Service and food quality was excellent. Alecia took great care of me! CFS was very tender and breading was light and crispy. Cream gravy was rich and delicious. The rolls are to die for. So much food for your money, too. Best CFS I've had in Texas!

The softest best rolls I've ever had.

The restaurant has a quaint old country vibe filled mostly with families, couples, & working groups. The service was great. They young waitresses were very polite with a kind & friendly attitude. The complimentary rolls were some of the best we've ever had. We had to ask for more. They were so soft & warm, true perfection. The fried jalapeños were perfectly breaded & the fried cheese curds were some of the best I've had, not rubbery. For entrees we had the Texas sizzler, the chopped sirloin, & fried chicken steak. The sides included the loaded baked potato, sweet potato fries, onion rings, & chili. All the food was delicious & we got a peanut brittle from the cashier counter to go.

5 stars all the way around! From service to food everything was fantastic! I had the New York steak It was perfect and so tender. My daughter had the sirloin just as good . Their fried pickles are great! This place is pretty big fits a lot of people , and it's clean . staff is super friendly will definitely be back!

What a view & wonderful food & service. We were driving back to Dfw and have always wanted to stop and try New York Hill restaurant. I'm glad we did as this was a delicious home cooking restaurant with a great view. I had the chicken fried steak, green beans and mashed potatoes. All very classic cooking and delicious. The cheese curds were really good as well and the ranch. I saw lots of people order the baked potato so that must be a must try.

We stopped here for lunch on our road trip and enjoyed the scenery of this beautiful country side restaurant. They had hummingbird feeders so we got to see some hummingbirds. This is a nice setup for a pit stop. I will say I was surprised by all the people that are local and visiting after lunch that it stays busy here so we knew it was going to be a good place. I did get a salad, chicken fried steak with gravy and peaches. It was good. I could tell the steak fries and chicken fried steak were homemade so that's a bonus. We enjoyed our time here.

Finally came to eat at the New York Hill after moving to the area.. the green salsa was very good!! The perfect amount of heat and good flavor.. my entree was the texas sizzler.. basically a hamburger steak stuffed with onions and jalepenos.. they use pickled jalepenos which in my opinion doesn't give this dish any justice.. skip the texas sizzler and go for the steak or chicken fried steak. The staff was great and very friendly.

We planned a stop for lunch on a road trip to Las Colinas for a company Christmas Party. We have stopped here for years, this time we had a small chicken fried steak and a hamburger steak both with mashed potatoes and green beans. Our drinks arrived quickly as did our side salads. The cafe has a nice view of the Smoke stack across the highway and a very nice interior, it's definitely homey. The wait staff have always been nice and friendly. Too. A favorite memory was when the kids were young and we stopped for dinner. It had been snowing that day so there was a nice blanket of snow on the ground. After dinner we had to let the dogs out of the minivan for a walk so the kids enjoyed walking them in the snow down the hill. The dogs did their business and walked around in the snow a bit before dragging the kids back to the warm minivan! I'm thinking that was the last time we were able to travel with the pooches, now they have a pet sitter.

We stopped here on our way home to CA. We were surprised as how delicious food was. The catfish has been the best I have had in forever. Nice and clean taste and the cornmeal batter was perfect! The chicken nachos were great too. Totally different than others and we ate it all. Highly recommend to stop in.

Absolutely fabulous little place!! Super neat history too! Plenty of parking for big rvs or trucks on parking lot. All of the waitress were very attentive..and the rolls! Oh my the soft warm yummy rolls that they have honey on the table for were to die for!!! I had the homemade chicken tenders with huge steak fries, side salad and pinto beans!! Hubby had steak fingers that were equally delicious ! Tea is also fresh brewed and had wonderful flavor, not bitter at all! We will definitely be back!

We've had this on our "list" for a long time. Even passed it leaving Fort Worth for our weekend getaway. I was hoping they were open Sundays and got excited when we pulled into the parking lot. I can say the earlier is the better. We got there at 5 and by 6 and it started getting busier. Our waitress and the rear of the staff was so friendly. Almost like they knew us for years. Quite the opposite of the "other" chicken fried steak place across the highway. Don't forget to enjoy their homemade rolls with the butter. They also leave a bottle of honey on the table to drizzle over that roll. Yummmm I chose the chicken livers, mashed potatoes and green beans. Our waitress even said if I didn't like them she'd bring me something else. That's amazing customer service but wasn't needed. They tasted scrumptious! The masked potatoes were good as well as the green beans. My wife decided on the chicken trips. Wow! Juicy and incredible crunch on the outside. I stole a piece of one but couldn't manage to get anymore chicken from her. If you are close this is the place to come AND not expensive either. Thurber has a lot of history so go find the plaque at the end he of the hill too.

DELICIOUS! I actually heard about this place from a Reddit post about places to stop on a road trip…read moreacross Texas and I'm so glad I listened! It's home cooked food, calories-not-monitored, but worth every single bite. It doesn't look like much from the outside, but I knew it was going to be good when we saw the parking lot was overflowing into the grass. Luckily there was still an open table inside and we were welcomed by the sweetest staff and our waitress was just as wonderful. So many things looked good on the menu, but I couldn't resist ending this road trip with another taste of chicken fried steak to compare to Mary's (and they can definitely compete because it was AWESOME)! We also tried the chicken fried chicken (delicious), sweet potato casserole (amazing), Mae's potato casserole (tasty), cheese sticks (good), and the hamburger and fries which was obviously delicious enough that my picky daughter almost finished it - which says a LOT! We were very glad that we'd ordered the "smaller portions" for lunch because it meant we could grab a few of the desserts to go to snack on for our final leg of the road trip and keep enjoying at home. We tried the toffee cake (incredible), peanut butter cake (sinfully good), and the coconut pie (very light and creamy)! We also snagged some items to take home with us from their coolers and I can 100% recommend their pork tamales and summer sausage. If you get the chance to stop here, you won't regret it at all! Delicious, great service, and good portions!

I love the maverick burger but one of my favorite things is the grilled chicken salad !!! Delicious…read more! They make the chicken soooo good. Always friendly here and never had a bad meal ! Love them

One of the coolest atmospheres I've been to! Great bar menu. Price matches the quality of the food,…read moreportions were excellent. Staff was very kind. I recommend getting a reservation beforehand due to the small size. Steak was cooked to perfection and came with Chimchurri sauce on top.

If you're around Granbury and you're looking for a place so full of its own false self-virtue that…read moreit can't see the light of day, because they couldn't afford space in Dallas or Fort Worth, then Christina's is this for you! The experience starts with the hostesses who seem to think they are working in a Michelin starred establishment. Then the disappointment moves into the dining experience. Poorly cut steaks, and items you'd find in a Cotton Patch cafe. All at a price point that screams "we are in a hotel in Granbury who thinks it is the Beverly Hilton, just minus the money, service, and accoutrements." The difference being that the restaurants in Beverly Hills actually live up to the expectations, and even they aren't so full of themselves. The experience does not even come close to living up to its price and value proposition. Save yourself the time and drive into Fort Worth or Dallas to dine at a nicer establishment that's worth the money and more in-line with the advertised expectation. Christina's: "A little restaurant trying so hard to be something it's not capable of being."
