Our usual order is pretty consistent: roast pork fried rice, General Tso's, egg rolls, white rice, chicken lo mein, and crab rangoon. We know exactly what it's supposed to taste like, which is why the last few orders have stood out. There's been a noticeable decline. The lo mein noodles seem smaller than they used to be. The fried rice came out sloppily cooked -- it honestly still tasted like plain white rice, with none of the wok flavor that used to make it worth ordering. And the General Tso's didn't taste fresh the way it always had; it came across as sitting rather than made to order. I'm writing this as a longtime customer, not a one-off complaint. We've spent a lot of money here over the better part of a decade because the food earned it. I'm hoping this is a temporary dip -- a kitchen change, a busy stretch, something fixable -- and that the quality comes back to what it was. We'd love to keep ordering.

We got a smattering of dishes, wontons and dumplings, a sandwich and a ramen. Food came out in a reasonable wait time. We took pics and dug in. The 7 flavor dumpling was the star of the show. Light and thin dumpling wrapper, savory sweet sauce, plenty of filling. The pork dumplings were good, but the wrapper was thicker and denser. The twice cooked pork sandwich was pretty tasty, the pork needed to be more present compared to the veggies, but appreciated the crisp of the bread. The ramen had a good amount of braised beef and noodles. The broth needed a little doctoring to coax out some of the more savory notes. Broth needed more aggressive seasoning though. The price was not too bad for the area. It's kind of like dim sum, where you get a small plate for the price but it's all shareable and the flavors are good. It's not very well lit, gave the place a very dark air about it. But as a restaurant, it's pretty good. There's a lot of great places in that area, and this one's a good option if you're looking for small plates.

I enjoy mala but this definitely felt much less balanced than what we had here previously. Almost every single we've ordered is certifiably crave-able (my mouth is watering thinking about it right now!) and loved my entire family. My favorites: the green beans (!!!), cucumber with minced garlic, any of the dumplings, shredded pork with 5 spices tofu (an acquired taste!) and any of their beef entrees. We've had amazing fried rice too but then forgot what we ordered and the chicken fried rice wasn't as good... still delicious though!
