New Island Pharmacy is definitely a gem in our neighborhood. Truly an outstanding pharmacy. Getting my prescriptions filled here is always a very pleasant experience. Nathan, the pharmacist is aware of everything and always acknowledges customers. I was floored that he knew my name! There is never a wait and I get a text when my prescription is ready. I come here only to get medical devices, such as warm compresses or ice packs; and nutritional supplements when the lines at the major pharmacies are too long. Also the prices here compete with the those of the same items in CVS, Walgreens or even Costco. Today pharmacist/co-owner Nathan answered the questions that I posed of a medical device that I use and of a few nutritional supplements that I contemplated buying from him. He was a pleasure to talk to. The store associate was helpful, too, asking me if there was anything she could help me with. What I especially like about this pharmacy is that it is open on Sundays although only for four hours. Costco Pharmacy, where I usually get my medications filled, is not open that day. The only negative about New Island Pharmacy is that it is quite small, and parking is tight. read more

Update: I went in again to ask for my prescriptions to move back to CVS and they insisted the problem was on my end. I said ok and went home to call my phone company. They as well as Google say it's on the pharmacy end. So here i am not getting messages and they just said not our problem, its yours. They didn't even try to call their IT to look into it. So I'm done.... when I moved from CVS to this independent in 2023 I was super hair with their service. About a year later in went in the toilet! They no longer notify you when you have a refill due. They don't notify you if your doctor sends a prescription and its ready. Went in 3 times recently to cutest this and all I get is ok, but nothing changes. Going in tomorrow to transfer back to CVS. Sadly big business wins when the local guy stops caring about customer service. read more

Every time I have come here the employees have been super helpful in assisting me and have even stayed a smidge later to accommodate picking up medication after a hospital stay. I love that they have a delivery service for medications as well! I would definitely recommend! read more

Very poor experience. I am a new homeowner in the area and unfortunately, I have been using a controlled medication for a very long time for a debilitating disorder. This month I have to leave early on an important trip and I called to request picking up the medication two days early. The woman on the phone offered absolutely no help and spoke to me as if I were a junkie looking for an early fix. I literally said "what am I supposed to do?" Her response was "I don't know, sorry." Go elsewhere with your sensitive requests. Meanwhile, I immediately found a different pharmacy willing to supply me with the additional medication a bit earlier, so I know it's not a question of law. Not true, not only is it alive and well, it lives in the form of New Island Pharmacy and it's owner and head pharmacist, Nathan. Nathan and the crew are excellent, they meet the needs of our community in so many ways. If you are paying out of pocket for your prescription, the team at New Island will go on line looking for coupons of significant value. If you Don't drive or can't drive, no problem they deliver. From Nathan's infectious wit and concern to the teams warm and caring way, one thing is certain; Yes Virginia, the neighborhood pharmacy is alive and well, it resides in Deer Park, and is taking very careful care of its community and patrons. Best Pharmacy Around!!! I had been dealing with CVS for years just because there always has been one close to me. Recently my insurance changed and I can't go to CVS anymore.... my pharmacist from CVS actually recommended New Island Pharmacy. They had all my medication that a lot of the other pharmacies I had called did not have manufacturer wise. I was worried at first because they were a couple of towns over but then I found out they deliver!!! Anytime I have called them about something they are always so Nice and actually talk to me without throwing me off the phone.... you can even talk to the pharmacist without a problem. My Husband and I have used them for couple of months now and they Have Been AMAZING !!! I wish All Pharmacies had the Customer Service Skills and Integrity that this Pharmacy has!!! After many horrible experiences with a "big chain" pharmacy my doctor highly recommended New Island Pharmacy, I'm a skeptic and by then had lost all faith in pharmacists, until I had the pleasure of speaking to Nate, he is everything my doctor said and so much more, very helpful, very knowledgeable , very professional, sincere and genuine just a few attributes you don't find in people these days, he is most certainly a "Patient before profit " pharmacist. Danielle is always so attentive, and never makes me feel like I ask "too many questions " and takes the time to ensure you are well cared for and always respectful, she is truly an asset to Nate's team.
