The only downside was we scheduled an appointment and they didn't take us until about 20-30 minutes after our time. While the salon is clean and nice looking, the quality of service is poor. I don't get my nails done often and they took advantage of that. I asked for a full set and for the second time in a row, they up-charged me for products I didn't ask for knowing I didn't know any better. Also during my pedicure, I watched as my technician did the bare minimum while I watched the technician next to him utilize better equipment (an electric nail file with different attachments) and provide a more detailed and thorough pedicure to their client, even though the one I got was more expensive. When I went to pay for the full set and pedicure, I was sick at the price as it was at least $25 more than I expected - and this didn't include any designs!! I asked several times for basic designs that have been common for a decade but was told they didn't provide that. I had gone to this salon on and off for several years and never had any major issues with basic manicures. However, after this last experience I will NEVER give them business again and will make sure to let family, friends, and coworkers know not to do business there either. Life is hard enough without having to feel taken advantage of by a nail salon. There are other nail salons less than a mile away that provide better quality services! I also got a MAJOR attitude from the male technician with the shaved sides of head and pony tail named Kenny. I came in for a mani pedi and while he was doing my pedi, I asked if he had clipped my cuticles before he started my polish (he had not, nor had he buffed them.) but then after that he was hostile towards me the whole time, twisting and jerking my fingers, shoving the gel lamp from side to side with my hand inside, and at one point he dug his long thumb nail so deep into my thumb, only stopping when I moved it to check for blood. When I paid he did not give me my change, and said incredulously,"you want your change?" When I asked for it back. My 1 regret is then leaving the $5 as a tip, which I only did to show you do not just take your tip, you wait for it to be given. read more

WORST gel fill I've ever received. Never go here. They are such a joke. First of all I asked to come in at a specific time and they said they were too busy so I had to wait an hour and a half....so i still got there about 20 minutes earlier than my appointment and there were all of 2 customers in there and multiple nail techs sitting on their phone so not sure why I had to wait an hour and a half but okay. I told them I needed to be in and out within an hour, which my normal place takes 35 minutes for a fill so that's almost double the time - plenty enough time. A girl started doing my nails for about 5 minutes then decided to sit on her phone again so a guy came and took over. I asked him to trim down just what grew out.....normal request and the guy did not understand me and I had to say it 3 different ways. Lengths are all over the place. He was slow as a snail doing the drill and the powder and used WAY too much of it where it was piles of powder on my nails. I told him I wanted to keep the coffin shape and as you can see, LITERALLY each nail has a different shape and a different length. There's gel and powder running down the side of some nails and most of the nails aren't smooth and flat because of how much powder he used. And to make it all better....I came in with 1 nail popped off and that same nail is already half off again as you can see, so he didn't even put the new nail on correctly and securely. He also didn't have me wash my hands and put the polish right over all of the shavings and dust. 0/10. Horrible service, horrible quality. I got MAJOR attitude from the male nail tech when I asked him to please make my nails shorter and round them out a bit. He was aggressive when he dipped my nails in the powder and was visibly annoyed that my thumb was "too stiff" and so he just kept shaking my hand by the thumb aggressively with a huff and a puff and a head shaking. Been going here for seven years and have NEVER received such a nasty attitude. FYI...he's the tech with the side of his head shaved and long hair on top pulled back into a pony tail. read more

I have been going to New Sun Nails on Empire Boulevard since they first opened. Every single time, I have had an amazing experience. I have had the regular manicure and pedicure, the spa manicure and pedicure, eyebrow waxing, chair massage and eyelash extensions. Great results. Everyone is friendly and skilled. The salon itself is very clean and sanitizing and masking is followed even though most places have relaxed on this. Very good that safety of employees and guests are a priority. I have recommended New Sun to every person I know. When they went for services, I heard back that they thoroughly enjoyed the experience. They were surprised to find that they received a shoulder massage as part of the manicure service. It's all about the little attention to details! You won't be disappointed, give them a try. I appreciate the prices but due to their poor customer service I will not return. I initially tried this salon 2months ago hoping to find a new spot to frequent. When I arrived about 1.5hrs to closing, I was barely greeted then made to feel like it was a burden that I was there. I requested a pedicure and manicure and was rushed through the process. The gentleman giving me a pedicure appeared to be in a rush and was very rude. He managed to finish my pedicure before anyone else's despite those other customers being there and starting their pedicure before I did. On top of that the manicure was rushed as well. I requested just a clear coat for the manicure and the same gentleman that did my pedicure didn't even bother to put on more than one coat of clear nail polish. In an effort to give this place a fair assessment, I returned for the same pedicure and manicure. This time a women completed my manicure. She was nice and thorough which I appreciated. Another women started my pedicure and the same gentleman that did my initial pedicure came in to complete the pedicure. As before, he rushed through polishing my nails and again was very rude. After he was finished me grabbed my belongings, lifted my arm rest and grabbed my forearm in an attempt to get me up. The manor in which he did it was forceful and uncomfortable. Unfortunately the men who give pedicures don't tend to pay much attention- after having my toe filed to the point of bleeding last time, this time I spoke up when it began to hurt, only to find the pedicurist was paying no attention to me or my feet. I had a technician working on me and they pulled him to another customer. He took his tools and worked on the new customer without even cleaning the utensils! I was so baffled and shocked. I had initially gone to this salon a couple weeks back, and had loved it. so i returned today with 2 of my friends and my 2 nieces. we all had an appointment for 5 pedicures. when we walked in the staff acted confused as if i had not called in an appt the day before. they told me they couldn't find my appt and proceeded to split my party up. my 2 nieces and i got seated about 20 minutes before my two friends. my nieces pedicures were rushed and only lasted 10 minutes.
