Grilled cheese + french fries

Came up from MA for a concert and stayed at an airbnb down the street. Moo-Moo's came recommended from the host of the home. So after a long travel day we decided to give it a try! I cannot say enough great things about this pub and especially the owners, John and Corinne. We were welcomed with open arms into their restaurant, they went above and beyond in every single way to make the experience great for us. From answering all of our questions, frequently checking in on us to even playing our favorite song. Not to mention, they lended us butter for our airbnb... We got a couple of grilled cheeses (which are made on homemade bread) and a steak n cheese sub which were delicious! Not only did we get dinner here, but came back the next morning for breakfast. If you are in the area, this is the place to go. We are already planning a time to come back to visit!

Wow I can't believe that this place has $2.50 Busch light bottles every day. I well be back soon.

We have tried a couple other local restaurants since we moved here seven weeks ago and they absolutely pale in comparison to the quality of food at Moo-Moo's.

We were standing near the bar, and one of the bartenders invited us to sit and moved chairs around for us. Service was excellent and very friendly. We had the roasted tomato burrata sandwich and flatbread. Each were great. This is such a cool place, there is a vinyl store within the restaurant, but it was closed when we there. There also was an area they sell guitars, all so random, but fit so well together. A very cool, comfy place to enjoy drinks, food and music.

The historic building has a tin roof and a wooden bar that eeks history. Our waitress was so welcoming and made us feel right at home. I enjoyed the roasted tomato burrata baguette sandwich and it was toasted and tasty. Several of my dining partners also had the same sandwich. Another had the Warm Roasted Root Vegetable Salad that she said was wonderful. We finished the meal with generous portions of carrot cake topped with delicious cream cheese frosting. There is a store inside the Black Moon (that happened to be closed on a Saturday night). In the corner they sell vinyl records and CDs and there is also a selection of guitars. There was also a musician playing live music near the front of the pub that really added to the atmosphere. It was a truly great find right on Main Street in Ellsworth.

Our first night, the environment and ambiance was amazing and we loved the live music. It was not overpowering and added a nice touch. Highly recommend the pizza and cheese sticks - some of the best we've had. And finally, have to touch on the drinks and service. We did not have a drink we disliked and the service was phenomenal. Everyone was kind and thoughtful, not to mention conversational. Can't recommend highly enough.

We walked over from the main strip of downtown and loved the vibe as soon as we arrived. Walking down the stairs to get to the brewery versus the glass blowing shop was so cute. With apples on the ground from the apple trees, it couldn't be more "Maine". When walking in, you order at the bar for both food and drink and then there is a booth/trailer out back where the food comes out. The inside is set up for open mic night and then outside they have a full stage where they host live music. There is plenty of seating outside at the picnic tables as well. We ordered a couple beers, the Margherita pizza, the potato chips, and the Carrot Top salad. I cannot tell you howwwwwwwww amazing the salad was!! I have never had a salad like this and I ate every last bite. The roasted carrots were so good, combined with the crispy onions and the dressing; it was heaven. The chips were incredible and the dip that comes with it just elevates it that much more. I believe it was a pickle dip of some sort? I can't remember specifically, just that I needed a vat of it. Then the pizza?! We couldn't finish it but man did we want to! Add all this tasty food to a beautiful backdrop and we were the happiest little foodies in Maine. Hands down best stop in Ellsworth!

Last night was our anniversary celebration. Could not have been more enjoyable. Service was excellent. Our server was a young woman who was in her first week of unsupervised service. Did not miss a beat. She had a remarkable grasp of the details of the menu, describing the seared Ahi tuna dish to a "T". During our meal the Manager checked in with us to ask if they were meeting our expectations. Nice touch. Excellent bar cocktails. Wine by the bottle as well as the glass and "jug". The bottle list is varied and pretty extensive. We had a Rombauer Chardonnay which paired perfectly with the slightly spiced menu items we ordered. Portions are substantial. Take home boxes available. Last note, the pacing of the service was totally focused on our pace. We were never rushed and between each course had a moment to relax and talk. Very, very nice.

Burger with blueberry and goat cheese was great. Only things is- I firmly believe bacon should be crispy. This bacon was not. That's the only thing I would change. Onion and squash soups were great. And the kitchen staff were so courteous in doing that. I know that can be a pain in the butt. Everything still had great presentation and care coming out like that too! Amazing! This place is the BOMB!…read more I've lived in Southern Maine for over 30 years, and while I have heard ALL about Dysarts, I haven't made the trek before now. It took a concert at the Maine Savings Amphitheater to get me to head north, and I am SO glad I did! We got a booth pretty quickly, and even though we were both recommended (several) times to go with the breakfast menu, we ended up ordering one hot open-face turkey sandwich and a pot roast dinner. The turkey sandwich was fantastic, plentiful, and smothered in gravy. I also requested extra cranberry sauce (always), which was perfect. The pot roast dinner started with the most excellent dinner rolls, fresh and warm, then moved to a giant portion of pot roast with gravy, real mashed potatoes, and a side of peas (also perfect). We would have stayed longer and ordered more, but it was time to go, and we were stuffed. Next time.

I love their pancakes and their hash. Before we leave, we always get a few things to-go. The most recent trip we were lucky enough to snag their famous dinner rolls. So good for the holidays...or in our case...Sunday LOL We are a fan of their cookies as well. The pumpkin chip ones are our favorites. If you don't see something, you can ask, as they might have more in the back. Always a great time when we are up North a few times a year.
