Owner was very nice and yiu order before you shop and it's ready by the time you're done! It looks like they expanded inside but still cramped.compared to the larger markets. Price wasn't competitive but it's convenient since it'd right in this shopping complex. Parking is a nightmare since the spots are much tighter than other locations and there are lots of cars because of a popular Korean BBQ spot. I did find an amazing, deli house Korean blood sausage vendor inside! I got the small and it's literally one of the best I've had in awhile and potions are large. I believe I paid $13 for a huge plate. If not anything else, please get the sundae/blood sausage. read more

So it seems that the guy who sells the fish stuff with red beans in the back of the store is not part of the supermarket. I dont know if people realize but what is important is that he is an important part of the neighborhood. The stuff fish with the red bean filling are always freshly made to order, he makes the recipes and he makes it right before your eyes. God bless his soul, he makes the kids very happy with all of his offerings. I just came back and me the 6 for $10 deal, totally worth it. Awesome snack or even better a nice quick breakfast in the morning when you have to run out of the house with something quick. New Mart is a local supermarket in our neighborhood and the decor is outmoded, tiny & narrow-spaced. The products lineup is limited with higher prices but they are mostly fresh. During COVID-19, every customer was required to wear a mask and gloves. The owner provided free gloves and hand sanitizer at the entrance which was a great countermeasure. My husband and I were interested in their prepared food especially the Korean blood sausages. We will plan to visit again and try to get it. read more

After discovering this small Korean grocery store, I keep on coming back here especially when I get tired of H-mart banchan (Koran side dishes), priced better, find the vegetable and fruits are very fresh and they have a lot of what I need or want. However, it seems like every non-Korean item is overpriced compared to the Key Food/Holiday Farms nearby. For Asian items, I'd rather come here over HMart any day of the week. This tiny market reminds me of Korea and I love it. Bought some food to go and bought a big portion of blood sausages from the cutest grandma. Ate half of it and used the other half to make a spicy blood sausage stir fry! Also got a kimbap and fried chicken combo for a ride trip and it was absolutely the best rode trip meal with no mess. read more

This Korean grocery store isn't too big but has a lot of Korean snacks and other foods inside. I personally love to come for the red bean taiyaki, which I find to be the best one around! It's $2 for one or $5 for 3 and the man in the stall is very nice but always tries to push you to buy 3. I walked through New Mart because I came from the snack shop located in the back parking lot. The prices for snacks in this store is significantly higher than other Korean supermarkets. I wouldn't come here unless I really needed something for a recipe that I can't get in HMart. It takes about 10 minutes for taiyaki to be prepared. Snack shop owner wasn't the best at communicating prices and menu selection available. He hesitated to give me change after I paid him. The taiyaki was really cute but had a rubbery texture to it. I saw that the prepared walnut cake was left out in the open without a cover. read more

In the parking lot side entrance they have a vendor that sells fish shaped pastries (Bungeo-ppang) and walnut cakes (Hodugwaja). The Bungeo-ppang can be filled with red bean or custard and it's 3 for $5.00. They are crispy on the outside, chewy inside and the lighrly sweeten Red bean filling makes it perfectly delicious! Don't worry if they get cold, you can warm them back up in the toaster oven! t's a small supermarket with limited selection but it's ok since it's close by my house and great for picking up last minute items. What I like here is the prepared foods. On the right side behind the registers, they have a table full of different kinds of Korean rice cakes. I like the little.ones with sesame inside. During the afternoon on a weekday or weekend, don't even think about parking in their lot. It gets PACKED since it's shared with the other stores and restaurants. You can also park off of Springfield or Horace Harding. You can even drive around to find parking on the side streets if you have the time. New Mart is a very small compared to H&Y, HMart, Assi.. I don't care though. Whenever I'm in the area and I'm starving, I'll go in and pick up (a lot of) snacks and ramen (or a box of them since it's cheaper). I just keep them in my car and eat them when I'm hungry or on my lunch break at work. They don't have a large selection of stuff but I found what I needed. I didn't have any problems with the employees here and the lady working the register was very sweet. It's only a few blocks from QCC and Cardozo. It's conveniently located off the 495E. read more

Parking lot access that allow entrance from both sides of the store. That little fish treat with red bean filling is also a delight. Met the owner. We've shopped here for years but enough is enough. We went in to ask about a simple discrepancy in a receipt and were berated by their shift manager, who called my mom a (piece of) shit who's accusing them of stealing (we made no such accusation ever). The lack of professionalism is astounding, and to scream at long time customers in front of the entire store was shocking, to say the least. We've shopped here for years despite the incredibly unfair prices and the fact that they'll sell items past the expiration date just to support our fellow Koreans in the community, only to be told we're not customers, just "shit." You can find better selections and prices just down the road at Food Bizarre or H-Mart a bit further out the other way. I see some reviews about the red bean ajusshi. This is my local go to Korean supermarket when buying groceries. The place is decently sized and has decent amount of Korean vegetables and fruit. There is always a lady selling Soondae (blood pork sausage) and it's pretty good. They sell portion sizes of small or large. The staff are friendly and if you shop here often, make sure to sign up for their rewards that you can use later on. read more

A man was behind me a min after and they started talking Korean. He looked at me and looked at the guy behind me and then asked me to wait 5 mins. I asked why I have to wait when I'm here first. It's not as big as the other huge Korean supermarket chains, but this place is still very reliable if you ever need something in a hurry and you don't want to go all the way to flushing. I was so happy when this place first opened up and I could just stop by on my walk home. Odd that it took so long for a place like this to even open up in this heavily Asian neighborhood. Anyways, they have a decent ban-chan and meats section, and prices are very comparable to those other corporate conglomerates i.e. h-mart, han-yang. Fruits and veggies are also very fresh, but not as much variety I would say probably due to lack of space. But they always have the requisite authentic Korean stuff, such as persimmon, asian melons, korean red peppers, stuff like that =) Also, near the cashier counters they also have packaged dduk (rice cakes), kim-bap and other conveniently packaged lunchtime snacks, including bibimbap! read more

When Qmart first opened I wasn't sure they were going to make it but happily, they seem to be thriving. It is really convenient to pick up a thing or two w/o fighting the crowds at hmart or hanyang or assi. As the other reviewer already stated, the selection isn't as good as the big guys but Qmart is much smaller. They seem to carry a good selection of non-asian foodstuffs too though I'm not sure since I never buy that stuff here. the 40lb bags of rice and such staples cost more than the big guys also but thats the price of convenience. Do keep an eye out for the rice cakes and things by the register. One time I got it and it was spoiled. When I called a few mins after getting home they apologized and said i could get a refund or exchange. i did so the next morning without a problem/attitude. read more

My choices are to drive to Hmart in Douglaston or on Francis Lewis or walk here and pay a premium.....and that is exactly what I do. I often get marinated spicy pork and the beef and radish soup. It is usually pretty good. The pork can be a little too sweet sometimes but the soup is always good, its not homemade but I don't have time for that. The other items such as the vegetables are fresh but you pat for it. Small bag of kimchi dumplings is 12.99 and you could get a bag twice the size for that at Hmart. The fish in the back is also fresh and if you can get things here that you can't get at Fairway. This is all about convenience. read more

Everything here is overpriced but that's the price you pay for "convenience." You will be MOSTLY okay if you follow these two cardinal rules while you shop here. 1 - Never, EVER, and I mean EVER, buy ice cream from here. Not ONCE have I bought an ice cream from this place that was not melted then refrozen. NOT ONCE. If you even slightly enjoy ice cream in any fashion whatsoever, you'll know that refrozen ice creams taste bad. It's just not worth it. Especially for the ridiculous price. This has been true even in Winter. The fact that I've given them so many chances on multiple occasion but they all turned out to be bad says a lot about the overall quality of frozen/refrigerated foods here... Never again will I ever buy ice cream here and I will be very wary of buying frozen foods from here... You have been warned. 2 - Always check food quality/expiration date if the item is on sale. This is friggin sad but they pull this nonsense all the time. They'll sell milk that's set to expire in a few days for 30% less or w/e. It is NOT WORTH IT. Especially when you remember rule #1 and more likely than not, that milk's probably been sitting outside along with the ice creams that were melting before being refrigerated. And I'm talking about ultra pasteurized milk here. Do you know the shelf-life of ultra pasteurized milk? If done right, they are supposed to last up to a year before going back (as long as it's sealed). Just what in the world do they do with their milk that everything they're selling is just few weeks off from going bad? Same with chips. If they are on sale, most likely they are going stale. The quality of everything here is not that great unless it's canned stuff and from my two rules above you can see why. The place blows. It just isn't worth it most of the time... read more

While their products are good, the problem is how tiny this store is and I blame the management. The aisles are small, the check-out lines are small. Even on a normal day, it's always crowded and there's about three people brushing past each other, saying "Excuse me" in every aisle. On a busy day, or a day before a blizzard, it's almost impossible to shop here and the check-out lines are congested. They really should widen up the aisles and have a larger staff of cashiers to manage larger crowds. read more

This place is decent but too small for grocery shopping. It lacks variety of veggies and fruits compared to han nam chain in NJ. I love their fresh wild fish, but hate their fast foods like bibimbop, sushi, and other Korean foods. One time I got their sushi and it was too warm and mushy. Since this grocery is very small there are a lot of products close to expiration date and there isn't a lot of variety. This store is good for quick 3 min shopping but I would not go here for 30 min grocery shopping. The Korean fast food is terrible, but they have a good bakery section. Overall it is an OK market but I would not not wanna go there for grocery shopping and Korean fast food. There are a lot of foods made in New Mart you have to watch out for because it's very warm and can spoil real quick. read more

This little place is great ! Q Mart is located alongside many stores and shares a decent sized parking lots with other stores. This supermarket might not be big at all but it has what you might need for daily cooking, such as meats, vegetables, sauces, etc. This place is small compared to other supermarkets but let me remind you it is located next to the suburbs and not like a busy populated shopping location like Flushing,NY. The fruits are pretty fresh and they have some awesome deals now and again. This is a Korean Super Market hence most of the workers there are Korean. They are extremely helpful and genuine. One time I apparently picked out a bad cantaloupe, I thought I checked it to be firm but I guess I was not careful. After the cashier rang up the items, the Bagger felt the melon and realized that a good portion of it was soft and told me to go grab another one. I was really thankful. The only bad part about coming here is that they always think I'm Korean so during checkout they always speak Korean to me and it's really awkward. Haha.
