I had a kitchen sink clog this morning and I was lucky in that Vic was close by. He came within 20 minutes of my call. Snaked the drain and all done very quickly. He also pointed out a few things I should be aware of in the future, which I will be happy to work with him on. Vic is a great guy and I'm a very happy customer! read more

Vic was prompt in responding to my inquiry (I was looking for help with garbage disposal replacement), provided exactly the information that I needed to make an informed choice, and arrived right on the scheduled time for the work. He was super professional in his work and also shared helpful information to help with such issues in the future. I will recommend Vic to others needed similar services. Thank you, Vic. read more

High-quality work and a long history of reliability, but this recent visit was marred by unexpected pricing due to a lack of upfront communication. We've used this plumber three times over the past five years and have consistently been satisfied with the quality of his work. In our previous experiences, the pricing was straightforward and reasonable -- a flat $250 per job, even when he had to snake multiple areas. That reliability is the reason we continued to use him. This most recent visit was different. The job took about three hours, which we understood could result in a higher cost, but there was no discussion beforehand about a change in pricing. Given that his last visit to our home was about two years ago, this would have been a good opportunity to proactively mention any updated rates. After the work was completed, we were surprised to learn that he now charges $225 per snake, bringing the total to $675. We appreciate that the issue was resolved and remain happy with the quality of the work. However, the lack of transparency around pricing this time was disappointing. Clear communication upfront would have made this a much better experience. read more

Victor did a great job. I hired him 3 times and he clear the kitchen sink pipe every time. The last time is quite challenging. He climbed to the roof twice, run the snake. He snaked in the house under sink, and then use pressured water to clear the clog. He never give up and I highly recommend him to my neighbors. He snaked 3 times and used the water pressure to finally clear the clog. The price he charged is $600. And it saves me more money to avoid using high pressure air to clean the pipe. read more

Called Vic for a leaky drain on a sink. Required replacing a p trap in an awkward place. Vic was straight forward, communicated well, got the job done. When my other sinks start leaking, I know who I'll call. Thanks Vic. read more

Ok, so this review is years overdue and I owe him a big apology. A few years ago, on Thanksgiving Eve, our kitchen sink was clogged and no matter what I and some neighbors tried, we could not unclog it. So early Thanksgiving Day, I just started calling plumbers. Vic said he could be here in the morning and he showed up when he did and fixed the problem. He had to snake the line from the kitchen to our sewer main. It was gross, really gross. But Vic saved Thanksgiving and I wish I could give him 10 stars. Sorry it took so long to get you a proper review. read more

WONDERFUL customer service from Vic. We had a bathtub clog and Vic showed us step by step how he fixed it, talked us through it, and he also taught us how the drain system worked so we could prevent the clog from happening again. We're in Sunnyvale and he came by within 1 hour and the price was very fair. I'm helping my elderly mother and finding people to help out with home repairs can be hard. I would highly recommend Vic for plumbing because he will teach you about how the plumbing in your house works. Some plumbers just take your $ and are out the door, but Vic wants to educate you so you can be more knowledgeable about your home. Highly recommend! Will definitely use Vic again. We've found our new go-to plumber. Thanks Vic! read more

Vic has been our go-to plumber. He is honest with his assessment of the problem. Last year, our shower stopped providing hot water, it was the internal cartridge that had gone out. He pulled out the cartridge and a picture of it provided us the opportunity to order it quickly. Vic came back same day we received the cartridge, easy/done! Then we had a leak under our kitchen sink, same experience. Vic came out and evaluated and suggested we go back to Kohler manufacturer for free replacement since it was less than 1 year from purchase. Again, Vic came out once we had replacement part and quickly and easily installed. Will continue to use him AND recommend him to friends and neighbors. He is self employed and local and always quick to reply. I appreciate supporting a local small business owner. read more

5 Star experience with Vic. We have a dual flush toilet that had a fill valve replaced incorrectly by a handyman. The toilet wouldn't flush completely and would run longer than it should after a flush. Lesson learned; call a plumber for toilet repairs. Enter Vic. We selected him based on many outstanding reviews on multiple websites. He quickly replied to a voicemail and asked for a photo and video of the flush issue. Vic quoted a fair estimate, and told us he'd work us in as quickly as possible -- within a day or two. An hour later he called back to say he could come by same day on his way to another job nearby. He arrived on time, diagnosed the problem with the toilet quickly, and made the appropriate adjustments. Vic is personable and professional. He's the kind of plumber whose contact information you want to have saved in your phone. read more

Explained without Man-splaining, competent, polite and fast. Everything I needed to handle the job.

I contacted Vic for a faucet replacement based on yelp reviews and was very pleased. Vic was easy to set up an appointment with and arrived on time, no 2 hour window needed. He was professional and communicated really well about how I wanted it installed. He was very skilled and professional. We would use him again without hesitation. read more

Today was the 2nd time we've used Vic's Handy Plumbing. The first time was a bit over a year ago when our kitchen sink was clogged. We have very old pipes and our landlord just doesn't care. He came out, climbed on our dangerous roof to get his snake down the pipes to unclog. He explained what we could do to prevent this in the future and we haven't had any problems with that sink since! Fast forward to 2 days ago, yet another clog we couldn't troubleshoot ourselves in our bathroom sink. We even invested in a decent snake and couldn't do it ourselves. Vic showed up 4 hours after I called, snaked the line, checked for leaks and let us know what we could do with that sink to prevent toothpaste buildup in these old pipes, etc. I trust this guy, and he's super friendly. Prices seem to be comparable to other places and honestly, I'd pick him over all of them in a heartbeat. read more

I placed non urgent request for help with my leaky toilet in thanksgiving day. Most replied they could see me the next day with a mandatory service fee. But Vic's handy plumbing asked me to call them. They guided me through an easy fix on the phone in minutes. Yes, in thanksgiving day! Saving their number and will hire them for my next job. read more

Found Vic on yelp and he was able to come over within 1 hour. Super fast service and would recommend to everyone!

Vic is knowledgable, responsive, respectful, and trustworthy. All the qualities you need in a plumber. He checked our line for roots and provided recommendations for how to approach it. He also gave us some clarification around our toilets. I'll definitely be reaching out to him again for help in the future. read more

We are a repeat customer to Vic's. Great for plumbing repair and installation. Convenient scheduling and friendly service. Our toilet tank refill wouldn't stop flowing. Vic was awesome! He came to fix a leak in my shower. He was super nice and got me in the following day after I messaged him. I mentioned that our sink's In-sink-erator was stuck and he fixed it as well. So friendly and very helpful! read more

Vic is THE best! I called him to help fix my toilet, which was leaking from the base in all different directions. Vic came the next day and installed a new wax seal, along with screwing the toilet properly into the flange. I also love that he wore a face mask and shoe covers when he arrived. The visit itself cost $200, plus $10 for parts. He accepts cash, check, and Zelle (amongst other options) for payment. Vic provides exceptional service and great value -- I've saved his number for all of my future plumbing needs! read more

Our toilet is original to our place which means it is easily approaching 20 years old. What started as a weak flush escalated into a perpetually running toilet as the toilet could not quite fill itself to the point to tell the pump to stop filling it with water as the flap at the bottom had eroded. We tried our YouTube meets Amazon wizardry to try to replace the flap but our toilet was too old and it failed epically. We called a competitor who came out and diagnosed our toilet as being too old and quoted us an installation price that was fast approaching four figures -- not including the cost of the toilet! Keep in mind we were just asking for a standard toilet replacement, not a bidet or anything fancy. I called around and reached Vic and was able to explain my situation as well as provide photos of the toilet. He asked about the valve as well and I sent him a picture of that as well and recommended that it may need to be replaced as well. He was reasonable and was able to come quickly. Vic even offered to pick up the toilet for us, which was a great help and timesaver (toilets are REALLY heavy btw). The day arrives and Vic arrives on time and ready to roll when we realized the waterline was not shut off (even though the HOA implied this would be part of the process...). After confirming the location of the pipes in the building (unlabeled, mind you), Vic was able to turn off the waterline and completed the service in under 2 hours. He replaced the toilet as well as updated the valve so in the future we wouldn't have to involve the HOA to turn off the water supply. It was barely 11 am when he finished and I while I had steeled myself for a daylong ordeal he was already done -- new toilet installed, old toilet removed, all the social distancing protocols (masks, gloves, booties to cover his shoes) followed to a T. Thank you, Vic, for bringing a newfound quiet that we didn't even realize we were missing as well as a new toilet! read more

Noticed a leak on the floor by the base of the toilet. Thought I needed a new toilet so I called Victor to see if I needed to go buy a toilet and if he can install it. After describing my issue, he said my the wax seal was probably worn. When he said the wax seal was worn, I thought he was talking about the caulking around the base and I was like that's not gonna fix the leak under the toilet!? I guess the wax seal is the ring that the toilet sits on? Victor came and took the toilet out and replaced the wax seal and put the toilet back on. He flushed the toilet a few times to make sure there was no leak. He cleaned up all the working area. He's a small business owner and I highly recommend him (at least for toilet related needs from my experience). read more

Vic's Handy Plumbing was awesome from the very first call. Scheduling an appointment was easy and the plumber arrived earlier than he said he would. I had an issue with my toilet and I could not figure out what the problem was. The plumber inspected it and within no time he had noticed where the problem was. After the walk through, he quoted a price that was a little bit lower than what I had planned to use and I was really glad that I reached out to them. He was very knowledgeable and did the work very quickly on that very day and left everything very neat. It was great to work with him and did an awesome job! Our toilet was leaking from the base. Vic replaced the wax gasket in less than an hour and fixed the leak. He was professional and courteous. Especially important to us because we have an immunocompromised household member, Vic wore a mask the entire time, is vaccinated, and was happy to take a COVID test (negative result). This is the second time calling Vic, and we highly recommend him. read more

Vic installed a clean out and snakes our home twice trying to clear a drain. When this didn't work, Vic and Giovanni (a plumber associate) contacted Crowne Plumbing, as a last resort to perform a Hydro Flush on my sewer line. This didn't work either. Perplexed but not giving up, Vic was instrumental in explaining to a City sewer worker that something else was going on in that their was no evidence of a broken pipe and that the City of San Jose needed to find out the root cause of this sewer blockage. I checked with Vic repeatedly on the phone as helped guide me through my dealings with City of San Jose. Lo and behold, while installing a new primary sewer line the City failed to connect my lateral line to the primary sewer line. After digging up the street, reconnecting my sewer line and repaving the street, I now have sanitation services. My family uses Vic. He is honest, reliable and hardworking-You couldn't ask for more in a plumber. read more

I used Vic's services for replacing all the valves in my apartment. He responded pretty quickly on Yelp to all my messages and it was easy to get a quote and book an appointment. When the day of the first appointment came, an emergency came up and Vic called me early in the day to let me know about it and ask me how do I want to proceed with our job. I chose to postpone the work for later the same day, but the way that day went was not too satisfactory to me (there was a 3 way sync between me, Vic and the guy who was supposed to perform the service which did not go that smooth), so I let Vic know that I was not too happy about it. He owned-up to it and offered to do the work himself at a later time we convened to. When that day arrived, he was at my home on time and he did a great job. Overall I am really satisfied and I will definitely contact Vic for any future plumbing job I might have. read more

Vic was awesome! We had a sink which was clogged. We live in a townhome with close-fitting pipes and joints which are not easy to clean. Prior to Vic, another plumber inspected the clogging and could not fix it. Vic was able to snake through the drain quickly. I had leaky faucets on both bathrooms. Vic was recommended by one of my neighbors in the community so I decided to give him a call and scheduled for the service. He's very punctual, arrived right on time knocking at my front door! And of course he helped on getting rid off the old faucets from the sink and installed new faucets perfectly. We had a great experience working with Vic last year, and called him again this week for a flood in the kitchen. He very quickly identified the problem - a corroded pipe - and explained clearly what he'd need to do to access the pipe and figure out the extent of the problem. Since part of the corroded area was behind the cabinets, it was necessary to saw out part of a divider. He worked with us in advance to OK that and explain our options. At each stage of work Vic showed us what was going on and answered questions. He's very experienced and knowledgeable, and he worked with us to try to keep costs low while making sure the problem would be fixed. His price was very reasonable, especially considering he was on site for multiple hours and did a ton of work, including sawing, replacing pipes, and cleaning up. He also gave us helpful information about how to maintain our older pipes and how to change out our own faucet in the future. Highly recommended! 10/10 read more
