Great place to grab a sandwich or slice of pizza, and some beer on your way home.

Good food at a very reasonable price. I love the place. Conveniently located at a few locations in the Bangor area.

Island Take Out is an unassuming place tucked behind a gas station in Bar Harbor. As the name implies, it's geared mostly for food to-go, but they do have some covered picnic tables. We sat there, and they even brought the food out to us with utensils. The hospitality here was so friendly. The staff was very nice, the service was fairly quick, and the food came out fast. They have a decent sized menu, and I was surprised to see offerings like rum cake. We ended up ordering the lobster mac and cheese and the jerk chicken. I was very happy with the portion size, they definitely did not skimp on the amount of lobster they put on the mac and cheese, and the jerk chicken was also plenty of food. While it's certainly not cheap, I'd say the cost is competitive for what I'd say is a pricier town. The food was tasty (it had a lot of taste), but I will say that it did not taste like authentic Caribbean food to me. It was more like American BBQ style. That being said, I'd recommend giving this hidden gem a consideration if you're in the area.

I got the jerk mac'n'cheese. The flavor was great with a tad bit of spice. The garlic bread was yummy dipped into the sauce and it was a good size helping. Definitely a place to check out! The staff was kind and prompt
