Basket of onigiri on the bottom
    Susan L.

I wish I lived near this wonderful Japanese konbini. Their made fresh daily onigiri are the best I have found anywhere. They have a variety every day near the counter. We always stop on Our way to the airport to have something yummy and filling on our flights. If we lived near by we would purchase the exquisite fish. Great place for all your Japanese food needs

This is really the best Japanese market in the area. They serve very high quality freshly made sushi items for a very reasonable price. I could not be happier having this little gem around the neighborhood. The store is very small but is well stocked. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful.

Omg finally find a Japanese market, although it's small but it got everything I need! No need to go mitzuwa anymore!

    My shopping haul!

Duracell and Energizer, which last longer with so many promises made to us over the years by the manufacturer. I think the older ones lasted longer and they were in smaller packs that now hold twenty or more. I see off brand batteries, Walmart has theirs and Stop and Shop has a off brand that they sell and its close to half the price of the afore mentioned. What happened to the battery checkers of years gone? Even one volt allowed up and can power a little flash of the light or a few more clicks o your remote, You just placed the contacts in correct polarity and squeeze.. I am harping on batteries now not because I am getting back into toys but I had a problem at the my girlfriends house of a kitchen sink. With little interaction I am not a fan of motion activated touchless faucets, when batteries run out, you can not use it like a regular faucet. A kind management man that greeted me very quickly upon my reaching the customer service counter wasted no time to escort me to the proper area and stayed a bit to chat about this situation I found myself in. I have not purchased more than that at this Stop and Shop location, the one in my neighborhood is in a hole and I just do not enjoy shopping subterranean. I hope to return soon and explore the aisles and shop with the same kind of happy customer happiness I just left with.

Shopping has become a high intensity mental workout for me, I used to get hungry when I food…read moreshopped and now I completely lose my appetite and feel a food borne illness slowly creeping into my body as I enter. Before I go to a new grocery market to shop, I am not looking for price comparisons, I don't know exactly what I am looking for, maybe a sale on a mystery pallet liquidation of foods as shopping among people in tight confines is becoming more and more unpleasant. I would roll the dice and see what I get, like a gameshow - the showcase showdown. So I typed into a search "Long Island Grocery Stores" hoping to find some information that would keep me from my new phobias and here is what I got instead. 1. Shootings in the parking lots 2. Workers beating pork against the ground 3. Big stores buying the smaller stores and the accompanied protesters and some weird woman with a bleached blond helmet head that is a psychic(?) I saw someone with a salted and sweet-butter sweatshirt shopping the other day, she was in aisle 3 and breathing really heavy in front of the Redi Whip and talking muffled into her phone, she sounded like a dying saxophone. Being the overworked owner of a new business that focuses on gardening, I look to the produce first - Bell Peppers, 99 cents a pound, broccoli and eggplant the same - but I had to take a peek, just a little peek at the meats and a rumble began in my tummy. Porterhouses, ribs, and brisket will run you $8.99 to $10.99 per pound -- more for what they consider the better stuff - they never show those in their circulars. I talked to a neighbor that I was trying to avoid, she's a loudspeaker chattering whiny little bird but she is nice enough and means well. She saw me and cornered me to tell me about man and god and war and food prices, so i faked a smile and excused myself to get to the checkout line that gave me additional feelings of dread as the lines were long and slow. I took a deep breath and held it, I wondered if I could passout under the bright lights and get away from this experience as quickly as possible. Instead I resorted to steady breathing and went about the overpaying experience.

Sadly the place is just in general struggling to be a supermarket. At times the customers themselves are a little bit odd reminiscent of a Walmart kind of experience. There was one woman in a leopard coat even brought her dog and put it in the basket where people put their food. As she was checking out in front of my life be the cashier was going on on how cute her little dog was so that when I went up to the cashier I said how is it that you allow animals to be put in a basket that we put our food in and she ignored me. So when I asked to speak to the manager she kept her head down and kept ringing me out totally ignoring me so that I had to go to manager myself. Tho he was apologetic it didn't seem like they would change policy anytime soon about animals in the supermarket. This was not a service dog. It used to be a Walbaums and it was not much better it still has the same old floors battered and broken, the deli section is lacking in appetizing offers and the staff has an incredible turnover - so basically the only advantage I see to this place is that it is near my house. Eh... however that's a disadvantage because it's not nearly the kind of supermarket that I like to go to get good wholesome food in a hygienic and friendly surrounding. Update Is it just me or shouldn't food handlers wear a face guard ESPECIALLY when they declare they have a head cold to their customers and talk about their excess mucous while cutting your deli items and SNEEZING. I don't know why I keep giving them a chance every time I come here I cringe...
