looking forward to the pork belly on the menu I saw. I chose to have their French Onion soup as my appetizer & my friend had some sort of scallop dish with various dipping sauces. She said hers was good...I took her word for it & mine was very tasty...thick but not too thick but it could have used more cheese. For the main course I had the chicken with white truffle gnocchi & it was super tasty, I wanted to eat the whole meal & lick the plate but I had to save room for dessert so I took some of the food home & it reheated well the next day. My friend had the sea bass & she said it was very good as well though she spent so much time taking photos of the food presentation that I was almost done eating & I had to tell her to stop & eat it before it got cold. Now the best part...dessert! I had some sort of molten chocolate something or other that was like a cake in a skillet with a gooey middle topped with an amaretto cherry ice cream & it was to die for. The lack of stars is based purely on the service. The food was surprisingly good. This easily could have been 3 to 4 stars with better service. I ordered the Chef's Tasting Menu, which I thought was a value @ $35. Out of the three choices, I went went the Warm Spinach Salad with a Quail Egg. The dressing was bland, and the spinach wasn't that "warm". The quail egg was cooked just a little too much, but that is what made the dish acceptable -- as well as the plentiful amount of bacon. My next selection was the Yellowfin Tuna w/ Yuzu Miso sauce and a Jalapeno relsih, which I did wait over 40 minutes to get. The tuna was a touch over cooked and under seasoned, but the sauce and the relish made up for it. The dessert plate offered three micro-plates, which were all fine. The setting is reasonably upscale. Very modern and trendy decor, with tons of ambient lighting (the bar has pulsing blue lights coming through the counter top). The service was just poor... Not that my server wasn't pleasant, but not very attentive, and there was just too much time between courses. In addition, waiting 20 minutes after getting my bill to process it. read more

So for Valentine's Day this year we decided to finally try Nibi. The prices for a la carte proteins seemed extreme, so we were hopeful that the Valentine's Day special would pique our interest, which unfortunately it didn't, but despite calling to try to find out what it was and checking the website the day of like we were told to, we didn't find out until we were in seat. Since it was a special occasion, we were given an amuse-bouche of salmon belly. I have never really cared for salmon in the past, but I decided to take a chance and try it anyway. Turns out I still don't like salmon, even if it's prepared at a more exclusive restaurant. My husband smartly just left his on the spoon. Perhaps they should have chosen a more widely accepted appetizer, but that's just my opinion. We decided to try the quail as our actual appetizer, and although I know how small quail is, I foolishly thought they'd include a little more than 2 wings and 2 drumsticks. It's presentation almost seemed like watching one of those miniature cooking shows on Facebook. I will say for what was there, it was quite good, it could have been seasoned slightly better. My husband and I both decided on the filet for dinner, I opted to get a scallop and a few shrimp as well, as the seafood was a la carte as well. I also ordered the béarnaise sauce. My husband enjoyed his steak, but I found mine to be unevenly cooked and very peppery. The shrimp were big, but slightly overcooked, the scallop was perfect and I wish I would have just ordered that (it wasn't an option). The béarnaise sauce was average. Again, since it was Valentine's Day, we were given 2 chocolate covered strawberries that were quite good. I decided to propose to my girlfriend at Nibi and reached out to the management to arrange a surprise dinner with my large family and I'm so glad I did.  Chris and Michael went above and beyond to help me set this up and even set up a call with Kellie the pastry chef who worked with me to design a custom dessert (see attached image) to pop the question.  Olivia was our waitress and helped make the whole experience unforgettable with her fantastic service!
