Now that we moved about 1 hour away we still return every now and then. New Top China is the place I go to when I want some cheap and consistent Americanized Chinese food. They have great portion sizes, especially given the price, and everything tastes pretty good! I've never gotten seafood from here, but that's only because I rarely order seafood at a non-seafood restaurant. I like to call my order in ahead of time and everything is usually ready within the ~10 minutes it takes me to put shoes on, find the car keys, and drive over. The food tastes a lot fresher and cleaner than some Chinese restaurants I've been to for sure, and I really love their egg rolls and lunch specials. Additionally, they seem to have a wider variety of options than most Chinese restaurants. As it is with most counter service Chinese takeout restaurants, the service is pretty blunt and sometimes even rude. Coupled with the language barrier, it can be hard to communicate outside of your order. Overall, though, New Top China is probably one of the first choices I'd consider if I had a craving for some cheap, Westernized Chinese food in the area. read more

We've started going here on a semi-regular basis for take-out. The food is good and always ready promptly. The pricing is decent and competitive. The location is easy for us to get to. The customer service, however, is not good. Very rushed when taking phone orders, and they sound annoyed if you ask questions. They don't take your name or phone number, or tell you when it should be ready. That said, we've never had a problem with our order. I hope reading some reviews will make them aware of the problem. Just found out I am sensitive to MSG (or something else in this food)... Have ordered previously from here and have always thought those food was tasty and decent for the price, especially their veggie soup which is perfect for a cold night. Unfortunately this last time I ordered from them (lo mein, veggies & rice, soup) I got headaches and pains that ruined my weekend. Had effects after dinner and just to be sure I had some of the lo mein the next day and the headaches and muscle pain started again. Looked up the symptoms and it matches MSG syndrome pretty closely but of course something else could be at play also. Not sure if something has changed from before or if my body has changed, but something was not right and I will unfortunately have to stop ordering from here :( The food WAS tasty though so maybe you can keep ordering if you know you are not MSG-sensitive read more

Ordered my food over the phone and the guy didn't seem very polite when taking my order. He was confused about my order but it was quite simple "beef with broccoli and I want it spicy". When I went to pick it up my order was not even ready and it has been over 30 mins. When I received my food it was not hot or spicy. So I am reviewing this place for what it is, takeout Chinese. This place just recently opened and my boyfriend and I love some good takeout and it is close to where we live. The restaurant itself is rather plain. There are just a couple of tables. So it definitely looks like a place for takeout rather than dine-in, though it is available. We got Crab Rangoon to share. I got the House Lo Mein and he got the Chicken with Hunan Sauce. The Lo Mein was decent. It was just a little salty for me, but overall it was good. I really enjoyed the Crab Rangoon and we got a lot for the amount in which we paid. My boyfriend loved the chicken and barely let me have any! Hubby had the fried bean curd with veggies. The veggies were nice but the bean curd was soggy. The decor of the restaurant looked like it had come from some granny's yardsale. This is your normal cheap Chinese place. We ordered here a few times when we first moved to the area, but the sanitation score got really low so we stopped. The food was never great. Some things didn't taste the same as most Chinese places, and the meat was kind of weird in the few dishes we tried. DON'T order the beef. I'm not sure if it even is beef. It looks and tastes like rubbery tentacles. We made the mistake twice, and were disgusted both times. The sanitation score is low, and for me that is an instant deal breaker.
