Veggie Grill is a very solid chain that offers a good variety of vegan goodies. I always get their sweetheart (sweet potato) fries--that chipotle dipping sauce is omg! I've never had a bad time at Veggie Grill, except for once when I think they burnt my sweetheart fries, but everything else was good. Their "chicken" is great, but not gluten free for those who are intolerant. For those who need gluten free, don't be afraid to get their bowls--they're rather hearty and is just the right portion for those with a medium/medium-big appetite. This location is right in the middle of a bunch of other vegan chains and shops, but it holds its own very well with its consistent (for the most part) entrees and extensive menu. Do give it a try! read more

Disgusting. Ordered the caesar chicken wrap, burger, and nachos. Everything had way too much salt, so salty that it was inedible. Took one bite of each thing and threw it away. Made me sick. Disgusting, awful food. Don't know what happened, this place used to be good a couple of years ago, now it's garbage. read more

Do your customers' opinions matter? It's something every restaurant knows: good reviews boosts business while terrible ones can close you down. And, in the world of internet, everyone can be a critic. Vegi Grill, you can not take an order and leave it by the wayside and forget to call out that the order is ready. After twenty minutes, I did ask if our order was ready and was told it would take a few more minutes. Because we had parked in a twenty minute parking space, I asked my daughter to wait for the order and I'd wait for her in the car. The wait was so unnecessarily long, we were offered a We Care card for a free entree on our next visit. Problem is, the card expired June 17, 2017, and our visit to your Pasadena location was December 29, 2017! This is a huge customer service breakdown. A good restaurant must serve quality and tasty food and provide the best meal time experience to its customers to keep them coming back for more. Legacy mega chains like McDonald's and KFC have dominated the fast food market. The menu items are ALWAYS CONSISTENT in taste. Unfortunately for Veggie Grill, the items I had ordered in past, were never consistent in quality and taste. This is unfortunate. Perhaps this is the reason why a favorite of mine, the ban mi wrap and ban mi salad is no longer offered on the menu? All in all, it's an ok spot for vegans. Consistency lacks, as does its customer service. read more

This place is so much closer than Irvine or DTLA. I'm so glad that I don't have to drive that far. This place is superb. The place is right on the corner of Lake and Cordova. Food: I had the fish tacos and it was awesome, or maybe i was just super hungry. Parking: Ample parking in the back lot. Service: Very typical of Veggie Grill to have upbeat employees and team. Quick and efficient for how busy it was for the grand opening week. Visit this place! read more

Not my favorite Veggie Grill that I have been to but still good! Inside was very spacious and clean. You could see all the fresh ingredients in the kitchen. Food came out surprisingly quick! The only problem I had was the Mac and cheese. It did not taste like what I have had before and I did not enjoy it much. Had a weird plastic-y flavor. Plenty of parking in the back that is 90 minutes free! A lot of their menu items are good but this past weekend I tried the crab cake sandwich and did not care for it too much. It tasted fishier than actual crab which really put me off. Stick to the chicken! read more

Ordered via ubereats. This place has the audacity to sell Zico coconut water for $4.25. Wow. If I had known that's what it was I wouldn't have bought it. I truly don't understand why this place has four stars. I am stunned at the absolute mediocrity of this place. Everyone I know hyped VG up so much I decided that when I came here I was going to take a chance on a vegan LA institution. I ordered the Nashville Chicken Sandwich, fries and the mashed potatoes and every single thing came cold and tasted terrible. The fries, though well seasoned, were soggy and cold, the sauce for the chicken sandwich was metallic and the mock meat itself had a terrible texture and mouthfeel. The bun tasted stale. The mashed potatoes had no salt or flavor at all. I was starving but I threw out almost everything but the fries. You know the food is bad when you can't eat it when you are hungry. So much food and money wasted. Do not come here. read more

Kudos to the lentil soup. It has so much flavor, I could sip on it all day. Feeling extremely spoiled, because the variety of vegan food restaurants, their food quality, and amazing flavor has made my experience so much pleasant. At Veggie Grill, every possible craving you have, from grill chicken quesadilla to cheese burger, buffalo wings to sausage sub. It is a happy day there everyday! I was also told that they have different menu items when the seasons change. Can't wait to see what goodies are in store during the colder winter days. The lemonade is not over sweet, perfect balance and refreshing taste. read more

Long story short, disappointing. Long story: First of all, the cup they provided me with was super dirty. Food stains on it. The cashier said it was just dried water drops so I just sneak attacked myself another cup that was probably microscopically dirty but I was very parched and famished so I took what I could get. Secondly, the sandwich they brought barely had any dressing in it, it was very dry so I had to ask for more dressings. They are very stingy with the garnish. This is not the case at other veggie grills. Thirdly, they got our order wrong. I tried to make eye contact with the waitress while she looked incredibly lost with the correct order in her hand. I suspected that she didn't know where the order belonged to so my friend had to guide her to the right direction. She then took the wrong order and tossed in the trash. Sad. Food wasted. Starving African children will not be pleased. Last but not least, they gave me SOUR CREAM for the buffalo wings and celery. Must see attached pic, can not miss this once in a lifetime opportunity. I laughed, did not bother to ask for ranch at this point because I don't want the chef/waitress to spit in my dressing. Overall this was a entertaining experience. Pros: Delicious agua fresca drinks Soft toilet paper almost as nice as Charmin. This alone bumps my rating up. read more

This place has great food. They also have an app, which allows you to accumulate points and receive free items. I just went this week and I had an $8 balance for rewards :) I had the lettuce wraps ($7.25), which are made out of tofu and other tasty ingredients and they were filling. U can get about 3 wraps out of this if you don't overpack the lettuce cup. I got a lentil soup on the side ($3.75), which was quite delicious. My husband got the rustic farm bowl ($10.25) and added sausage for and additional charge ($2.50) and it was pretty amazing. They have a parking structure in the back for which you have to pay for. They also have street parking but you have to pay the meters, none of it is free unless it's after 6pm. Don't try to get away with not paying parking...some try and I have seen them ticket people numerous times. Don't risk it. Anyhow, a must try. I will continue to return. read more

Accessibility: 3/5 This is located at the Shops on South Lake Ave. During the weekends parking is very difficult. During the weekdays it is better except during lunch time. Ambiance: 3/5 Clean place, counter-service setting. Very casual. You order your food, get a number, you grab your table and they bring your food to you. I noticed a lot of the empty tables had not been cleaned so I had to move a few plates and dishes myself. Food: 4/5 Food was good. I got a salad, soup and nachos with grilled (faux) chicken. The salad was ok, the nachos and the soup were very good. I initially did not realize that "all" the items in the menu were vegan! Got really excited when I realized I could get vegan meatballs and chicken! Service: 3/5 It is a counter-service setting, so I don't expect the best service. Having said that, the person at the cashier could not answer my questions about items in the menu. Bang for the buck: 4/5 Vegan food for this price it's a yey! read more

I've been to VG Pasadena a few dozen times. The staff is always super friendly. But the food is hit or miss and it's not that cheap. Their fries are the only thing that is ALWAYS great. Everything else, maybe it's delicious or maybe your greens are frozen or theY use the wrong sauce or it's cold. If you tell someone, they jump all over it--refund your money and get you a new item or something else. But, after so many times, I've grown tired of it. The gold of a franchise is consistency, and the only thing consistent about VG (including the Hollywood and Thousand Oaks/Westlake Village stores) is the inconsistency of the food. I root for them and have thought of sending a letter to corp HQ. I want them to succeed because we need veganism, and I want them to be bigger than McDonalds, but they need to get it together or they are going to lose it. btw: The app is great. Use it. Parking is OK, usually spots in the back. It's clean and wait times are reasonable. THE GOOD: WAIT STAFF THE BAD: INCONSISTENCIES with food THE UGLY: WATCHING A VEGAN FRANCHISE BLOW IT WHILE GARBAGE LIKE CHIC FILET AND ARBY'S ARE KILLING IT. C'MON VG. YOU CAN DO THIS. (AND I'LL EDIT MY REVIEWS ACCORDINGLY :) ) THIS ISN'T A STAFF ISSUE. THIS IS A MENU ISSUE. read more

The Veggie Grill kitchen clearly doesn't pay enough attention to detail. This was my second time ordering online from this location and was totally letdown. The kids grilled cheese was really greasy and half was missing cheese. Good thing I opened the sandwich when I thought something was off otherwise we may not have realized it was just buttered bread. Felt like a lazy rip off. Also, the cookies were packed in with the sandwich and French fries, so they got hot, mushy and gross. Plus chocolate crumbs and creme filling ended up on the fries. Last time the cookies came packed separately and everything was made well. Pay more attention to packing up the take out orders or at least have some consistency if you want customers to come back. read more

I got the Paleo zucchini noodles with beyond sausage. It has 21g of protein. I'm finding it hard to believe it was only 360 calories as there was a lot of oil in it...Or maybe it was the pesto. I don't know.....It just had an oily texture it. There should have been a little more sausage I think. Somewhat tasty bowl. read more

Hubby wanted to give this a try since becoming vegetarian and vegan. I have not joined that bandwagon but I do try to eat as healthy as possible. He ordered the Beyond Burger with fries and said it was delicious. I sampled one of the fries and it was yummy. Not greasy at all. I ordered a seasonal item, the Rustic Farm Bowl, with farro, roasted yam, braised cannelloni beans, grilled mushrooms, roasted tomatoes, red pepper sauce, broccoli pesto and apple sage sausage. It was delicious and the broccoli pesto really tied all the ingredients together beautifully. That bowl kept me full all day. It was nice treating my body to a clean, healthy meal. The cashier was so friendly and told me about the veggie grill app. If you sign up you get 5 dollars off your first purchase. It was nice of her to tell me about it because I wouldn't have known otherwise. Downloading the app also gives you access to their rewards program, which if you dine here regularly, can lead to some sweet benefits over time. I liked how their bathroom had Mrs. Meyer's soap, nice touch! The great service and healthy food will keep me coming back for more. The only difficulty is parking, which on the weekend, can be quite scarce in the lot behind the restaurant. We found street parking near a residential area and took a short walk over. Pasadena has lovely neighborhoods so no biggie:) read more

Great food and great service. Fresh menu with great options. Great vibe with awesome seating area.

Came here with my gf for my birthday, and we ordered a bunch of stuff! The smorgasbord included, the quinoa burger with vegan cheese (surprisingly delicious because I'm not a vegan) and roasted veggies, the tempura fried green beans, the Mediterranean salad, and she got a sparkling soda or something. Vegetarians dream!! I had no idea that this place could be so good.. I felt great for eating healthy and even better when I started filling my belly. I ordered the Mediterranean super green salad. Staff was friendly, the place is clean and the food is good! The salad consisted of hummus (mmMMMm), tomato and cucumber salad, some falafel, a citrus-y vinaigrette and a flatbread. Herbivores, omnivores, and carnivores alike will love this place! I'm vegan, and ironically, my boyfriend (who was a total meat-lover at the time) is the one who introduced me to Veggie Grill. And it's now one of our favorite places to eat together! Veggie Grill is also great for catering. It was finally my turn to choose the catering place for our weekly meeting at work. I was so done with lame side salads, and I probably overcompensated by making everyone eat vegan food for once haha. But to my surprise, I completely fooled everyone, and they were shocked that vegan food could taste so good! The buffalo wings were a hit, and so was the wrap platter.  ------------------------------------ They have a great selection of delicious dishes. Some of my favorites are: - FAVORITE SANDWICH: The Santa Fe Crispy Chickin' ($10.75). I love the texture of the crispy tofu, and that spicy vegan mayo is to die for! Sometimes, I'm even guilty of asking for extra mayo just to drench my sandwich in it... Try it in a spinach wrap for all the flavor without all of the filling bread. - FAVORITE BOWL: The Masala Bowl ($10.50). It's packed with flavorful spices and lots of nutrients too! With chickpeas, cauliflower, supergrains, kale, and hemp seeds, it leaves me stuffed every time. And the best part is the gluten-free raita and garlic flatbread. - FAVORITE SALAD: The Banh Mi Salad ($10.50), but without jalapenos, because I can't handle spiciness to save my life. I seriously need to find out how they make that organic glazed tofu. The outer glaze is sweet and so perfectly crunchy. It can be a little too sweet with all the dressing though, so I would recommend getting it on the side and adding it to your liking. - FAVORITE DESSERT: none other than the classic chocolate chip cookie ($2.50). You know how some vegan cookies taste bland, dry, or just otherwise off? Yeah, not this one. This is seriously one of the best vegan cookies I've ever had! ------------------------------------ The only cons for me (minus 1 star): - If you're dining in, it can take a long time to get your food. The line can take up to 15 minutes, and then it can be 20-30 minutes more before you get your food. - Even though the food tastes great, it's not the best option if you're looking for something truly healthy. To imitate the taste of meat and dairy, the food here can be pretty processed and high in salt, sugar, and oil. ------------------------------------ Other pro tips:  - Order online, then specify the pick up time (which can be as little as 15 minutes). During peak times, this is great for skipping the long line, and they also have parking right behind the restaurant just for pick up! For lunch today, they were really busy, and I had to wait an extra 10 minutes for pick up order. That's really not that long, but the woman packaging orders was really apologetic that I had to wait, and even gave me a card to redeem a free entree. - Download their iOS/Android app to earn $9 for every $99 you spend. And you start with $5 of credit! read more

I was eating at the Pasadena location a couple of days ago and I witnessed one of the staff members climb up on top of the food service area to fix a light/bulb....while food was being prepared. The plates that were ready to be served to patrons were sitting on the counter and he moved them over so he could stand up there. When he was done, he moved the pates back. Seriously!? I was absolutely disgusted. You can't put peoples food and health at risk like that. I will not being eating here again, which is sad because I really liked it. read more

Why is everything at the Hollywood location so amazingly good, and everything at the Pasadena location so amazingly ... mediocre? Is it a franchise with different owners? Or do the managers at Pasadena just not care as much? I work across the street, and, as a longtime vegetarian, I really want to like this spot. The workers always seem a bit bored, the space itself is uninspired. But that's relatively unimportant- it's the food. Nothing looks/tastes very fresh. Everything is a bit on the bland side. "Hot" food arrives at the table lukewarm on the outside and cold on the inside. I've been to this location 4 times now and have ordered different items each time. With so many other options on Lake, not sure I'll return to this place. Sorry, Veggie Grill, I tried..! read more

Was craving salad so when my best friend asked me to go to lunch, we yelped, and decided to try this place out, having been on my bookmarks for the longest time, We drove out around 3:15p.m today, a monday, and there was no traffic, thankfully. We parked in the back but did not know that there was a back door so we walked in from the front. Once you walk in, the cashier is right in front of you and there are menus posted in the front of each register. There are also menus on your left hand side as you walk in. The cashier was very kind in greeting us and then allotting us some time to look through the menus. It was both our first times there so we took a bit to scan through and see what we wanted to try. I ended up with the "All Hail Kale" and she ordered the "Banh Mi Salad" with a side of the "Buffalo Wings". The cashier asked us if we had the VEGGIE GRILL REWARDS app, and that if we did sign up, the first time would give you a rewards of 5$ off, so we both jumped on our phones and downloaded the app. She was very patient and waited for us to finish before charging us our final orders. Everytime you use the app you accumulate points and once you spend 99$, you get 9$ back in rewards, so basically 10% rewards. My salad arrived much quicker than hers but thats because she had tofu in her meal. Overall, both salads were REALLY GOOD, and the presentation was pretty as well. It was actually my first time having a KALE only salad, and i'm VERY satisfied. I will definitely be back to Veggie Grill to try something different as everything on the menu sounded appetizing! read more

My bf had heard about Veggie Grill from Kevin Smith's mentions on his show (he credits eating there for helping him lose over 50 lbs), so we were eager to try it on a recent visit to Pasadena. We're both very much carnivores but we liked the food from Veggie Grill so much we ate at a Hollywood location too before heading home. Everything was very fresh (maybe this is how most produce tastes in comparison to NYC? not sure...) and I didn't miss meat in the meals at all. The menu offers a wide range of delicious options for a pretty reasonable price, and seems to be a much higher quality than most comparable chains. I'm excited they're scheduled to open a NYC location this fall--will definitely visit once it does! read more

Veggie grill is awesome. I love veggie grill because it is an amazing concept: a vegan fast casual restaurant that has its roots in burger joints but is so much more. However this veggie grill always runs out of items and this time they took the cake. I ordered a Luxeburger but they had no roasted tomatoes or mushrooms. I upgraded the fries and it came out to 17 dollars with taxes. Very simple, don't charge me 17 dollars for something that you can't make. And try to make it right instead of making it obvious you just wanted to stop talking to me as quickly as possible. I used to work fast food so I understand that it's not fun dealing with customer's complaints, but that's your job. A little bit of contrition would have gone a long way in this matter. Meaning next time at least fake an apology I don't want to leave a one star review because this is not a one star restaurant in terms of taste and presentation. But in terms of customer service and consistency this place gets a D. Fix that and you would be in line with the veggie grill brand. read more
