We stopped here today on our way back home from a long road trip. We both had the lunch special which was enchilada, taco, flouta with rice and beans. They brought us queso, salsa and chips. The service was great, especially with just one person in the dining room. The food was excellent being hot and fresh. The only small thing was the flouta was really light on the beef. Lots of tortilla but not much meat. We will be going back there for sure! read more

Four of us had dinner at Chente Cafe tonight. Two of us had Mexican and two had catfish. Dinner started with chips, salsa and queso which was outstanding. We all agreed that our food was good and we would make a return visit. We also tried pie for dessert and it was as good as ever at the Brazos River Catfish Restaurant. Definitely worth a try if you want to try a new place. read more

This place has gone down hill!! The restaurant is filthy and the staff are very rude. They act annoyed that you're there. They also assume that just because you are white you do not understand spanish and talk bad about you!! The chips were stale, the taco meat was old and extremely salty, the flauta tasted like it had been fried in very old dirty oil, the cheese enchilada was awful, they barely gave us any rice and the beans looked like they had been microwaved for a year. Do NOT waste your time or money. Prices are high, quality is very low!! read more

The food was very delicious! My husband has the beef and chicken enchiladas and he loved the way they were prepared! I had the catfish (3 choices lemon pepper,Cajun,regular) I love to explore new food so I got the all 3 of course! And the catfish was so flavorful and juice aside with the loaded potato!! Cute place but they were out of many items when we arrived at 6:30 on a Saturday night. The catfish dinner is supposed to come with a baked potato or sweet potato or fries and coleslaw. No sweet potato or coleslaw. The baked potato was smaller than a tennis ball, I got 3 catfish strips that were less than an inch wide and were overcooked and mostly breading. There were 3 flavors of catfish but I couldn't tell the difference other than one was a lot more salty. And for 16.99! The other entree was a chimichanga that was supposed to be filled with shredded beef but was salty taco meat. Chile topping was good. No charro beans or fried green tomatoes and limited pie flavors. Went last night for a family dinner with about 15 of us. Staff was extremely rude. Half the table never got chips and salsa. And the food took close to an hour to come out. There were only two other small tables there so place was not busy. When food came out the chicken enchiladas gave off a spoiled milk scent. And in fact they were extremely spoiled. Told the staff about this issue and she just grabbed up the plate with no apology. Ordered a different food for my son so he could actually eat and it took another 30 to come out. Not to mention everyone else at the table had other complaints or didn't get their half their orders either. Staff was awful, food was awful, and place was filthy. Don't waste your time!!! read more

Been a Campo Verde fan since the old Fort Worth location on Hwy 80 in the 90's.. When that closed we'd drive to the Arlington location. Heartbroken to hear ownership changed the food. Then found out about Chente Cafe. The food is straight outta Campo Verde. Everything was delicious! The chips, salsa and queso is exactly the same. They swapped Christmas decor for Elvis. Added bonus was the homemade pies by Sandra. The key lime was yummy. The 36 minute drive from Fort Worth was well worth it. Will visit again. read more

We finally tried Chente Cafe and were quite please. The chips were seasoned and the hot sauce was flavorful even if not spicy. I ordered the combo which came with two enchiladas, a tamale, a taco, a Flauta, small salad, and beans and rice. It was a substantial meal. I brought half home. My husband got the fajitas and two could have split easily. I did have a couple of bites and they were good. Everything was very good, well seasoned the way we like. We love TexMex and this definitely hit the spot on a cold day. The place was clean and staff friendly. We will be back. read more

I've heard the Mexican food is good, but the catfish will really surprise you, and not in a good way, the host kept telling me that she doesn't like fish, after eating their catfish, I can see why, I had to eat 1/2 a bottle of Roland's when I got home, I would be cautious and ask for a sample before odering. read more

Didn't have a menu posted online, so I could order ahead of time since I was getting it to go. Walked in, and the hostess was on, I believe, a personal call. I looked at the menu to decide what I wanted, and when I was ready, the hostess disappeared. Finallyshe came back, and I ordered the 3 enchilada meal with a chocolate pie even though it had meringue on it (don't care for the meringue). Brought the pie out first and then the food. I thought it was expensive until I got home. Not only did I get what I ordered, but I also got chips, hot sauce, and queso. It was good and was a two meal, the pie and service needed a little more work on it. But overall, it was good the guys that brought my food out were nice. read more

Arrived at 7:30pm and ordered. Door was locked at 7:40 and lights were being turned off. We felt like we were an inconvenience and when I asked what time they closed they told me they were slow so we're going home. Your Facebook page (that you manage) says you're open until 8:30pm. If we come back we'll try to come at a time that's convenient for you. (Should we call and ask if it's ok to come?) If you want to close at 7:45 then tell your customers that!! Food was below average ,waitress almost comatose.My catfish was pre breaded like food service frozen type.Wife had street tacos that were cold and chewey.I felt like we were keeping the waitress from falling asleep.Young man from kitchen was very friendly.Not worth the hype or the drive. read more

Worst experience in a restaurant I've ever had. Nobody was in the front to greet us or instruct us that we needed to seat ourselves. Other diners had to tell us what to do. It was just under ten minutes before anyone came out of the kitchen to acknowledge us. They finally came to us after several more minutes to take our drink order, which they were out of both & gave us the option of only lemonade, Coke & Dr Pepper. They brought us the smallest serving of greasy, overcooked chips & salsa. After many more minutes they came to take our order. I ordered a #2 enchilada plate which has a cheese, chicken & beef enchilada. Without even asking me, she asked a coworker how many cheese enchiladas she had left & she responded 3. She never even asked me if it was ok to sub 3 cheese. When we asked her about it, she said she was out of chicken & beef. My husband told her we'd pay for the Coke & Dr Pepper & leave. When we got to the register she stated the total would be $10!! He said, "For two cans of coke?" She replied sthat she was charging us for those nasty chips we didn't even ask for! The staff had horrible attitudes, the restaurant was dirty. Do not come, save yourself the negative experience. read more
