Stopped in for a quick bowl of hot and sour soup and it was fantastic!!! Best hot and sour soup I have found in the area. Can't wait to try other items on the menu. Staff was very helpful and did a great job taking care of me. This is a take out restaurant but there are booths and a table if you're grabbing a quick bite to eat. read more

Excellent Chinese food! Our go to. This is take out only. Very friendly staff. We drive from Manchester to get food.

Consistent and tasty Chinese food that is fresh and affordable. Love the chicken fried rice, broccoli and chicken stir fry and egg rolls.

hands down the best Chinese food in Glastonbury! Their food is top notch, very friendly staff, and I've never had a bad experience here. I live close enough to walk to get my order, and it's always nice to chat with the owner and staff. They only do take out but it's so worth it! Try their General Tso's Tofu, it's incredible! read more

Great place to visit. Guys in the front are really kind and the food is amazing!!! Only the problem is that it's so crowded so it's hard to find a parking spot. You should better call and order them before you get there. read more

Ming Bao - Chinese Near Me - Glastonbury, Connecticut

Friendly staff. Food is great. Only Chinese restaurant in area I like. Definitely recommend

This is my go to for Chinese food!! I've tried so many local spots but I've never had a bad experience ordering from here. Food is always ready in under 15 minutes no matter when you call. Staff at the register is always super friendly. Prices are extremely competitive - most lunch combos are big enough to be two meals and are almost always under $10. Can't recommend this place enough! ***One thing to keep in mind is that this restaurant is take out only*** read more

Ming Bao, which shares a Plaza with Square Peg Pizza, has been on my radar for a while. A nearby late morning appointment gave me the perfect opportunity to finally visit. Ming Bao is currently takeout only. We ordered the Twice Cooked Pork and Happy Family Lunch specials, which came with choice of soup or egg roll. We also ordered crab Rangoon. I ordered by phone. My order was ready on time. My phone and in person interactions were positive. It's clear that they have a good relationship with repeat customers. I think the Happy Family and Twice Cooked Pork were both above average. The meats/seafood/poultry and vegetables were all pretty good. The sauces for the two dishes were somewhat similar, but the Twice Cooked Pork was a bit saucier and spicier. Otherwise, both dishes had pleasant brown sauces that didn't make much of a statement. The crab Rangoon, pork fried rice and the egg roll were all about average to slightly above average. The outer and inner Rangoon textures were right on, but I prefer a slightly sweet filling, and this filling was not noticeably sweet. I prefer a bit more meat and variety in egg rolls, but it was otherwise fine. The pork fried rice was fairly routine. If I lived in Glastonbury, I'm sure Ming Bao would be part of my takeout rotation. I have similar options that are closer to me that I'm more likely to patronize. Four Stars read more

We do takeout every time we are visiting family here. Owner cares about his guests. Best Chinese food in the area

Honestly I come here about twice a week. Huge fan. Sesame chicken lunch special is mouth watering good !!! Ready in 10 mins & the staff is so friendly too!!! :) read more

Recommended by a friend we got takeout as they don't have dine in. I had shredded beef with garlic sauce and house special chow mei fun. Both were excellent and tasted very fresh. And I got a plus as a diabetic it did t raise my blood sugar like normal Chinese sauces usually do. I'll add more to this review when I go back again which will be very soon! read more

Exceptional food, generous portions, and reasonable prices. I drive from Coventry for take out. They also have the best house made fried noodles. read more

I've come by for a quick takeout lunch on a few occasions and have really be impressed by the food and the friendly service. On a recent visit, they were forming fresh dumplings in a corner. The lunch specials all come with soup or an egg roll but I ordered both. Really happy with that as the egg roll tasted fresh and most importantly wasn't oily! I dare say it was one the best versions of an egg roll I've had in a while. The hot and sour was also quite good. Not overly peppery and full of the stuff the soup is supposed to have. It's a big lunch portion too. Got general Taos chicken which I almost never Order but it seemed a good idea. I wasn't disappointed. Instead of something either more batter than chicken, this version had tender chicken that was only lightly breaded with a thin coating of sweet and spicy sauce. The sauce was also sparse which was good because you don't want too much of it overwhelming the fish. And the fried rice was fresh too without over cooking. Just a simple dish. Really impressed by the takeout and wished I lived closer. It's be my go to place for sure! read more

We had takeout from Ming bowl the other night. It was some of the best food we've ever had since we moved to East Hartford. There was plenty of food. The prices are fantastic. Everything was nice and hot when you got home. I just can't say enough about this place. If you like Chinese food this is the place to check out. read more

This is our favorite place for takeout - food is really good. I discovered a new favorite dish - chow mei fun. Have tried it at at least 4 other places, and Ming bau is the best. When they had dine in ( will that open again?) , was our go-to place. Clean, nicer atmosphere than most takeout places. Dine in at takeout prices. read more

Definitely a great spot to enjoy your favorite Chinese food. The staff is friendly and know their menu for sure. Great experience!!

For take out this place is good. We always call in our order which is easy and usually ready in 15-20 minutes and is nice and hot. I get the General Tso Tofu which is a very big size so great for the price. You basically get the whole container of tofu with some broccoli then white rice pint for the price of a chicken combo meal so I'm a happy camper! read more

Ming Bao - Half eaten General Tso Tofu - Chinese Near Me - Glastonbury, Connecticut

Great great food and great service. Egg roll was so good as well as the pork fried rice. amazing!!!!!

Glastonbury Chinese food is not great - If you like chinese food you have to travel elsewhere unfortunately. Coconut Shrimp had barely any sauce on it - please dont skimp - its the best part! Crab rangoons had NO flavor. Super dissappointing as rangoons are my FAVE! Husband got general tsos and fried rice. He said the chicken & sauce were good, but the fried rice was super dry and had no flavor. I will say they were very busy for a Wednesday night so maybe we need to try different dishes! read more

Awful. No taste at all, very greasy, very expensive. Won't go back to that place!!!!!

Great Chinese takeout with a friendly staff. The House specials are always a good choice

Great food and friendly staff. Some of the best chinese food in area!! I really enjoyed their bone on bbq ribs

I am visiting the Hartford area on business for the next 3 weeks. I was in the mood for Chinese food and saw the great reviews for Ming Bao, and decided to make the 15 minute drive to see what it's about. The inside of the restaurant is very clean and updated. The server was extremely friendly, as was everyone at the restaurant. I decided to get the General Tso's chicken and fried Peking Ravs. Both were the best I've ever had. The chicken was so crispy and flavorful, and the Ravs were out of this world. I am in the area for another 2.5 weeks, and I'm sure I'll be back at least 2 more times to try out the other options on their menu! Highly recommended! read more

Solid 4 star Chinese food restaurant, if I do say so myself. My co workers and I were talking about Chinese food all morning so we decided we'd follow through and order the lunch special from Ming Bao. I ordered the garlic chicken, and even though it was good, it didn't have much garlic. The pork fried rice and wonton soup that came with my meal tasted absolutely delicious and I hope to try more of their food in person next time instead of having just take out read more

Honestly not the best. Kinda disappointed. Heard good things so thought we'd give it a try. Fried rice has no flavor and dry, Sweet and sour chicken fingers soggy, and soggy general tso chicken. Lo mein was okay, and egg rolls were okay but no duck sauce in the bag or anything. Meh, mediocre. read more

Our go to Chinese food in town. Very close to our house. Very good sesame and sweet and sour chicken. Very good vegetable lo mein. Their fried rice is different than what I am used to but good. Love the family that owns/runs it. Super pleasant and friendly. read more

Excellent food. I drove all the way from Portland (CT). So many Chinese food restaurants are poor quality, not Ming Bao!

Regular customer. Best Chinese in the area. Pros: - Service is great - Dumplings are better than anywhere else - Lo mein, general tsos, chicken teriyaki, spring/egg rolls, wontons are all solid - It's consistent Cons: - Kung pao - Seafood read more

I wish you delivered! I dream that one day your Happy Family, Kung Pao, chicken wings or lo-mien will be on my doorstep. This place is great! I have no idea what the man's name is however he takes the orders. I really like him. He is friendly, kind and organized. read more

The place to go for carry out in the afternoons after soccer practice! Everything I've ordered from this restaurant is great: friend rice, boneless bbq ribs, broccoli beef...everything is good. The place is not the prettiest place out there but, who cares?! The food is great! The staff is extremely friendly as well. I order carry-out from here once a week. I highly recommend it. read more

Went on xmas day despite mediocre food once before, and no improvement. The main issue is that the food is not fresh. The wonton soup was inedible and had to be thrown away. The broth tasted like dishwater and the dumplings were disgusting. The lo Mein and fried rice were stale. The only good thing was the broccoli. This is very low quality food cooked poorly. It was crowded maybe because it was the only restaurant open. Glastonbury deserves a better Chinese restaurant read more

I like this place. Heck, I am tempted to give it five stars. After all, the food is consistently good, the service is outstanding, and the owners are on site making sure it stay that way. But, it is far from the best Chinese food I have eaten so I feel a need to differentiate it from that. The important point here is that this is a conveniently located place with tasty food at superb prices and the best darn service anywhere. And for a small mostly take-out Chinese restaurant, that says,a whole lot. Recommended highly. read more

My family and I love ming bao! We live just down the street and have been going there for many many years. I have fond memories of eating there when the dining room was still open. Even now, when it is available for take out only, it's still a staple in my places for take out. The staff are all very friendly and remember you every time. Great food! read more

Excellent quality food, efficient and friendly service Take out only. Shumai and chicken fried rice are consistently good.

Everything I've ordered over the years has been delicious, wonderful people - just waiting for dining inside again!

Staff was friendly and ordering was easy. I wanted to like the food but it was Luke warm and lacked flavor.
