    Beet salad, crudo
    Anon X.

The filet and the lamb risotto are amazing. The halibut was alright but not bad; halibut isn't my thing tbf. The Crudo was good. Truffle fries were substantial. DON'T get any of the desserts--the peach sorbet, the coconut panna cotta, the cheesecake thing. Very mid.

Quaint inn with sweeping views of bay. Loved the vegan brunch offering of a lentil tofu scramble. I love having a savory vegan breakfast option thats not too carb heavy. Loved just staring out the stained glass windows at the bay. We returned for dinner another night. The mushroom pastry and beet plate were delicious. The romaneso was beautifully plated but for $30 a plate, I had hoped for some more inspired seasoning and combination. My party just sort of giggled as I ate half a head of roasted broccoli. I found the accompanying mushroom bland and chewy.

I saw this place as one to visit on Orcas! We came here for breakfast. Their menu had a good variety! The ambience of the restaurant was so cute! Really felt like I was in Nantucket, MA or really a place with a white interior overlooking the water. It was really that cute and it's nestled in with the Outlook Inn. I ordered the wild mushroom Benedict with a seasonal fruit side with honey Greek yogurt. The mushrooms were tasty and the hollandaise sauce with truffle oil was exquisite! Very tasty! My buddy got the duck leg confit with waffles! Duck was good and what a combination! We both got fruit plates and it was very refreshing to cleanse the palette with and finish off the meal! Our waitress was patient and kind! Would love to come back here!

New Leaf Cafe is fantastic! The happy hour is definitely worth checking out -- great deals and a perfect excuse to stop by. All the food was excellent, from start to finish, and the service was top-notch.

    Bok choy/mushroom omelet
    Alice L.

The mushroom/bok choy omelet was good, unfortunately the same cannot be said about the service. Had late lunch reservations, upon arrival, no one was around to seat us. Not sure why reservations were needed when there were only 3 occupied tables & no one at the reservation stand. The hostess finally showed up 15 minutes later to seat us. No one to serve us. Flagged someone down who had the bartender wait on us. Took our order, dropped off the food, closed out the check. That's all folks. It was the end of the season, so maybe that's why the staff really could care less about hospitality. The bill was not worth the terrible lack of service & from some of the other reviews, non-service seems to be the norm. Would be nice for this cafe to live up to its name & turn over a new leaf in the service department. One star for the food.

We waited more than 1 hour to receive our food. When we finally asked politely if the food was almost ready with a staff member, they said they'd check and never returned to give us an answer. 10 minutes later, our waitress brought our food. We asked if we could get another round of complimentary bread (for our woes basically) but she said we'd have to make an order. We were disappointed the restaurant didn't take responsibility for either forgetting about our order or not prioritizing us and not communicating with us. If they had just kept us in the loop and notified us about food updates (really any form of speech or communication) I think we wouldn't have felt so wronged. By the time we got our food a second round of diners were eating. We had seniors with us who were very patient but really could have benefited from knowing when they could expect their meal. We would have eaten our snacks in the car while we waited. We were very disappointed in the service. Food was good but not worth going back.

    Arugula salad and pork belly
    Masanori D.

This restaurant is inside Outlook Inn in Eastsound (Orcas Island, WA). It's on the high end side, but the ambiance is relaxed. Their service is friendly and attentive. My girlfriend and I both ordered the branzino, and we shared the pork belly and arugula salad. The branzino tasted very delicious especially the sauce it was served with. It was an entire fish with the head and everything. Since I grew up in Japan eating fish with heads all the time, it didn't bother me but you're warned. Also, there's a lot of bones you have to eat around. I really enjoyed the dressing on the arugula salad. The serving portion of the pork belly (appetizer) was very small: 2 small slices, but it was delicious. If you want fancy dinner on Orcas Island, I think this is the place. You can make a reservation online.

Left to right Grilled shrimp cocktail, Truffle fries, Prickly Persona with gin, Terrance Brewstillery Hazy IPA

Dinner - The restaurant had huge windows that overlook the bay which made dinner great for people watching and seeing the sunset. The host staff was very kind and friendly, even when we entered in the back door to the bar area the hostess walked us to the hostess stand. We made a reservation for right when they opened and basically had the whole place to ourselves. The dining area was fairly quiet. We did sit in the window area near the bar which was a little noisy during happy hour. We had a rotating hazy IPA that started great, but left an unpleasant taste in my mouth the longer I sipped on it. My wife's drink, a Prickly Persona with a shot of gun, was excellent though! The truffle fries were my favorite of the two appetizers, the other being grilled shrimp cocktail. The fries were seasoned perfectly and came in a decent portion! The grilled shrimp was okay, the blackberry cocktail sauce it came with though was pretty one dimensional. The Pasta Ragu and grilled salmon were good and we would both get again. Overall ambiance and service were great! The food was average.

What a gem! This place was cute and staff was great. The food was absolutely delicious. The BLTA was fantastic on great bread. So tasty. The potatoes were amazing. They were so crispy and soft on the inside. My sister got the crab Benedict and said it was possibly the best Benedict she's ever had. The crab was poached in butter and just so amazing. The eggs were cooked perfectly. The bar looked super cute too. I would definitely recommend this place for brunch. I'd love to try it for dinner/drinks if I were ever back on island!

Having made reservations beforehand, we were really excited to try this place out. The servers who greeted us were really nice. The restaurant had a beautiful dark interior that gave off a cozy steakhouse vibe. They even offered to take my coat, how nice of them! Despite the hospitality, the food did not really live up to expectations. I got the birria, and while it was okay, it definitely wasn't worth the price I paid. My girlfriend's scallop crudel was almost as pricey and it did not even fill her up. I believe the bill for our whole meal (including a mocktail) was over $80. This was definitely not worth the price point paid for, considering that we were not fully satisfied with that meal. Regardless, many thanks to the Monti staff for having us.

The chicken liver with summer tomatoes was magnificent, even if they needed an extra slice of sourdough to finish the plate. The star was the roasted pork belly. I've had many in my day but this was the crown jewel of belly's - succulent, tender inside and crispy edges, and the flavor was off the chart delicious. Rigatoni with lamb did not disappoint and pasta was cooked to perfection. Saved room for chocolate mousse and it was excellent and not too sweet. Wine pairings supported the wonderful meal. I look forward to returning and trying all the dishes we didn't select. This place has it over Rosario and Madrona. Your wallet will be lighter but not unreasonably so.
