A new restaurant serving Vietnamese food opened three weeks ago at the southwest corner of Hwy 48 and Hwy 7, one block east of the recycle depot.
We attended a lunch and ordered:
Deep fried spring roll
Tomato Crab Paste Vermicelli Noodle soup with soft shell crab, this is a specialty menu item
Ribeye Beef and Tendon Noodle soup
I liked the ribeye beef and tendon noodle soup, filled with tender pieces of the beef, many pieces of tendon, and fresh rice noodles and the broth was served steaming hot. Personally, the fried spring roll and soft shell crab tasted oilier than my liking.
I did not taste the Tomato Crab paste vermicelli noodle soup but my partner had it and found that the broth lacked the boldness in flavour and it was not served steaming hot so rather disappointing.
I would return for the Pho again and I would like to try the other specialties offered.
The service was attentive and the server asked whether I wanted the bean sprouts to be cooked or not, and I appreciated it.
The restaurant is very nicely decorated with a large picture of picturesque Hoi Ann at the bar. The restaurant was neat and clean.
Parking is available right outside the restaurant. read more
