Be aware!! This place charges a tip without informing customers! They deliberately do not provide an itemized receipt showing the charges and only give a copy with the total amount. On top of that, they still bring out a tip tray after the meal, making it seem like gratuity has not been added yet! When we questioned the charge, the staff reacted defensively and acted as if we were in the wrong Their attitude was rude and unprofessional, which seems to be a recurring issue here. I think I've had too much panda. The honey walnut shrimp which is usually my favorite didn't have much flavor and the broccoli beef also flavorless. Seating was good. The place was new and fresh. Lots of staff with fast service. The spice and flavor just was lacking. Seems the recipes are getting watered down... that's my impression. read more

I have been going to new panda buffet for years now with my best friend every time we're around culver city. It's was a great spot to grub. But despite being regular customers we have been kicked out twice from the restaurant. I understand first time was towards closing so they hawk us down while we are eating and kind of pushy to make you leave. Yesterday which was the second time It was around 8:24 pm and we were seated earlier and they close at 9 pm, one of the servers came up to our table and hands me a container for my ice cream saying "take your ice cream home because we're going home" and took the plate of food I was eating. I felt very unwelcome and uncomfortable and it hurt my feelings as if they don't like us or want us to go there and we always tipped, we never asked for anything, me and my best friend are very soft spoken kind people, we have never been difficult customers but their behavior was rather rude and unprofessional. kicking us out like that while I was still eating just because they decided to close 40mins early was baffling to me. They were also a table behind us everyone gathered up speaking in their own language and I felt like they were making comments about us as they were hawking me down while I was eating until one of them just walked up to us and told us to leave and take my dessert home and just takes the plate and soda away trying to say I have eaten enough. If they are open till 9pm then they're open till 9pm you don't just kick customers out 30-40 mins before closing because they suddenly decided to close early and snatch the plate of food I paid for from my hands. This buffet is better. I have been trying to get my lunch crew here for a long time, and I finally did yesterday. They have great food choices, but it seem that the employees only want you to eat a certain amount of food. They may be a little cheap in supplying certain foods because the cost to buy and make it. This time I felt like they were rushing me and my work crew to eat and leave. That's not very cool at all. So I gave them 3 stars for that kind of behavior. Bathrooms are nasty here. The food is not bad, but, the customer service is poor. The wait staff are extremely rude. My companion and I were recently dining there and were leisurely enjoying our lunch. We were approached by a waitress that examined our receipt and informed us that there was a time limit of apparently 2 hours. No where is this posted at the front. We had already finished eating and were just visiting and talking. There were plenty of empty tables, so, we weren't taking a table from a potential diner. We won't be returning. I was extremely disappointed. I have not been to this buffet in years and after a conference on Saturday someone suggested we go there. Our party included six adults, two teenagers and a 2-year-old. First issue is they charged for the 2-year-old who ate probably four french fries. As we sat in dined, we all noticed how nasty The waiter and waitresses attitudes were, they tried to give the impression that they could not speak English and they kept rolling their eyes at us and slamming the dishes. This is within the first 30 minutes. Now we did sit there talking for a while, and the teenagers did go back multiple times but the adults worked on one and a half plate each, two had a small portion of dessert, while one only drank one glass of soda the entire time. We were really just there enjoying our fellowship. Even after one of the ladies and the teenagers left. We continue to talk still not eating but they kept rolling their eyes slinging dishes and talking in their foreign language over us. It's got really uncomfortable but we were enjoying our conversation so we continued. While we where leaving they literally cheered as if we were there posing a problem. Two of us laughed but but there was a great offense. While trying not to pull the race card because we were the only black people in that, it was not crowded at all. So we didn't understand why the tension and why such a celebration while we were leaving. Again we barely ate, all we did was sit and enjoy each other's company we were not taking space from other customers yet, it was a very ugly experience. Me and my dear friend Zachary of 10 years visited new panda buffet on a Sunday night to kick off the new week. when we first entered the establishment and we're greeted by a warm Chinese lady behind a plexiglass window. She charged this money which was higher than it was on the photo and yelp $20 per person yet she let us charge table where there was a slight confusion with if you're dining with the two older men yet we were not and therefore did not have a receipt.we indulged in various foods like orange chicken all the way to Jell-O. The lobster and probably the rice were the least favorite items we indulged in this evening. Yes, our favorites were probably the orange chicken and the chicken skewers, which were both made fresh and very delectable. My last visit there, employee and customer got into an argument because there were 5 plates of food for 5 paying customers. Don't let the reviews discourage you. Good for its price! $18.99/pax on weekends but $13.99 on weekdays. CRAB LEGS AND SALMON, thats what we mostly ate. Sushi was okay. I didn't try everything but I had a pretty good meal :) It did its job! Service was okay, they cleaned after plates pretty quickly and were nice. Aesthetically wise, don't expect too much. Growing up in Bakersfield, all you can eat Chinese American buffets was a common thing. LA has the tendency to try and make things very hipster, but this was the pay for your quality type of food and I enjoyed it quite a lot. Very much worth the amount you pay. Servers are always giving a little attitude, but that's just apart of the experience in my opinion. They always have the philosophy of moving slow and not checking up on you because they know you will be there for a while since it's a buffet. Good overall food! read more
