I work practically next door. Lately, after my shift, I walk here to pick up something for dinner. I have enjoyed several different entrees, and a couple not really which I will not reorder. The best part of this place's experience is the smiling, friendly, clever employee at the front counter! Yowza - he is the epitome of cheerfulness and take charge-ness! Last evening, one of the items I did order was not my fav. I now know not to get that again. The shrimp in lobster sauce however was totally phenomenal. I ate all of it really quickly. Fam member has eaten here and had a decent experience. Get the food home, and it's a disappointment, to say the least... Vegetable Lo-mein? No vegetables! A few tiny pieces of broccoli, a couple pea pods, difficult to find anything green in there... Sesame chicken? NO broccoli, where previous orders included it. I tried New Mr China tonight for the first time and can understand why it's rated so high! My only regret is not trying them sooner. This is the best, fast Chinese food around. I picked up and was pleasantly surprised by the bright, cleanly atmosphere and the friendliness of the staff. We ordered chicken with broccoli, vegetable fried rice, General Tso's (Made with white meat) and crab rangoons to give everything a try. The food was hot and fresh and the rice was not over sauced. Crab Rangoon . . . . I sometimes ask friends what they order when they're judging a certain type of restaurant for the first time. When I first visit a Chinese restaurant, I often use Crab Rangoon as a bench mark. It's kind of arbitrary, but it's good at some places and not so good at others, and it's rare that I like a place with not so good Rangoon. I also usually order some type of pork and vegetable dish, fried rice and an egg roll. Nothing sophisticated on my first visit. Just some basics. I tried to call my usual lunch takeout place and it turns out they are on vacation. I decided to try New Mr. China for the first time. The roast pork and string bean lunch special was mostly good. The beans had good color and a snap that yielded to soft pressure. The roast pork came in the form of lean strips. The sauce reminded of the glaze that you get on boneless spare ribs, but I could have used a bit more of it. The combo came with pork fried rice and an egg roll. The rice was not my favorite. It had larger chunks of onion than I'm used to, and they could have benefited from some additional stir-frying. It also lacked the flavor of my favorite fried rices. The egg roll was very good. The exterior had great color and crispy texture and the filling (most notably shredded cabbage and pork) was savory. What's that? You're wondering about the Crab Rangoon? It was delicious. It came in a nice crispy golden triangle pocket and was filled with some sort of sweet creamy crab-ish concoction. Truth be told, I have no idea what is even in Crab Rangoon. If I was asked to recreate it without looking at a recipe, I'd probably process imitation crab, mascarpone cheese and maybe a little pineapple juice and fruit to sweeten it. But who knows? read more

We have several closer Chinese take out spots near us that are decent, but we will often take the extra 10 minutes to go to New Mr China. The people are pleasant. Food is always fresh! I can only speak to the food, as we had it delivered but... We hadn't had Chinese food in a while due to having bad luck finding a decent Chinese restaruant. Today we decided we wanted to try again, so I spent about an hour reading the reviews here on yelp (we're new to the area) and after reading about this place and all the positive reviews decided to give it a try. At first I was a little put off that they wouldn't take a debit card over the phone for delivery (only because I had to go to the atm), but i understood. We ordered the boneless spare ribs shrimp fried rice, and jumbo shrimp with scallops with an egg roll and shrimp roll. Everything was amazing, it was everything we were hoping for. We'd had such bad experience in quality in the past that finally getting good/great food made me feel like i too should share because it was yelp that helped me chose this place. So I'm not from the area. I'm from NYC! So wanted to see a good spot around CT area. For first time trying their lunch special pork fried rice with jumbo shrimp with lobster sauce and an egg roll. I order it thru phone at 1:03 and they delivered it 1:26! Amazing service here! With lunch deliveries! I loved everything about the food but their lobster sauce. I'm a seafood lover especially lobster!!! I love the pork fried rice it was delicious and the shrimps are JUMBO..... I didn't want to be bias and give you guys 2/3 stars lol because I love lobster a lot ! I wasn't too happy with the lobster sauce there wasn't actual pieces of lobster it was more of the counterfeit crabmeat ( which I do not like!) I love the actual real crab meat if it's not the actual lobster. My favorite Chinese food in my area at least shed's the lobster meat into their sauce. So I was a little disappointed but other than that ! The egg roll was okay too. That's why I gave 4 stars ! Everything else is great. Next time I'll just order something else that's not lobster . This place has gotta be the best Chinese in Wethersfield, haven't been here in forever, ordered tonight, and bam they were on point. I only live about 5 mins away, and the food was on fire hot and fresh delivered to my door. Egg rolls, boneless spare ribs, orange chicken cooked perfect (fresh broccoli included). Pretty good Chinese food. Not greasy, decent flavor. Pork fried rice good but onion chunks are bigger than I'm used to. Boneless spareribs are good with the perfect amount of char. Cold sesame noodles are heavier on sesame and lighter on peanut butter flavor than other places, but still good. I'd put them way better than Great Wall, and a tick above Wang's. read more

Overall I was very impressed with my 1st experience with this restaurant. I placed my order online at 5:22 and it was delivered at 5:55. I ordered multiple vegetarian dishes with various modification requests. I also included special instructions for condiments and utensils and all were followed exactly. The delivery man was very nice and friendly. There was no delivery charge but I left a 20% tip which was pre-calculated for me online. The vegetables were abundant, fresh and cooked to the perfect tenderness (neither over or under) which historically has been a challenge with Chinese food. The portion size was plentiful and generous to substantiate the slightly higher cost of vegetarian dishes. The crispy noodles received were perfectly crisp and not oily. The fried donuts which were complimentary via coupon were also very good. Light, airy, warm and not oily. The sauces that accompanied the meals were okay, nothing special but good. The actual meal it self could have been seasoned better but nothing a little salt and pepper couldn't rectify. This is a no nonsense take-out joint. Does a good job though on the basics and prices are reasonable. I live in the area, have tried out a number of similar spots in the area and always come back to New Mr China. I am also a huge huge fan of Singapore Noodles (Chow Mei Fun) and this place has them on the menu and does them well (although a little spicy). Singapore Chow Mei Fun is a thin noodle dish with various vegtables and meats (shrimp, chicken, egg). Heavy on the noodle and meats and fried up with pepper and indian curry...Sooooo goood! My wife will want Pad Thai takeout from time to time and rather than order something else from the Thai menu, I will place an order here for the noodles and make 2 trips. So our first time ordering from the new Mr China was 8 days ago from the second time we ordered ordered completely different things and I have to say for everybody out there that's been so disappointed with the Chinese restaurants here in town as a local resident of 9 years who have to goes to his new China the food is exactly the way you order it and we order things differently no MSG no salt which really takes away the taste and somehow they make it taste delicious your food is delivered fast it's hot and it's exactly the way you order it both times so good that we literally put our Forks down and called them to say thank you five stars to new Mr China read more

We love our Chinese takeout. We moved to the area not too long ago and were on the hunt for our new go-to place. Requirements: decent prices, great crab rangoons, and stellar Kung Pao chicken. This place delivers (pun-intended) on all of those. Plus, they have coupons for free items depending on how much you order. Our crab rangoons were free! We had been ordering from another local place, but I was very underwhelmed and my chicken and broccoli (can we get any more basic?) was tasting incredibly funky last time. This is the best Chinese food ever! I don't even like Chinese food that much but I was very impressed with New Mr. China II. I went with my mom, dad, and brother. I got the steamed vegetables with brown rice and brown sauce. My dad got the General Tso's. My brother got the vegetable fried rice, and my mom got the beef Teriyaki. We all couldn't stop about how great our food was. All I can say is everything was perfect! The restaurant has a wonderful classic Chinese takeout atmosphere and the waitress was very friendly. Horrible experience with this restaurant. It took an hour and 15 minutes for the food to be delivered. I was told that it would be only 30 minutes. When I called the resturant to complain, I was treated poorly. When the driver did arrive he was on the phone with the restaurant telling him to return it. So this restaurant had me wait an hour and 15 minutes and I still didn't get my food. read more
