I used Nexxus Remodeling for the 3rd time over a 10 year span for 2 houses. Once was a restoration and this time is a remodel. Each time Tony and crew came through with a awesome job. I needed all my windows replaced, exterior painting, and a kitchen remodel which was no small endeavor from the permit process to the finished product. I am so pleased that Nexxus Remodeling was available to do this project. The previous hardscape project was less than desirable and left me with some unfinished work. I thought Tony was to busy to add another project but he helped me through the semi-disaster with the other group and fortunately started the window and remodel project. The communication is such a welcome relief with Tony from start to finish. I thought I was a worrier, well Tony is twice that and keeps his word to the very end. The design of my kitchen under Tony's guidance turned out to be even better than I could imagine. His design skills along with color scheme recommendations are indescribable. I am so fortunate to have met Tony! Thank you so much!! read more

I had Carlos bid a complete interior paint job of my house and his bid came in at over double what other painters estimated. I cannot comment on his actual work, as we did not hire him. We ended up getting the job done at HALF the amount he quoted. I looked at a lot of different contractors posted on yelp, and I have to say, all of them were WAY overpriced and uncompetitive. read more

Before you make your final decision, it would be wise to give Carlos a call for a free estimate! Having 3 previous estimates, Carlos's flashy (in a good way) & professional business card was solicited on my front door. It impressed me so I decided to give him a call. I thought, what do I have to lose? I have a rule where any more than 5 estimates will give you a headache! I called him on a Thursday afternoon for him to come by & was surprised to hear that he would be coming in a few hours. I was expecting within the next couple of days. He was extremely polite when I spoke to him & I already got a good vibe from him. He arrived as promised, 10 minutes earlier even & we did a walk through around the entire house. Exterior, that is. He gave me recommendations & made me feel at ease when we were discussing the house. No extra sales pressure, no rushing...just honesty. WIthin 5 minutes I had my quote written on paper with a breakdown of the steps he will complete to do the job. I'd have to say I was already sold at that point considering the other 3 painters that gave me estimates. His price was very reasonable! I needed some references which he gladly gave to me & I called them that same night. Nothing but great comments from 2 of his references. We sealed the deal that night and he was ready to begin the following day. WHOOHOO! When Carlos says he & his staff will come at 7a.m., he means it!!! I swear all 5 days they worked on my house, they came in Carlos's truck, all dressed in white, very professional, polite, respectable of my property & ready for work! I never heard them being loud, talking too much or leaving any trash behind. All of their belongings were neatly tucked away in my back yard. Prep work was flawless all the way to completion. I could not have been any happier with Carlos & his guys. I never thought my 1920's house could look so beautiful! I will be happy to answer any questions you have about Carlos! :) Oh I almost forgot, not only does he do exterior painting, he also does interior, drywall, texture, high pressure washing & removal of those nasty popcorn (acoustic) ceilings! He will travel anywhere in the L.A. & surrounding areas. read more

I had some rather unsightly holes torn into my walls by plumbers that my HOA hired. Since I don't trust my HOA to hire competent painters, I gave Carlos a ring for a free estimate. He and his crew did a fantastic job restoring my walls to practically brand new. He even fixed some of the shoddy texturing that the previous owner did. Everything was done professionally and for a very reasonable price. I'm very pleased with the work Carlos did. I plan on bringing him back next year to fix some of the unsightly cracks and patches left behind by the previous owner of my condo. Highly recommend Carlos & team. read more

My wife and I are starting several remodel jobs on our house and decided to start on the guest bathroom, we have no issue providing sweat equity where we can but sometimes we'll need help on a job we have never done before. Once we demo'd the bathroom and removed the toilet, sink, mirror, flooring etc. we were left with a empty room and several large Wall holes and huge chips to the wall. I stink at drywall so I looked around and found Carlos, great reviews so I decided to call. Carlos showed up on a Tuesday to look things over and made several suggestions, he showed up the following morning (on time) ready to go. He left my bathroom ready for paint, primer and ready to tile. Carlos dry walled where needed and filled and smoothed cracks even left the bathroom cleaner then I had left it. Carlos saved us time and money . read more

Tony is my family's go to person when it comes to remodeling and construction needs. If you are looking for a quality remodel and don't want to worry all day about whether they get it right, Tony is your guy. My house did not need a ton of cosmetic changes, so I did not take any before photos, but please take a look at his website/yelp for the possibilities that his team can do. Personally, here is the list of things he handled for us: 1) Painting the inside 2) Painting the outside 3) Drywall Patching and Repair 4) Refinishing the hardwood floors 5) Installing and fixing gutters 6) Repairing the roof 7) Switching to a tankless water heater 8) Retrofitting the foundation to be earthquake compliant. 9) Electrical Repair 10) Carpentry woodworking 11) Change the bathroom vanity and plumbing. I've been more than pleased with the job and quality of work exhibited. Aside from my house, I was present when my parents used him for their house's remodel and the work he did there was amazing. Previously, my family used a shoddy contractor who cut a lot of corners (e.g. putting no water barrier around tubs/showers), but Tony rectified all of that and did things the right way. In fact, when my parent's gutters were installed and they went through two rainy seasons, they noticed how the gutters could be improved. We told Tony and he fixed it two years later with no charge! This is a man who wants to make sure your stuff is right AND that you are pleased. Aside from the excellent quality of work, Tony has a good sense of design and can give good recommendations on what someone should do. I found that refreshing because other contractors simply want to be told what to do and don't operate as good soundboard for ideas. Many times, people have a rough idea what they want, but lack the experience and vision to execute. Tony has the experience and design eye to supplement your vision. Tony also wants to make sure you are happy with your place, so this means if you find something wrong or not to your liking, he will find a proper solution. All in all, I've been very pleased with Tony's services. For any large and serious renovation, I will definitely use Tony because I know the work will get done, it will be great and I will be happy. He is someone I will recommend time and time again to everyone who needs a great contractor. read more

Amazing at every turn! Carlos and his super professional crew painted the interior of our condo recently and we could not be happier. As the other reviews state, he is always prompt and very professional, from the moment I called for the first quote to the very last moments of cleaning up and heading out. His crew did an awesome job of prepping my place, spending hours setting up the job just right, then did a picture perfect job of painting, taking super great care of all of our furniture, carpet, communal hallways, cats, and so on, and did the whole thing quickly as well. The estimate was very reasonable and the job cost exactly what he stated. He also was very helpful designing the look of the rooms, making great suggestions and letting me know when I had an idea that I probably wouldn't like once I saw it on my walls. I appreciated the honesty, since he clearly has great instincts for this sort of thing - I was really grateful he shared his expertise, especially once I saw the final job! Carlos is dependable, great at what he does, works for very reasonable rates, and takes a lot of care to do the job right - I hope he's never too big to take our calls, but he should be endlessly in demand very soon - call now while he's still growing his business - you won't be disappointed!! read more

FEARLESS AND TAKE CHARGE TONY GETS JOB DONE! I am the owner of rock legend "Jim Morrison's Last Known U.S. Home" a 6 u. W. Hlwd. apt. bldg. I thought I'd try Angie's list to find a Gen. Con. to resolve a staircase & balcony Notice of Violation issue. I contacted a few dozen to get bids. Many didn't respond or had excuses. A few attempted to talk to the City of Weho for details, but eventually fell by the wayside. In the end, there was only one man left standing and that was Tony. He went above and beyond the call of duty, going to the city day after day for weeks talking to various depts. until he got answers, not accepting their runaround. I found Tony to be very knowledgeable, professional, honest, and dedicated. It was Tony who discovered my situation had become even more complicated with the city who had taken it to a whole new arena of "Historical" significance, which ultimately made the intended job more complicated and financially devastating so that I could not pursue the original job with Tony as planned as he was my 1st choice for the job. Tony never asked me for money, referrals, or to leave a review. He never asked for anything, but gave his everything. As a licensed realtor who has been in the Real Estate business for over 40 yrs. as an investor, developer, landlord, Vacation Rentals host, and CEO of Cheri Woods Rentals, I have no hesitation in saying to others you cannot afford NOT to hire Tony, if you want someone professional who knows what they are doing to take charge of your project, as there are too many con artists out there who will take your money and run. read more

I just had Painting by Carlos finish the interior of my house in Silver Lake last week. They were professional, helpful with decisions on what would look best and very careful and detailed. I own a triplex in Westwood, my tenets are very demanding people. Carlos was able to professionally communicate with my tenets, which is very important to me as a landlord. He charged a reasonble fee for his service. His large crew worked well and seemed to be very organized. The job was completed in a timely fashion. The place was cleaned up and everything was put back in place. read more

They were an incredible help to me today. While they weren't right for me on the commercial side for our first store we are trying to open (they only do residential), Tony was willing to advise me and refer me to the right people. Carlos did a great job, he is a true perfectionist and that trait has been passed down to his crew. Everything covered with plastic including the floors, everything masked as needed, even for a small touch up job, detailed prep work. One of his guys had to walk into an area that had carpets and he took off his shoes before making the transition into the carpeted area. A good paint job takes patience and an almost obsessive attention to detail. Carlos and his crew will not disappoint. He and his crew love dogs too. He definitely gets 5 woofs. Callahan read more

I found Carlos through a friend who found Carlos through YELP. I am happy to write that he and his crew (Hugo and Oscar) did a great job painting my townhouse. They were punctual (even early some days), professional, and very fastidious. In addition to a great paint job - on high ceilings, walls, stairwell, etc, Carlos removed the base moulding on my hardwood floors and cut new beautiful moulding, which he then secured and painted. I had a lot of difficulty (and ambivalence) about paint colors which Carlos also helped me with (i.e. painting samples, talking about the light, coordinating colors, explaining finishes, etc.) In a nutshell, Carlos and his crew did a fantastic job for a reasonable price. I will hire them again when I am ready to paint my upstairs bedrooms! read more

Carlos and his crew just finished painting the interior trim of our home after our previous painter did a substandard job. He is worth the money. His estimate was by far the best. He beats anyone's price without even knowing it. Why he 5 stars 1. high quality work 2. efficient---they are in an out painlessly 3. excellent price 4. accessibility--he always answers his phone 5. on the spot estimate with no additional charges during the process 6. no nickel and diming 7 polite and professional 8. daily oversight of the work of his crew 9. fair, honest, and reasonable I got estimates from many people on yelp but Carlos can not be beat. He is an overall 5 star package. read more

This past weekend Carlos and his team painted our bathroom. Carlos was professional, quick and reliable. His team had the job done in a few hours and the price was right. Carlos and his crew did a great job painting my townhouse. Punctual, fast and professional. Carlos orginally told me it may be a 4 day project but he &his crew worked long hours and turned it around in two. He gave great advice as well. Do yourself a favor and go with the Porous Stone. read more

Carlos and his crew take professional painting to a whole new level. The crew did an excellent job, taking pains to get all of the details right so that the final product is magnificent. Highly recommend. read more

Professional Painting by Carlos are the best painters I have used. Carlos gives fair estimates and doesn't try to vary the "final cost" -- he and his team do an absolutely excellent job -- and they are very ethical and trustworthy. He told me how much it would cost, what time he would show up and that I couldn't find better painters anywhere. He was right on all counts. He said he and his crew would show up at 7am everyday. They weren't even one minute late. When does that ever happen in the "real" world? I still don't see one drop of paint anywhere but the walls. They take their time to prepare for painting so as to be sure that no paint gets on any furntiure, draperies, floors, etc. Carlos and his team are professional in every way. I would use him again without thinking twice. I recommend Professional Painting by Carlos to anyone. read more

Last but not least Carlos and his team were very respectful to our serroundings and our family throughout the whole process. UPDATE: I called Carlos back to do some finishing work and accent walls and once again, A+++ all the way! Efficient, professional, amazing!! Carlos and his crew just finished painting the interior of our home. We hired him because his was the best of 4 estimates, and in addition he seemed very honest and knowledgeable. In addition to extensive prep work and painting, his crew also took down an old fireplace surround and framed and closed a large 'pass-through' that we wanted to close up. I give him 5 stars because the work was excellent quality, he is very polite and always accessible, his price was very fair, his crew was very respectful of our home (our furniture and floors were above and beyond protected) and they finished the work a day ahead of schedule. We would absolutely hire him again, and have already asked him to power wash the exterior of the home. read more

After bidding the job out to local contractors and not being happy with the price or the duration involved, I contacted Carlos as I read his great reviews in Yelp and I'm glad I did -- I've never met such a responsible and hardworking crew that does such great work. I needed to have my entire garage scraped and repainted (yes, including the floor and exposed ceiling pipes). I gave Carlos a call on a Thursday evening, he called me right back and gave me a ballpark estimate on the phone and arranged to meet me the next day to take a look and give me a more detailed quote. His final quote was close to what we discussed on the phone and more importantly the amount and duration beat the previous estimates I received. Based on this and Carlos' Yelp reviews, I decided to go with him. I wanted to get the work completed on a tight timetable and Carlos and his crew showed up at 7 am on a Saturday morning and worked their tails off for three days. They scraped, pressure-washed, primed, and painted. They did an incredible job -- it now looks like an automobile showroom. In addition to taking care of the garage for me, they also refinished and re-stained an intricate old patio teak table and chairs which now looks brand-new. Carlos and his crew are extremely neat, considerate, responsible, and hardworking AND they do great work. They have my unequivocal recommendation. read more

I found Carlos through Yelp, and he definitely deserves his five stars. I thought I knew exactly what I had wanted - and it turned out that I am horrible at picking colors. Carlos was to the rescue and actually recommended the colors I had envisioned. He and his crew were fast, proficient and friendly. His prices are good and my paint job was expensive only through my own fault for picking such awful colors! Word to the wise: Carlos has a great eye, let him make some recommendations! Thanks for a excellent job and I would recommend you to anyone! read more

I cannot comment on the quality of his work since I didn't hire him, but his price was higher than what other contractors charge.

I was a bit skeptical about finding a painter through Yelp since I generally use Angie's List for that sort of thing. After reading the reviews and looking at the pictures I decided to give Carlos a call. I'm pretty particular about painting have yet to hire back the same painter so Carlos was one of three new painters I had bid on the project. He's a super nice guy and doesn't give you the vibe that he's trying to pull one over on you. I think Carlos excels at service - always on time, great follow up, etc. His crew did a decent job for the price. The price is what bumped the review to 4 starts. There were small imperfections like a little paint on a switch plate, a blind not rehung correctly, occasional paint on the baseboard/moulding, etc. Not a perfect job, but adequate for the price. read more

Recommended unequivocally. It's difficult which aspect to highlight first because this crew excelled on every level. Carlos is friendly, polite and a buttoned up professional in every sense. His manner is one of ease and simple good will, (which is refreshingly reassuring and starts things off nicely) and the estimate for the job was identical to those of other five stars on Yelp. Once it's agreed what needs to be done, his crew comes in and works with precision and efficiency. They know what to do and what they're doing. They're fast, efficient and extremely effective. And, they're equally good at clean up. The quality of the crew says a lot about the guy who picked them, and to a one, they were skilled and completely genial. (I should have tipped them more.) No problems, no fuss, they were in and out every day on time and the house looks gorgeous. No question but I'd use them again. No brainer. Give them a call. read more

Tony from NEXXUS is fantastic. He's extremely knowledgable, has a TON of experience, and has a lot of great teams working for him. We hired Tony to paint our "new" (1911) house before we moved all of our possessions into it. I had not worked with a general contractor before, and all I knew was that they like to try to add, add, add to your project. Sure, Tony was no exception to this, BUT, the difference is that with Tony, he knew that there were things we would be better off doing before moving that we would never be able to do after - and there was not a single piece of work done that we would have been better off not doing. As a result, we ended up not only painting the whole interior, but also refinishing and re-staining the floors, re-sealing two exterior doors and replacing one exterior door, removing an interior door, adding crown molding details, re-plastered two whole walls and a ceiling, fixed lots of holes in the floors, replaced broken glass, and a lot of other miscellaneous this-and-that projects. I'm very happy that we went through Tony for all of this because done individually, it would have cost more, taken more of my time to manage, and not had our general contractor to back up the workmanship. Tony was on-site every day and picked up his phone every time I called. He is extremely responsive, which was very important to me. I will definitely be calling Tony again for any big future projects I have. read more
