It's a tiny diner but the food is so tasty! Such a sweet hidden gem that is off the main road but worth the extra few minutes drive! my cousin and I had lunch there today. absolutely wonderful lobster rolls . stuffed with meat , perfectly grilled rolls, served with fries and slaw. I had a salad instead of fries and it was delicious. and what a value!!! 24.95 for all that. we love the place. staff is always patient with us because 2 hr lunch is norm for us.haha. read more

Newport Diner is everything you'd want in a small local eatery. I saw that they make their own sausage in house so I had to get some sausage and scrambled eggs with cheese. The sausage was delicious my meal came with two large patties. The coffee was excellent too - it'll "put some hair on your chest" as my grandmother used to say - meaning it's strong coffee - just how I like it. There were two ladies working the place and they were a well oiled team, friendly, and fast. They made me feel like a local. The day I went it seemed everyone knew everyone there. The menu is everything you'd expect a diner to have. Tons of breakfast options, burgers, sandwiches, and check the board for daily specials. The diner itself is clean and cozy, plenty of parking in the lot and down behind as well. There is ramp for wheelchair access and the dining area is broken up into three sections. Two out front and one out back. The food was excellent, portions were generous, I was admiring what others were having as well and no one left hungry! If you ever find yourself on a lazy Sunday morning hit the Newport Diner, it's def. worth it! read more

Nestled in the small town of Newport, Maine, this diner was a cross between classic diner and country. Not being from Maine, we chose this place because it was one of the few breakfast places open on Tuesday and solid reviews. Walking in, we were a little concerned since other patrons walking out told us 'good luck', which I thought was because of the number of vehicles in the parking lot and that it might be busy. But we easily found a table. What they meant was the speed of service, which honestly was not bad. It was a little slow at the beginning, but it was also busy. Overhearing a conversation at another table, it sounds like it is normally busy on Tuesday. We were not in a rush, so the pace was just right. Food prices were good, with coffee about $13-16 per person. Once things slowed down, the servers were pleasant and attentive. Overall, I was happy with the experience and would certainly return. read more

Went here with my husband last weekend. It was packed so we knew it would be good! My husband ordered one of their larger breakfast specials and proceeded to eat EVERY BITE. I've never seen him eat an entire breakfast that size! He said it was the best breakfast he's had in recent memory. I had the biscuits and gravy which were delicious and the perfect portion. My only critique is that my eggs were slightly over - but they were still delicious, so no worries there. I'm excited to try their homemade corned beef hash next time. Had breakfast this morning with my fiancée. We both had the daily special, Cajun sausage skillet, and we both agreed it was delicious. The homemade sausage was well seasoned and the food was cooked perfectly. The waiter was very attentive and kept my coffee fresh throughout the meal. Excellent, excellent, excellent. The food was fantastic. I had the lumberjack breakfast and my husband had the Ruben sandwich. The place is clean and bright with superb service. My husband said the Ruben was the best he has ever had! Must be the slow cooker method of cooking! The food came out hot and appetizing to the eyes in a very timely manner ! 2 things happened which just demonstrates these folks understand good customer service: 1st- the cook came to the table near us carrying a plate of food and said I believe your plate was sitting to long and may not be hot so I prepared you a fresh plate! #2- this gentleman next to us thought he had ordered the pulled pork hamburger but just ordered the sandwich they took it back at no charge and gave him what he thought he ordered, now who does that this day and age? I very much enjoyed our meal and the the service and we will be back for sure: my only wish is that they would be open for dinner a few nights they are only open 6-2pm but I love you can get breakfast all day! read more

Truly don't understand the 5 star reviews. We possibly went on a bad day. The reviews say excellent service... NOT. We waited more than 15 minutes for a MENU! When that finally happened, and meal choices were made, another 10 minutes for the waitress to even come in our area. Had to ask if we could order. Another couple came in close to 10 min after we ordered, they sat directly across from us. THEY WERE SERVED BEFORE OTHERS THAT HAD BEEN WAITING (another couple and us.) All through this waiting, the waitresses kept saying "sorry for the wait, the kitchen is trying to catch up from breakfast.... but it was still breakfast time. Had to ask for another cup of coffee... the waitress didn't stop by the table to see if we needed anything. POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE! Used the facilities before we left. The dust on the wood trim was disgusting, the toilet seat slid from side to side. Very unsafe, esp for the disabled. The food was average. We usually go to Irvings, however wanted to try this for a change. WE WONT BE BACK. read more
