I bought a new home and needed to replace all the crumbling, leaking cast iron pipes with PVC. I called around and finally landed on Honest Plumber given its great reviews. I gave them a call and apparently Eddy had recently broken his wrist so he couldn't personally come out and see the property. Jorge, who works with him came out and did a thorough investigation of the place and provided a quote comparable, to the competition. The reason I went with these guys was Jorge impressed me with his attention to detail and thoughtfulness. He explained how pluming worked to me, potential issues with my setup that won't be addressed, what I need to watch out for. I felt like all the steps he laid out were reasonable and I knew very well the quirks with my particular system afterwards. Nothing much to talk about regarding delivery - prompt, on budget, on time, did everything that was promised. I'm no pluming expert, but didn't notice anything out of place from a cursory view. Highly recommended! I needed help to finish a botched faucet removal and replacement done by a previous plumber (i.e., yours truly!). The job was complicated by 16 years of rust and hard water and pre-existing terrible cracked granite countertops that hadn't been sealed and protected well at all around the faucet area. Eddie was able to schedule me within 48 hours of my call and Jorge from #1 Honest Plumber showed up ready to go. He inspected the issues with my sink and gave me an extremely reasonable flat-price quote to do the work. I agreed and then watched as Jorge did a skillful surgery to excise what remained of the old faucet, patched up my terrible granite like a dentist would patch up a cavity, and installed and tested my new faucet and soap dispenser. We found a leak in our water system in the kitchen under the sink. We remembered getting some really good help from Eddie at 1HonestPlumber and we gave him a call. Jorge came out and found problems with some of the pipes: leaking under the kitchen sink. We arranged for a service call the next day. Jorge arrived the next day and found a big problem with the drain pipes in our system. He opened the wall behind the sink and found failed connections between pipes. Further investigation under the house located more leaks. Jorge dealt with each of the discovered problems, restoring the system to good operation. Hands down one of the best contractors I've ever had the pleasure of hiring for work needed at my home. I called Eddie late the in day yesterday after discovering my 15 year old water heater no longer worked and I couldn't get the pilot light and burner back on. This was around 4pm and he already had quite a few jobs booked for the following day. We were originally looking at scheduling service for 2 days later but he called back and let me know that he could squeeze me in the following day between his other jobs. He texted later that evening to confirm that he picked up the new water heater. The next day, he arrived and started draining the old water heater, stopped by his other jobsite while that was going, then came back and installed the new water heater. He had a ton of calls coming in too and I was pretty impressed at how well he was juggling multiple projects and conversations. After he finished, he cleaned up the area and then skedaddled over to another job that was in progress. During the whole process, we had a great chat about trade work, cars, and some of his past jobs. Overall, he was really great guy to have at the house and he gave me solid advice on some other plumbing work that I had planned on doing myself. He even donated some fittings that I might need. He followed up later that evening to confirm that the water heater was working well, and it was. The price he charged for this work was really good compared to other plumbers in the area. This was actually the 2nd time I called #1 Honest Plumber. The first time was last year for a garbage disposal replacement and Jorge provided the service for that job. Whoever had previously installed the garbage disposal before I moved into my place did an absolute hack job with the kitchen sink drain pipes and it was really difficult to service. It also didn't help that my house is pretty old and the sink's drainage system connects to a cast iron pipe that sits relatively high. Jorge redid the drain system in a much more logically appropriate orientation that would make servicing it easier in the future. He was also super polite and gave me some advice on how I could set up my reverse osmosis system. So yeah, these guys are legit. I'd wholeheartedly recommend them to anyone I care about. read more

Eddy responded right away and gave me clear, up-front pricing (not all of them do that--one, in particular wanted $39 to give me a price estimate!). Had a problem with the water pressure in our shower so I requested a quote and Eddie got back to me on a phone call. He was very thorough in enumerating all the likely causes of the problem (old shower head or faulty diverter), and scheduled George to help us take a look at it. On the day of the scheduled visit, George quickly replaced the old shower head with the new one I purchased beforehand, which immediately fixed the water pressure issue. Ed and his team worked quickly and professionally to replace our tree-damaged (cracked and blocked) sewer main that was turning our front yard into a swamp. They added a city clean out and a 2-way building clean out, doing all the necessary permit work with the city. They not only Cleaned the drain- it needed it. But they also found and fixed the root cause of the problem- a toilet seal that was broken in the other bathroom down the hall!
