If you're looking for simple, fast Americanized Chinese food presented in a clean, friendly setting, New New Buffet won't disappoint. Their hot line is representative of all the standards on a neighborhood Chinese restaurant menu: beef with broccoli, chicken with broccoli, sesame chicken, orange chicken, orange beef, jalapeno chicken, lo mein, fried rice, teriyaki chicken, etc. Most are solid renditions of their namesakes, and, quality-wise, are comparable to food court Chinese. New New also has a fried food section containing everything from crab rangoon (or is that just cheese rangoon) to jalapeno poppers and chicken wings; a soup bar populated by the predictable wonton, egg drop and hot/sour soups; a cold bar with california rolls and crab legs in abundance (along with drawn butter and ginger/wasabi sides); a salad bar (nothing exciting here), and a dessert bar overpopulated by cookies and cakes-no doubt purchased in bulk from a local warehouse club. Patrons who don't like guessing what's on their plate will be pleased with the taste and value of New New's buffet. On a Sunday lunch visit, the hit on the wallet was $9.99 a person, plus drinks and tax. If you're looking for can't-go-wrong neighborhood Chinese in bulk, this is the place to go. But if your tastes gravitate to the more authentic, the Josey/Beltline intersection where First Chinese resides is a short drive down the road. read more

I have read many of the reviews for this restaurant and after going and eating there. I would not give this place another look. The food was cold no flavor. Could not eat the beef to tough. Being new to the Dallas area Kim and I had the urge for Chinese. We noticed a place on Beltline in a shopping center... NEW NEW! Hostess was very polite. She took our drink our drink order immediately. The surroundings and atmosphere were nice. Soft Chinese music filled the air... not too loud. There were lots of buffet tables unlike the places I frequented before. We loaded up several times before hitting the desserts of all kinds only to top it all off with ice cream (LOTS!) I loved it and will make it my new buffet home! read more

Good lunch selection, they even had sushi which was delicious. For an $8 buffet, it was well worth it. Since it's the summer time there were more kids eating than adults so it was a bit loud - totally not the restaurants fault. I will be back for sure. read more

This is one of my weekend dinners alongside with my girlfriend. She loves the food here and she's always excited to come here every Sunday. She loves the fish and beef and broccoli while I also enjoy the fish and salt and pepper fish. Also the waitresses were surprisingly aware of our needs, refilling our drinks when needed. I've been going to this restaurant for years, and while I do enjoy the food immensely, I can say that the overall quality over time has fluctuated greatly, and is lower than it has been in the past. 4 or 5 years ago, i vouldve easily given this restaurant 4 stars; but now, my recommendation is only half-hearted. Whereas before, there was a calm atmosphere, now it is chaotic. Additionally, when one enters and leaves the restaurant, one is bombarded by the smell of food; it is to such a degree that the strong smell of buffet gets stuck on your clothes. As for the gfood itself, it is generally good, and in some cases excellent, but the taste is inconsistent. One many occasions, I've tried the same foods maybe a week apart, and the taste is completely distinct, and in some cases off putting. This is also true of the ice cream, which has varied immensely in texture, especially recently. Price-wise, it is reasonable; after all it is a buffet. But do keep in mind that the quality is inconsistent. read more

VERY clean interior and bathrooms, sweet servers, and even though it was a medium slow night, every dish was fresh, and looked really good. All the meat was tender, there was plenty of sushi, and the seafood was fresh and firm. They've been here 11 yrs. in Addison. That says something. Oh, and very very affordable. Let me start off by saying that the 1 star rating has nothing to do with the food. It has everything to do with sanitation. If I was basing my review on the food, it would get 4 stars. I haven't run across anything I don't like there. Especially the crab rangoons...mmmm! I have eaten here many times, but the last time I ate there, I was truly disgusted by what I saw. My husband and I had just finished eating, I needed to use the ladies room before we left (I had drank too many glasses of tea). When I opened the door to the restroom, I was absolutely shocked at the smell. As I went down the row of stalls, each door I opened had a more shocking and disgusting view and smell. I nearly vomit ted. I got down to the handicap stall and it only had urine in it, so I kicked the lever and flushed it. I wiped the urine off the seat and decided I had to pee way too bad to go somewhere else, so I "hovered over the toilet to pee" While I was cleaning the toilet before I could pee, someone else had come in the restroom. This person went into a stall and did not flush - which freaked me out but hey, that's their choice! As I began to hover, the person began to go #2 with loose stool and lots of gas. Again, I nearly get sick, because the toilet (all of them) was already full of someone elses loose stool - apparently splash back was of no concern! I quickly run for the sink after I pee to wash my hands. There is hardly any soap and the water is cold. As I am standing there and finishing "washing my hands" with what they had, I start to get out my hand sanitizer - that is when I see the person who was just going to the bathroom - she did not flush, went straight from the stall out the door. I followed out right after her because I couldn't stand the smell any longer. Then I realize she is in a uniform and heads right into the kitchen. I stand there and stare as I see her grab a tray with some food, drop a piece of something bread-like on the floor, pick it up, put it back on the tray, then head out to refill the buffet. She NEVER washed her hands after she went #2 - then immediately touched food. I again almost got ill, I went back to our table, knocked the cookie out of my husbands hand he was attempting to eat and told him we need to leave now. As we left, I explained to him what I had witnessed. I didn't discuss this with anyone who works there, I was too grossed out. Again, the food there is great, there is just no telling what "extras" you might be getting with your food. read more

Food is the same every time I've been - menu does not change. Very crowded w/ kids running amok and using their hands to get things directly from the buffet. Also, be careful when you are paying out at the front register as they do not help one person at a time but try to take care of multiple people at once. I think this is my new fav asian buffet around here. The quality and selection seems better than the other asian buffets I've tried in the DFW, and I've tried quite a number of them. They have orange beef and BBQ pork ribs with the red chinese bbq sauce, which I find delicious. You mostly don't find orange beef and red BBQ pork ribs at most asian buffets, but they got it here. Please don't remove those two items! And I'll be sure to pop in to this buffet every now and then. They also have fruit, salad, dessert bar, and soft serve vanilla ice cream machine to finish off your meal. read more

i looked and tasted and walked out on many chinese food buffets in my life time. my wife is one of the most finnacky eaters in the world it seems like sometimes. we went here and i always ask her to go and look at the food to make sure we are going to eat there. she liked it! she really liked it! the food is good the price for the lunch is great (get in there before 3:30pm the price goes up too much and weekends) there is a cop that eats there every time i have been there so you know thats a good sign of being good. the lady's are great too. read more

Don't go to this place unless you want to be driven crazy with the kids running up and down the aisles and playing with (your) food on the buffet. I've complained to the manager the last two times I've been there, but they just don't seem to care. I visited on a Sunday night. There were no signs labeling the food, so it was your best guess on some of the items as to what they were. The sushi was edible at best, the wasabi was this green gloppy stuff that you almost felt nervous to take. The rice chips were stale, the food looked really old (a lot of it), and once I served myself some shrimp I decided not to eat any of it...it was overcooked and left me wondering if I would begin feeling funny in the tummy. I had to hurry up and leave before I would begin to feel sick from the question of the freshness of the food. I didn't even feel the hesitation to try dessert. This reminded me of something out of National Lampoon's...a questionable assortment of food that would otherwise have appeared as a joke. It might have been the worst buffet I've been to...I walked out feeling like I had made a complete waste of $10...although I did consume some form of nourishment for the evening and, thankfully, it did not result in illness. I suppose it could've been worse but I would like to say that I wouldn't recommend this restaurant to anyone and I wish I hadn't visited this restaurant. read more

NewNew is a NoNo! Most everything on their buffet is breaded and fried (so not healthy), and what little stir-fry foods they did have weren't very good or flavorful, other than being salty. Basic vegetables were bell pepper, onion and broccoli. If anything had carrots, bamboo shoots, snow peas or water chestnuts, I didn't see it. They had only two varieties of sushi, and its rice was mushy and overly sweet. The egg drop soup was watery and no flavor. Definitely a family place; kids were all over the place, including one at the salad bar helping herself to grapes with her hands. $23 later and we left hungry. Will never go back. read more

Skip this place and drive a few blocks to Lin's Asian Buffet - they won't let you down like this place did. Don't let the fake reviews on their site fool you, this is an average to less than average Chinese buffet with limited selection. Even dinner wasn't any different and still cost more $. The biggest issue I had was that their white rice isn't kept in a rice cooker but left on a steam plate on top of a paper towel... it was dried out and had an odd moldy taste to it. I asked for some new rice which I watched the server bring out from the kitchen and still had the same taste. Very small, only 2 buffet tables for actual food while they have 2 for salad/fruits alone. TOO disproportionate and probably the only way they made profit. For dinner, there were no crab legs no shrimp no bbq or anything out of the ordinary than what you'd expect at a cheaper lunch option. Bathroom is disgusting and in the handicapped loo stall, there were large white buckets which had food in them. Bathroom is not supposed to be the storage!! There was a lot of noise coming from the kitchen as well if you sat to the back. I wouldn't even take out from here :( read more

I really like this place. I was craving Chinese food, and I was super hungry... so I came to Yelp and started looking up Chinese buffets. After going through many of the reviews, saying it was clean and yummy, I decided it was worth a shot! It was verrry clean (Purell dispensers on 2 out of 5 (i think) bars) and there was a man who was cleaning up the counters as I was getting my food. Which made me feel good. It was $24.50 for 2 adult buffets and drinks. They have the common Chinese entrees (like orange chicken and that stuff...) and they have many sides, and they have clams, and crawfish and sushi. And a salad bar, and dessert bar, and also another dessert counter. So they have tapioca and strawberry bananas and macaroons and pudding and cookies and ice cream. and then they give you two fortune cookies with your check! haha(: and they have peppermints at the front. but seriously, I really like their food. Ok - I will say I have read all the reviews and I hardly post anything but I have to about this place. I found this place when one of my other places closed down. I fell in love with it. I knew one of the girls that worked there from another placed that I use to go to. The food is awesome. I got my coworkers addicted. When I met my hunny I took him there and he was hooked. There is so many choices but everytime I take him back there he only goes to the front row of food for two items and that is the fried rice and the hot butter shrimp. He can eat at least 6 plus plates of just those two items. I told several people from the little bar that we go to and took 13 people with us and I didnt think I would ever get them out...they loved everything. The staff was awesome as always and there is always a huge variety of food. We never make it to the dessert part of it. They always keep the crab legs, shrimp, oysters and everything else stocked so you dont have to wait for anything. Oh and this is a place to take the hunny for an anniversary lunch or dinner as well as friends and family. I would recommend this place to anyone and I hope that they never close down. read more

ok, i have gone here before, tried it, it was alright. and i live close, so that helped tremendously. but, after the last time never again. here's what happened. never have i had good service, and once again i didn't. that's not my issue. my wife had a plate, i was coming back to the table as i had gotten another one, and she looked like she was choking. i hurried, and she spit out, i kid you not, what looked like a nut (like nuts and bolts), and we called the waitress over. she looked at it, tried to take it, and we asked for the manager. he tried saying it didn't come from them, and we're both like, well it was in the shrimp. that wasn't from us. he made us feel cheap and dishonest. we will NEVER ever return. read more
