Counsil Plumbing is the best! Mike came out for a consultation to determine what was wrong with…read morethe kitchen sink and within 15-20 minutes he new exactly what was wrong and that it would be an easy fix. He gave us a very reasonable price quote and worked with us as we saved the money we would need to fix the problem. As soon as we had the money we called and scheduled the appointment. I was given a promise that Valerie would call me 30 minutes before he would arrive to make sure someone would be home. Mike showed up within 5 minutes of the 30 minute time frame given. Knowing what the problem was he went right to work and didn't leave until the issue was resolved. He made sure that the clog was clear and even made sure the garbage disposal and dishwasher were working before he cleaned up and left. Mike took the time to explain everything he was doing and gave us some very interesting advice on how to avoid future plumbing issues. He is very knowledgeable and a pleasure to work with. I hope that we won't but If we ever have plumbing issues again I will be sure to call Counsil Plumbing. Counsil Plumbing is the son's small family business and should not be confused with "Mike Counsil Plumbing", the father's big high-end company. Both father and son are named Mike so it is easy to confuse the 2 companies but once you have pleasure of working with Mike (the son) you will never confuse the 2 of them again!

Disappointing Experience - Unnecessary Upselling and Poor Customer Service…read more I had a very disappointing experience with Counsil Plumbing. They convinced me to install an expansion tank for my tankless water heater, which I now question whether I needed in the first place. After the installation, every time our sprinkler system turns on, we hear a loud pounding noise that appears to be coming from the expansion tank. We never had this problem before their installation. When I contacted Counsil Plumbing to investigate, instead of properly diagnosing the issue, they were defensive and hostile, insisting that the noise was caused by something else in the house. They refused to take responsibility or thoroughly investigate the problem. To make matters worse, the pressure in the expansion tank still appears to be incorrect. What frustrates me most is that they were quick to sell me additional equipment but unwilling to provide proper follow-up service when problems arose. I expected professional troubleshooting and accountability, not a hostile attitude and excuses. Based on my experience, I would not recommend Counsil Plumbing. Be cautious about accepting their recommendations for additional equipment, and make sure you understand exactly why it is necessary before agreeing to the work.

The repair itself was done efficiently and with great attention to detail, and it's obvious they take pride in doing the job right the first time. They also made sure everything was clean and tidy before leaving, which I really appreciated. What really stood out was the honesty and transparency--no surprise charges, just fair pricing for high-quality work. It's not always easy to find reliable service like this, but they definitely exceeded my expectations. I highly recommend them to anyone in need of plumbing services and will absolutely call them again in the future!

Marty's has now saved us once…read more The first time when we had a leak in the master bath coming from the base of the toilet. Was a major leak and required removal of the toilet. No BS, fair price and quick work that day. MUCH better than some of the other plumbers we've had out. Second time was from majorly shoddy work from Superior Plumbing. We found out we had a $800 water bill and that there had been a leak where Superior did work. Immediately called San Jose water to have them shut off water to the house from the street (was below main shut off line). Ed from MArti's was here the next day and worked ALL DAY on one of the most difficult jobs I have ever seen. I know, because I was there all day to try and help any way I could. What Superior couldn't do in weeks, Ed did in 1 day. Awesome job, thank you.

By 4pm, I had received no call and after trying to get in touch with our contact person, I was told the tech was finishing up his last job and should be on-site soon. By the time 5pm approaches, I was told they would call me to reschedule. Of course, I received no call and when I tried calling a little after 5pm, the number went to voicemail because they were already "closed". The technician did end up calling me later that night to inform me that his "tools were stolen" (if that was the case, how did he finish up his "last job"?) and that he wasn't able to show up (that would have been fine had he tried to contact me as soon as his "tools were stolen"). Everything was handled very poorly on their end so we ended up finding another plumbing company to take care of our repairs.

After a bad experience with another plumber (see my profile for review), I contacted $15 for help…read more I was given a time frame between 9-1 and a phone call as to when they would show up. Within 30 minutes I got a call that they would be by within a half hour. They cleared my sewer line in an hour and it wasn't easy job since I didn't have an accessible clear out on my property. The only two areas that had a clear out was the sewer vent on the roof and the basement. The equipment was too heavy and area too narrow to carry the snake machine to the basement so the vent had to be used. Instead of one person to do the job, it now required two plumbers because of vent location. They got the job done, my house is regular again, and price was reasonable. By the way, it's no longer $15 for their service. I ended up paying $176 due to the need of having a second plumber. I recommend them.

I recently had an unbelievably horrible experience with Fifteen Dollar Sewer Service! I called them…read moreon Saturday to unclog a wash tub in our garage. We waited the 2 hour window. The plumber took nearly an hour jamming a hose down the drain, very roughly. I kept thinking that he was going to break the tub. He got the tub drain unclogged and left. I immediately started a load of laundry, and was surprised to see water spraying all over the floor! It turned out there now was a crack in the bottom of our wash tub after the plumber had worked on it. So I called Fifteen Dollar Sewer to let them know what happened. I was told that I needed to wait for another plumber to come and inspect it and take pictures. We waited the two hour window. A plumber came from Redwood City, agreed as to what happened with the last plumber cracking the tub and told us that at replacement tub would happen that night or the next morning. We would be called with the arrangements. No call, the next day, Sunday at 11:30 am I called an asked what was happening and was told that a plumber needed to come out and inspect the tub. I explained that that already happened and then she apologized and told me that the replacement tub would be that day, Sunday, between 1:30 and 3:30. So we stayed home Sunday afternoon waiting again on the plumber. When no plumber showed up at 5:00 pm, I called again and was told that oh looks like a plumber needs to come out and inspect the tub! I again explained we already have been down that road, and then they said oh yes, sorry looks like the plumber is out on an emergency. We promise to install the new tub tomorrow, Monday at 9:30 - 11:30. 10:30 Monday, Sergio the supervisor shows up. And can you believe not prepared to install the tub, he doesn't even know what sink is the issue. He is there to inspect the situation! When I begin to complain, he tells me not to give him any attitude or he will just walk away and not help me at all. The most unprofessional "supervisor" I have ever encountered. Finally after listening to our whole ordeal, Sergio gives me "his word" that he will replace our cracked tub, and as a sorry we messed up so bad, we will even fix the piping underneath to make future clean outs easier. This will be done tomorrow Tuesday 9:00- 11:00. "You have my word, I make the schedules, I make the decisions on these things..." Tuesday, 10:00, we are again waiting for the plumber, arranging our whole schedules to be home, and we get a voice mail saying that, "no, we are looking at before and after pictures, and we decided we did not crack your tub. We will not replace it." When I called to asked to talk to Sergio, not surprising, he is unavailable to talk to. I was told the before and after pictures show that our sink had scratches in it? What does that have to do with the plumber cracking our sink? How would we crack the sink in the minute the plumber left and me starting a load of laundry? Why would someone make that up? Fifteen Dollar Sewer, you should have kept your word and done the right thing. There is no excuse for how unprofessional you were! DO NOT GIVE THEM YOUR BUSINESS! SAVE YOUR TIME, MONEY AND AGGRAVATION!
