Annette blamed this on COVID, but if you check her other reviews, you will notice she had done this many times before. And, every time it was geared towards men. I'm almost sure she went through a rough divorce and is now out to get even with all men in general. If you are a man and get her assigned to your case, ask the court for someone else or you will experience the same thing I did. Check her credentials, she is not even a psychologist, she is a social worker that became a therapist. When I asked her what it takes to become a TI she said nothing except knowledge about family court. This is not true! There's certain classes you have to take to qualify to be a TI and I'm sure she has none of them. So, ask her to provide proof to the court that she has the necessary certifications, and if she can't, then ask the court to dismiss her. She charges $175 an hour to have you go to a restaurant across the street and pay the bill. And, she's the only one talking. You will learn all about her dogs and how one has PTSD and take's Prozac because it's afraid of the dishwasher. How her daughter and grandson live with her, and so much more. I learned more about Annette than I learned about what my daughter was doing for the last year and a half. Once again, if you are a man and have Annette assigned to your case, I'd run. My ex-wife filed an order of protection stating I intended to kidnap our son, who I stayed home with since infancy and cared for while she developed a successful salesperson career. Unfortunately, I was minutes late for the hearing to dismiss the bogus kidnapping accusation. All Annette Ruskin had to do, her ONE job, was to reunite us so that she could see our relationship was stable and that my ex-wife cried "Kidnapper!" to win sole custody. But, our visits together (my son and I) never occurred. A Judge generally will receive unbiased information by someone in Annette's assignment. She was the self-described "case manager" so reports filter through her office and she forwards it to the Court. In my case, she falsified information and ignored a subpoena. Her role has immunity so she faces no consequence if she does something wrong. Of course, getting her to admit fault is impossible. Annette and I had a few initial sessions to familiarize ourselves with each other. It's therapy so naturally she had to check me out. Instead, Annette Ruskin continued session after session with no clear direction. She would say one thing in our private, recorded session and then something dishonest during the status checkups with the Judge telephonically. She deliberately disregarded subpoenas to provide full records and ultimately didn't respond until a few days prior to trial. The "progress" notes produced by Ms. Ruskin seemed chaotic and poorly written. No positivity with the subject (ME), at all. As if I was a tyrannical father hell bent on the destruction of the solar system, who never showed love nor gave hugs and kisses. But, on the contrary. I am a fit and loving father. Since the onset, I attempted to make numerous appointments with her office that either went unanswered or received a call back weeks later. I brought documents and videos, pictures and even other court matters but she dismissed them yet they all pertained to my case. She was constantly late to our sessions and incredibly pretentious. Above all, being fooled by a narcissist has to be an embarrassing addition to anyone's resume. My ex lied her ass off and Ms. Ruskin fell for it hook, line and sinker. Attachment-based parental alienation is counter intuitive and mental health "professionals" like Ms. Ruskin just can't admit they've been had. Who truly loses are the children kept from their other half. Pity... As a social worker, her ability to use her training and education were totally thrown out the window via her inability to focus on the scope of her appointment and consistently attempting to pawn me off to her providers. Twitter interruptions and cell phone nuisances were constant. Her lack of empathy and common sense prolonged a matter that should have been resolved efficiently. But stalled.... She currently owes me for a credit but I'm sure she'll produce new charges and continue to stall this process to profit her way to retirement. Her office is cluttered and lacks warmth. Hopefully, the bigger suite she relocated to will suit her giant ego. Karen, her assistant, is a pleasant lady. Glad to meet with her! Avoid this business unless you prefer wasting money. Pick another TI if you're court-mandated to do so. Thank me later! 2016 Update: Well, it only took so a few weeks but Annette Heywood Ruskin has depleted the balance in my account. The credit I had of over $343 has been reduced to -$95. I thought a skilled clinician would easily identify attachment-based PA, but I thought wrong. But, when the court grants immunity status to advocates like Ms. Ruskin, who has clearly found a niche with little to no oversight, abuses are profound. 2017 Update: Family Law Rules of Procedure amended Rule 72 (Jan.2017), which makes appointments like Ms. Ruskin a CHOICE! No longer are the families of Arizona required to hire a Special Master, which is what Ms. Ruskin essentially is. No longer are we bound to her assignment. We can CHOOSE to have someone in her capacity appointed by the Court and I encourage the parents to refuse social workers, therapeutic interventionists and CAA's (court-appointed advocates) to be involved in their Family Court case(s). I assure you, they will only make things worse. 2018 Update: Annette was finally removed from her appointment after 3 years and she didn't resolve a single issue. She'll never admit that she received over 2k from me and failed at her role. She consistently places blame on others. They were updating the apartments and they really make the best of the space. Many have sizable terraces, but the one we saw didn't have much of a view.
