This place is the BOMB!…read more I've lived in Southern Maine for over 30 years, and while I have heard ALL about Dysarts, I haven't made the trek before now. It took a concert at the Maine Savings Amphitheater to get me to head north, and I am SO glad I did! We got a booth pretty quickly, and even though we were both recommended (several) times to go with the breakfast menu, we ended up ordering one hot open-face turkey sandwich and a pot roast dinner. The turkey sandwich was fantastic, plentiful, and smothered in gravy. I also requested extra cranberry sauce (always), which was perfect. The pot roast dinner started with the most excellent dinner rolls, fresh and warm, then moved to a giant portion of pot roast with gravy, real mashed potatoes, and a side of peas (also perfect). We would have stayed longer and ordered more, but it was time to go, and we were stuffed. Next time.

I love their pancakes and their hash. Before we leave, we always get a few things to-go. The most recent trip we were lucky enough to snag their famous dinner rolls. So good for the holidays...or in our case...Sunday LOL We are a fan of their cookies as well. The pumpkin chip ones are our favorites. If you don't see something, you can ask, as they might have more in the back. Always a great time when we are up North a few times a year.

The employee was…read moreputting away vegetables behind the counter, never acknowledged that there was a customer standing there. I am a patient person and don't mind waiting, but a mere acknowledgment of being there would have been nice. Once she finishes whatever she was doing, she went out back - again saying nothing to me - and finally came out again and asked what I wanted. Now, I don't mess with people who make my food, so I ordered and had a very simple request for the sandwich (which I have NEVER had a problem with at this or any other Subway). She ignored it. She continued making the sandwich, I reminded her of the request. She said she heard me the first time, and continued making the sandwich while still ignoring the request. So I said nothing else, she made it how she wanted it, and I paid. Because again, I don't mess with people handling my food. But after the transaction before I left, I explained to her how she did not make it how I wanted it, because she should know that it's not ok. This is where she could have fixed the situation and offered a solution, but she did not. She was rude, combative, called me names in a sarcastic tone such as "honey" and "babe" while telling me that I ordered it wrong. I have never had any other "sandwich artist" misunderstand my request, which is not a crazy way to order by the way. I walked out as she continued yelling after me, loud enough so I could hear her even after the door was closed to the store. I don't expect a red carpet, but I do expect common courtesy and to not be spoken to like I'm an idiot. She doesn't care that this location lost my business today, as she clearly didn't want to wait on ANY customers today. And the manager may or may not care, but I promise the owner does care. And they will be forwarded this review. How embarrassing for that employee and the store.
