Customer Service needs improvement as well as professionalism…read more The rental fees are outrageous and there are increases every 6 months. Specifically was told by the current manager that everywhere will increase their rates every 6 months but MANY local locations within the same city limits lock you in for a year. Luckily I was able to get MORE space to store my things at half the price than I was paying at MVMS. When I called and spoke to the manager about this increase in the beginning of May, she was very snarky with me and said, "well they will get you in at a good rate and maybe you get locked in for a year, but what happens after the year?" I can see where she would think this because that is how the new "company policy" works at Storage Pro. However, this is not common practice jut because Storage Pro chooses to do business this way. This also wasn't how the location was run before Storage Pro took over. I am POSITIVE that this is why so many units are empty. I have gone every weekend and some days during the week to work on moving out of my units and every time I am there, there's another customer with a uhaul emptying out their unit. I have had the opportunity to speak to a few of them and each person said they were getting out and moving to a new facility due to the increases. In addition to other customers, I had to rent Uhauls from 2 different locations in Turlock. BOTH locations told me when I picked up the trucks that I was NoT the first person to tell them they had to move locations due to the increases in rent at their current location. The management, nor office staff treat their customers the same way as we were treated from the previous management before "Big Business" took it over. I understand that changes will occur and that's expected, but these changes were so over the top. I am happy that I was able to secure spots in a much more friendly and workable environment from 2 different locations in Turlock and will no longer need to rent at Monta Vista Mini Storage. Unfortunately, these were not our only issues with this location. The District Manager also does not return phone calls. I had one message to them through the call center 4 weeks ago when the new issues began. I was told that they would return my call within 48 hours and they did not. 2 days later I had to go into the office to resolve an issue resulting from a mistake the manager made, and asked the manager to please send a message for the DM to call me and he did not again within 48 hours. I again mentioned it to the manager 3 days ago and still have not gotten a call from him. Today I called and was assured that he would call me within ONE HOUR and he has not returned my call. It is very apparent that no one in the management team cares about resolving my concerns. I guess it's time for me to go above the DM, or maybe the BBB? Do better Monta Vista. Your future customers are deserving, just as much as those of us who left. If I could give this review ZERO stars I would.

I love my Family :) So 2018 to present = 6 years this August of 2024. This is how long I've been renting here. They have it wired for sound with the voltage listed on the electrified metal fencing that surrounds this storefront... I appreciate this and feel it's a great preventative for the unsavory... Several months back, I drove here from Turlock, California, to prepare to move my stuff just 2 spaces over from mine for additional space. What I encountered was a HUGE RAT INFESTATION! (I was told it was a rat not mice etc) The excrement and urine etc. was everywhere & it appeared that the offenders had broken through (ripped & torn) some insulation in the indoor roof (unfinished) area and I was told that they had had an infestation and I asked who would be cleaning up my storage space removing the feces and urine and knawed damage to my bedding. The damage was severe in my California King memory foam mattress & box spring. It was rendered unsafe for public use & consumption. I was informed that there is an exclusion for this type of situation. She continued, that I was 100% responsible for the clean up and that they wouldn't be helping me as that too was an exclusion to my rental agreement. I wasn't aware of this at all. She kept regurgitating the same message over and over & I began to want to flee back to the dirty space just to get away from the redundancy... It worked... Each year they raise their rates and are prompt with their unprofessional method to inform paying consumers such as myself. Now we're up to $150 a month and in a few months the end of the year will be up and they will raise the rent again for an unsupervised rent hike. When I asked about the annual increases, I was snootily informed that they would continue to raise the rent @ the end of each calendar year. If you are looking for customer service excellence; look further as the women in the office are obnoxious, arrogant, and beyond ignorant in their speech and attire. They don't wear ID badges either so you have to ask them what their name is and under situations like this, it could very well be that they are occluding their identity. Poor form. Their body language screams: DON'T BOTHER ME!, WHAT DO YOU WANT??!!!, YES, YOU CAN USE THE BATHROOM!!! (located as you walk into the office door and always clean and with the fragrance used, tolerable. I can't wait to officially leave this place but for now, my valuables are here which reminds me that I failed to pick up some "NEW" rat poison since they don't supply this either. I'd look elsewhere if you're seeking to be treated kindly, courteously, and with some tact & demeanor. For me, the verdict is out on how I feel about rodents/rats. I'd prefer to not need to poison a creature who seems similar & to cats with their long tails, snout 4 legs & whiskers. I resent and am officially not going to use any more rat poison as one, rats may be clean pets (Per Dr.Pol on the tele) and two, I aim to save lifes not take them. Shame on you Westside Storage; you're not the only unit out there. There are some competitors who will treat me and my antique belongings seriously & in-turn, pamper us. Lastly, they have more than one location, so buyer-beware... They "incite" you, provoking a negative response. She was yelling at us to stop like we were criminals when all we wanted to do was not block others from parking. We showed up at 5:10. She was very rude in telling us that she closes the gate at 5:55 because they close at 6. She then proceeded to waste my time talking about how I need to give them a week notice if I move out or give them information to transfer the storage to someone else. She really didn't want to stay past 6, then did everything she could to keep us from getting our stuff done in time. Very poor way to approach customers. Almost everyone in service gets this simple concept; not sure why she doesn't.
