I have gone here for years. Under new ownership the quality of the food has really gone down. Where once there was plentiful beef, chicken...whatever protein you ordered now the protein is near non-existant. Chicken Szechuan was mostly carrots, peppers and onions, perhaps 3 pieces of chicken in the dinner portion. Same with the beef ho-fun 98% noodles with hardly a piece of beef to be found. 100% horrible all the way!!! I guess it is under new management. I placed my order online at at 1123am for pick up. I called right after to make sure they received my order. She said yes and it will be ready in 20 mins. We get there and waited an hour for our food even beyond the 20 mins. People were coming in and placing their orders after we got there and getting their food as we still standing waiting for ours. No one would talk to us to let us know how much longer. When we FINALLY got our food, we come back to the office and see they forgot our bottled drinks and some of our food. AND to top it off, the food was discustings. I really used to love this place. The food doesn't taste the same and the portions are smaller with higher prices. I think I'm going to give it a break for a nice long while. I always love a good hole in the wall spot. They're in a very interesting location in Addison. Two flights of stairs to get to the restaurant if you're dining in. Just have to mention. Once you're in, there are lovely people upstairs that will sit you and serve you from their vast menu. In a weird situation I actually ordered food to go but ended up sitting at the restaurant. We unpackaged our food there and got to eating. I ordered the sweet and sour chicken lunch special. There is definitely a lot of value there. My favorite addition was the garlic sauce. They made that really well so I took that to go. Everything was up to my standards. The soup could use a little salt but I thought it was good for me. The shrimp fried rice is so good, seasoned perfectly and has a good amount of decent sized shrimp in it. You don't even have to add soy sauce. Automatic 4 star there!! I've also ordered the kids sweet and sour chicken, and the all white meat general tso chicken is good too. The small wonton soup includes 3, and yes I said 3, wonton for just $3.00!! None of this $3.00 charge but here's some broth and 1 wonton mess. On a recent visit, I had the combo lo'mein which melted in my mouth! Again seasoned perfectly, veggies cooked perfectly...my lawd. I'll definitely keep that in the rotation. They are admittedly a little pricey and one may argue the portions could be bigger, but I leave full and satisfied. Admittedly, I only come here once a year. This was my third visit. The food was amazing on my first two visits, and I was excited about returning tonight. This time the food was very disappointing. I had sweet & sour chicken with fried rice. The few pieces of green peppers, onions and pineapple that were on the plate had a weird flavor that seemed very soap/chemical in nature. The chicken and the rice were quite dry and the whole meal left an unpleasant aftertaste. On the plus side, the girl who took my order was nice and the chips and sweet and sour sauce were tasty. Not too bad - it's a mix of Chinese and Japanese food. They have a TON of items to choose from. Sushi choices, veggie choices, appetizers, LOTS of choices. If you can't find something to choose from at Jasmine, then you must be a picky person. I used an online delivery service and ordered the "Fried Tofu with Garlic Sauce." It includes your choice of steamed rice or fried rice, and the entrée itself (not including the rice) was a LOT of food. It seemed to weigh about a pound and a half - I'm not kidding! It included plenty of carrots, snap peas, water chestnuts, celery, and onions. The sauce was garlicky (but not overwhelmingly so) and had a sweet taste to it. It was good, but it was not as spicy as I had hoped, and although the tofu was decent, it could have been a little more firm. I also added an eggroll for an additional $3.25 - it was mighty tasty, but a little on the small side for $3.25. I'll check them out again, but will probably try something else from their expansive menu (and avoid the pricy eggrolls). read more

I have been going to Jasmine Unique Chinese for 5 years now, and can say that I only appreciate it more and more as time goes on. The location itself was a little confusing. They're on the second floor with no elevator access, so if you're handicapped or it's hard to walk, I'm not sure what options there are other than delivery. The food is always delicious. The sauces the right consistency, and even though Doordash is out of their hands, they package it perfectly so the delivery never dulls the quality too much. I can't recommend them enough. read more

The food is below par. Went for lunch and was craving sweet sour chicken for some reason. It was a dry, and not as flavorful as I would have liked. The steamed rice had a yellow tint to it, very dry as well and I didn't eat much of it at all. The egg roll was okay, and the hot sour soup was just bland. The service was great though, but not making up for the food. It was a good place to go back in the early 2000's. New owners maybe? I'm sorry to say, I won't be back. It was a place to go for the ambiance, and food, but now, I have plenty of choices up here in Frisco that are much better by far. Just gross. I got the calamari maki roll and yellowtail roll, seaweed salad, and miso soup. Both rolls are inedible. The fish is gummy and absolutely flavorless. The yellowtail quite literally has no flavor. The maki roll is only slightly better due to the sauce. I drenched them in soy sauce and wasabi and still couldn't get through it. We went on a Saturday night and the place was nearly empty. Wow. I hope they make it. We had a very good experience. Hot and sour soup was excellent. My crispy egg roll was hot, crispy, and not greasy. Very tasty. I would get both again in a heart beat. Mu shu beef was excellent ($10.95). Comes with four big pancakes that are the size of tortillas. Flavor was very good and the beef was tender. The wife got Szechuan delight and asked for it not too hot and it was perfect. Very tasty, good quality shrimp, beef, and scallop. Our server was efficient and fast. Overall, a very good restaurant experience. Picked up Shrimp Egg Foo Young and Shrimp with Black Bean Sauce (beautiful shrimp, broccoli, onions, green peppers, mushrooms, baby corn in a rich brown spicy sauce -- but not too spicy.) Both were absolutely wonderful but especially loved the Shrimp with black bean sauce! There's no wonder why this restaurant has been in business for more than two decades. After many years as a loyal Jasmine customer (usually dining there, not takeout), in our last two visits it seems something has changed and not for the better. The new-look menu has different choices, a hint of possibly new ownership and kitchen staff. Overall our food was no better than average. Our beef and pork dishes were very disappointing compared with the old Jasmine. The ingredients seemed cooked fairly correctly but not flavorful. Egg rolls were very bland. Flatware was dirty and waitstaff did not anticipate we might want to share our entrees and needed serving utensils and extra plates. read more
