I was so happy I found this place ! This is not the usual area where I "search" for phos but it was so cold that I decided to find a pho spot. I walked by the restaurant around 3 times and not notice the restaurant I knew it's going to be good . The moment I walked i felt like I was in a sunny , airy , sun room with a lot of plants and cozy tables . It immediately put me at ease and calm. There are no waiting staff at locations as the person taking your order in front will bring your food to you . This is my first time trying chicken/ turkey and some other bird pho. It was so delicious that I would definitely go back again to try their banhmi. Please note that they don't serve beef soup base. It's what I called a specialized chicken pho spot . And they also got vegan choices as well. The soup was flavorful yet not too salty. The chickens / turkey (dark meat) were really good as well. The noodle is very unique as it was my first time trying that type of noodle . it's silky yet soft . I usually don't finish the soup but I did there and that speaks volume how good it was .

Pork bun

This is a 4.5 - 3 if you are from Houston and a traditionalist and a 5 if you are looking for a creative viet place. So I rounded it to a 4.5. It is not traditionally viet food. But food is not bad. Their take on pho ga is more spiced and a different spice to a typical pho ga. So we definitely had a hard time getting used to. It is a very good bowl of chicken noodle soup though! And they give you half a chicken! We had so much chicken, I needed a box to just box the chicken back. The noodles is a slightly thicker version of the typical pho noodles. But, it is not the fresh northern thick pho noodles from places in Houston or Cali. Pork bun is tender pork belly (again not typical) with a carrot dressing (like Japanese carrot salad dressing) with various veges. They gave us pickled purple cabbage and another pickled cabbage which was also surpising. They had have a large assortment of sauces that you can top the bowl off with. I still finished it up without a problem but just know it's a good bowl, just not a typical viet pork bun. Either case, vibes were great. It's a small cute place so I think it's def worth giving it a try.

Pho Bánh Mì

I love this restaurant it's right near my house. The food is always great here. I was disappointed however when I found this piece of plastic in my sandwich. I truly never write reviews, & I get accidents happen but I was sorta disappointed by the lack of urgency they seemed to have when I called to just make them aware. They asked if I was okay but didn't offer to comp my meal or anything further than just, "that's awful"....

Cozy local place in Ridgewood, Brooklyn! Only a walk in but it was full of locals :) Authentic Vietnamese dishes you should worth it to try out! we loved Shrimp spring rolls! So fresh and tasty! Papaya salads are so flavorful! The cozy place decorated with interesting arts and stuff! There is not so many authentic Asian restaurants around. You should try it :)

"Grilled Lemongrass" Chicken Bánh Mì hardly grilled or lemongrass

They charged me $21 for one of the worst Bahn Mi I ever had, food was bland chicken still pink undercooked stale bread and terrible sauce. I paid $8 for a lemongrass Bahn Mi earlier this week that was actually authentic and miles ahead of whatever this is. I know Brooklyn I'm getting gentrified but this is awful I guess these transplants will pay for overpriced bland food in some aesthetic looking restaraunt but I feel like I just wasted my money I didn't even want to finish it. The staff was rude looked at me like I was crazy when I was surprised it was over $20 for this little 8 inch sandwich, overall disappointing experience will never go back. I've never felt the urge to review food on Yelp before but this made me make my first post.

Cutest little place food was fresh and delicious and they have a little sauce bar. Very nice girl idk her name that took our order and food comes quick. Inside the restaurant is super cute and family style.

This is the best Vietnamese restaurant I've visited. It's an Asian fusion food place. Since leaving the SF Bay Area, I've struggled to find Vietnamese food that compares, but today I was pleasantly surprised. Despite the absence of beef on their menu, I thoroughly enjoyed the Bird Cage Phở. The staff member said sometimes it has pheasant. Today it was a chicken and turkey mixture. It has flavor and is better than most places I've been to that either lacked flavor or tried to make the soup sweet. The shrimp summer roll, though smaller than most, was delicious with grilled shrimp instead of the usual boiled. The Nhà Mình soy milk was outstanding and brought back memories of home. It was refreshing to see unique vegan and seafood Vietnamese options on the menu. Additionally, I love the cat art and plants here.

I thought my friend was taking me to a hipster Vietnamese cafe and gallery in Ridgewood, and I was right. But I enjoyed this hidden gem so much I wanted to highlight it -- with the Vietnamese grandmas cooking up authentic flavors in the kitchen and the airy, plant-filled aesthetic. Nha Minh is a beautiful local spot in the Ridgewood neighborhood of Queens, New York. Go for the food and coffee, stay for the aesthetics and local art.

Vietnamese Breakfast & hair in sauce

I visited the mid-autumn festival in Bushwick and was hungry so I stumbled upon this restaurant which I believed was partnered with the festival. I ordered the iced Vietnamese coffee ($6) and the Vietnamese breakfast ($10). Vietnamese coffee was solid, nothing special. I was told the Vietnamese Breakfast would take 35-40 mins. We waited for our food for around 50-55 minutes and this is what we got. Also, the staff kind of forgot about us and asked us around the 40 minute mark what we ordered... They gave us a cold baguette that didn't melt in your mouth. 3 room temperature eggs that leaked on the bread, making it soggy. And, I didn't take a closer picture of this, but a hair in our Maggi sauce if you check the zoomed up screenshot from one of the other pictures. Save yourself time & your taste buds and go elsewhere for Vietnamese food.

Nha Minh is a Vietnamese restaurant. I was very satisfied with this meal. I got a Butter Chicken Bun rice bowl. It had some yummy veggies as well and the whole vibe of the restaurant was great!

Maybe the worst banh mi I've had in the city, no liver spread, no mayo, vegetables didn't even taste pickled. Not a baguette, just a regular sandwich roll. To charge this much money as an authentic banh mi is laughable.

Culantro (Eryngium foetidum)…read more My favorite pho place in Queens switched to culantro from the usual Asian basil as fresh herb garnish. Culantro is a long narrow leaf with sawtooth edges. I haven't seen this in the Northern Philippines. It doesn't look appetizing in this picture but it does taste good, as if the crinkles were intended to make it more flavorful (has to fact check this assumption). I like culantro. This herb is bright, zesty and greatly enhanced the light and clear broth of the pho. A staff member said it's just a seasonal change. The herb for cha gio remains the same, fresh mint. #curious_eater

I already knew the area wasn't the best looking area, so that part didn't surprise me. But the restaurant itself was something I had never experienced before in NYC. I'm a huge food lover and I'm willing to travel when I'm craving something specific. I've eaten everywhere, from high-end restaurants to tiny family owned spots. But this was by far the dirtiest restaurant I've ever been to in New York City. I genuinely wonder how the health department hasn't shut this place down. Since I was already there and hungry, I decided to take the risk and give it a shot anyway. I regret it. I honestly felt bad about allowing myself and my wife to eat there. The walls near the kitchen and bathroom were disgusting, the tables were dirty, and if you sit near the kitchen, you can literally see the staff grabbing basil leaves and bean sprouts with their bare hands to serve customers. No gloves, no tongs, nothing. I was honestly speechless about the hygiene situation. At one point, a waitress brought herself a summer roll, stood right next to our table, grabbed sauce from another customer's table, and started eating while standing there. There was so much going on in that place that I honestly can't even explain it properly. If you ask me about the food itself, I don't think it was bad. But at the same time, I can't give a fair opinion because my brain simply wouldn't let me enjoy the meal peacefully while constantly noticing the chaos and lack of cleanliness around me. I would not recommend this place if hygiene and cleanliness matter to you. This place is unbelievably dirty.

Since we were one of the first ones to arrive, we got seated a few minutes after they opened. The Banh Mi's: I finally understand why people rave so much about the OG Banh Mi. This restaurant makes their own cold cuts and their paté was delicious. Their bread is also on the airier side, which is very different from most Banh Mi places. The grilled pork had the charcoal flavor that we love from a grill. The Banh Uot Chong is a different experience -- it reminded me of Chinese cheun fun. The only complaint I have is that the line gets very long very fast, so it's highly recommended to arrive 1+ hour before they open. They do have some stools outside for people who arrive early (I think there were a total of 8 chairs). This is one of those places that are worth the hype and are not just famous because they're "Instagrammable."

Banh Anh Em is deserving of its Michelin Guide recognition because, in a city where Vietnamese food…read moreis plentiful, Banh Anh Em stands out with its unique renditions of classics. Perhaps, their version is actually authentic, and the other places I've tried are less so, or they're simply based on different regions of Vietnamese cuisine. I can't say since I'm not familiar with the authenticity and regional differences. The banh mi, which often sells out early but is available for takeout, surprisingly contains pork floss and noodles -- both ingredients are not what I'm accustomed to in banh mis. The house pho was so clean like homemade soup and had a hint of ginseng (like Chinese ginseng soup). My partner, who loves Chinese ginseng soup, was so fond of the pho that he actually went back again for it on another day. He also got the banh uot Chong again, which is a tower of five rice rolls that you can build yourself with assorted toppings and dipping sauces. It's a bit steep for $30 but delicious I advise coming here at least half an hour before the restaurant opens to join the line of people queuing. You'll probably be part of the first batch of customers who get seated when they open. Waiting an extra 30 minutes is way better than having to wait 2+ hours. Unfortunately, I was disappointed by how off their estimated wait time was. I was told my party of 7 would have to wait 2 hours. But we were allowed to leave our contact information and return later. A little past the 2 hour mark, we were told to come back for a table. However, we ended up waiting an additional 30 minutes outside the restaurant! If we knew the wait time would surpass 2 hours, we wouldn't have waited. The interior is pretty cramped, and we were given a pretty small round table for my big party. It barely fit all our dishes.

It has come to be a blessing in disguise for this humble spot because this brings in traffic and potential customers wanting to do right by the restaurant at least much better than that shady reviewer did. Backstory aside, seeing this place for the first time, it looks like a small restaurant from the outside but it's a very long spot complete with a backyard for outdoor dining. Service is very attentive and courteous, they do their best to make your stay as pleasant as possible and things like this are noted and appreciated because a good vibe can really make the experience when eating at any establishment. For lunch I ordered the Grilled Lemongrass Chicken w/ Rice and the Porkchop Banh Mi. The Lemongrass Chicken with rice was made very well and tasted delightful. The Banh Mi sandwich also made for a solid appetizer. You definitely get a good money's worth for your meal because it definitely filled me up so one of the entrees is good enough if you're eating solo. Still, overall, I really really enjoyed it! The grilled beef over vermicelli was solid, fresh and flavorful, but the small container of fish sauce wasn't quite enough to tie everything together.
