I have been going here for a couple years, and I love the girls here. Linh is amazing, Maria is great, and the younger girls are so sweet. HOWEVER, Stan is a no go. He is so rude and sassy, will huff and puff if you change your mind or ask to fix something. Basically he is bothered to do the service you're paying for. I actually do not know the tech name or I would list it here. I booked a double pedicure appt for myself & my daughter. My daughter's tech was pleasant. 'Mine was obviously dealing with something. Very abrupt. When I told her (what I tell every tech) that I don't like hard scrubs, she took it personally & started to argue back that she doesn't do this. Okay. Fine. After that, she rushed through & promptly walked away with nothing like "do you like the color?" Just left. She reappeared for payment. I was paying for both pedis so I handed her my punch card. She said I was only entitled to one punch. I explained to her I was in fact paying for 2 & my daughter had no card & I had done this before. She only relented when the other tech told her to comply. I just moved to the area and was excited to have a nail salon so close to my new home. The first time I went Iiked it. I just went for my second time and will NEVER GO AGAIN! I had an acrylic set that I asked to be removed so that I could get a gel manicure on my natural nails. The woman doing my nails first removed my old color then started polishing right over the acrylic, either forgetting my request or hoping that I wouldn't notice. When I reminded her I wanted the acrylics off, it came to light that she clearly had no idea how to remove acrylics- either that or these people just use THE WORST POSSIBLE technique. Instead of soaking them like every single other nail salon I've ever been to, she clipped the ends so that they would chip, then proceeded to take a fresh acrylic nail out which she essentially used to PRY MY ACRYLICS OFF OF MY NATURAL NAILS, CHIP BY CHIP. She dug it in between the acrylic and my natural nails and picked away at the acrylics, pieces flying everywhere including into my hair. If your acrylics have ever peeled back you might be able to imagine how painful this was. Not a single one came off well and it HURT so badly, which I indicated to her NUMEROUS times. Every time I said it hurt she awkwardly laughed. She also kept telling me to relax my fingers!!! I asked multiple times if they could be soaked instead and she just babbled back. They were a complete wreck and I didn't want to have to go somewhere else with that disaster. At this point another nail tech comes over, talking to me like I was born yesterday, saying that the nails were too stuck on to soak???? And that they were turning green underneath so they couldn't soak them. They were NOT AT ALL turning green, not that this matters because no matter what I don't see a reason to painfully pry and scrape and chip off an acrylic set- especially without even attempting to soak them, not even when the client requests the soak to be tried multiple times. I have had acrylics removed on many occasions, some sets much older than this (this set was only about 6 weeks old, acrylic sets generally don't need to be changed until 3-6 months!) and I have NEVER had or seen it done this way. It was barbaric honestly, and the pain was awful but again by this point I just wanted the nails off. The other nail tech comes over again midway through this process and tells me I should do a dip instead of gel because it's less damaging to my nails (probably because she knew this woman was actively in the process of ruining my freaking nail beds). They give me the dip color choices which were limited and I didn't like any. At this point I ask if the dip costs more than the gel (knowing full well that it does and that they purposely conveniently failed to mention that to me) and she tries to skirt around the answer by saying it's a 4 dollar difference. I stare blankly waiting for her to elaborate but she didn't and I had to embarrass myself again to ask "less or more?" and she said "more." So they basically tried to bait and switch me into paying more for a dip. At this point I am fed up and decide I don't even want my nails done anymore- let alone to give these people my money. (By the way, this woman's method of chipping off my acrylics ended up taking over 30 minutes!!!) They charge me $10 for the horrible experience that left me almost in tears from pain and frustration. The nail tech who did my nails also stalked me to the front desk to watch me and make sure I wasn't going to leave without paying. They reluctantly honored the 10% off they offer for writing good reviews because I HAD PREVIOUSLY posted a nice review here, so I paid $9. Right of them to be reluctant about the discount because here's your updated review!!! Will NEVER return. By far the WORST nail salon experience of my life. It was honestly like torture. My nail beds are BRUISED! If I could give 0 stars I would. Girl, bye. read more

This salon is a hit or miss. It really depends who is working that day. I highly recommend Ly. She takes her time and makes sure you are satisfied. This last time I went I got a gel manicure. I had gotten a different nail tech and felt she rushed the whole time. When I got home I could see she didn't cover the gel fully with the clear top coat and some spots needed and extra coat of the color gel polish. Next time I make an appt I'll make sure to ask for the same girl every time. You should leave the same salon fully satisfied each time. This was a big disappointment. read more

Horrible. My friend called during the day and made 2 appointments for us. One at 4:45 for her, as she was getting a full set, and one at 5:15pm for me as I was getting a gel manicure. I showed up at 5:15 on the dot and was told to pick a color. They not only cut a chuck out of my friends finger with the nail file machine, but I had to be the one to say to put antiseptic on her finger, or she would have continued. My friend asked the technician to please stop messing with her finger, the woman did not listen at all. She continued to make it worse to where the bleeding would not stop. It is currently 6:15pm and I have still yet to be seen. They do not honor appointments. We will never be coming back to this place. read more

I have gotten my nails done at several places over the years, but I've never been so loyal to a salon as I've been to New Image. They are roughly 5 minutes from my apartment. That was the main draw. I used to go to a place that was next door to the salon I worked at, but when I left that job, I severed the tie to the nail place also, and went to New Image. Immediately, I knew it was going to be my new place. Everyone was so sweet, prices were reasonable, and the place was immaculate. Did I mention that paying customers get a soda or water, or whatever they want? No? Oh yeah. I never saw that anywhere else. Anyway... I've been coming here for about 4 years now, and I have never felt more welcome. Jenny and Rachael are so terrific; truly nail artists. I'm so picky and they always work with me and make sure my nails are perfect! I've definitely had some "grass is greener, right?" moments in the past four years. I've been to two salons, to which I will NEVER return, and one place which was roughly the same service (although, I had to go back to get my nail fixed 2x in 4 days) but it was more expensive. So unnecessary. One drawback, and I won't deduct any stars for this... They're getting SO BUSY! I will be making appointments from now on. Long story short, I LOVE New Image. First off I came in here with my two girlfriends. Starting off seemed okay but they absolutely did not follow the request my girlfriends asked for. One of them wanted a gel manicure but they gave her dip and charged her more than what she asked for. The other girl wanted a refill on acrylics, but they gave her a new set with dip powder instead of acrylics and polish. I got my eyebrows waxed which was okay but they are uneven; my left eyebrow is higher than my right one. They nail artist totally disregarded all the requests the girls had, and were rude to the customers that walked in. Would not recommend. read more

I have been going to New Image for about a year. I've been wanting to write this review since my first visit. I started because they are open early on Sundays which is rare. And, for a teacher and mother, Sunday mornings are sometimes the only time I can get away. They have the BEST selection of organized colors. I get powder dip but they put the gel and polish color next to it to make matching easier. Most importantly, I don't even make appointments with a certain technician. Every single one has been friendly, accommodating and amazingly talented. They are super sanitary and everyone (including the other customers) are so friendly, you feel like a regular every time. Lastly, they do such a good job with their quality powder, I only have to come back every 3 weeks to keep up with growth. No breakage! It also doesn't hurt that they tend to play Greys Anatomy with captions on the big screens. Keep up the good work to everyone at this salon! read more

I have mixed reviews about this place. Sometimes I love it, and I go home telling EVERYBODY about how great my nails look. For example, I've gotten my nails and toes done here for ALL of my high school dances back in HS, and I love how relaxing it is as well. The atmosphere is very nice. But, other times, I walk out of there wishing I hadn't just spent the $20 to get my nails done. I only ever get acrylic manicures, on occasion (for holidays or just to splurge when I have the extra cash) I will get french or a pedicure. Overall, I think they make your nails look amazing. BUT... the last few times I have been there, they've gotten worse and worse with how much they HURT me with the tools they use. The woman doing my nails the other day cut 3 different fingers, which shouldn't happen anywhere! I have another place that I go to when I stay with my other family members in Medford, they don't charge extra for me to get the coffin shape, but New Image charged me and extra $3 for a cut down AND coffin shape. I somewhat understand the coffin shape, but come on. A cut down is charged? I think that's absurd. I will probably continue to go here, but I don't recommend it for people who take their mani/pedis situations seriously like I do. Sorry, but if I AM spending the money on something like this, I feel as though I deserve to get it done in the right way, and I'm not the only one who feels like this. read more

I went in to get my dip color changed. I was never told it would be a wait and was brought back to have my nails wrapped to remove the color. After over 30 minutes of waiting my fingers were burning. I took them off and the lady had the nerve to scold me for taking them off with out them. After looking at my fingers I noticed it had literally eaten the skin on my finger tips. My fingertips hurt so bad I couldn't handle them touching them and asked them to stop. To make things worse they charged me to have them remove the color and have the skin on my fingertips pealing off. I would give them negative stars if I could and will strongly discourage anyone from going here! read more

While this salon is clean and they do a decent job on your nails, just be advised that they do not honor appointment times UNLESS the salon is empty. More than once I have made an appointment a week in advance because I have limited time to get my nails done. Both times I have made appointments on a Saturday I have arrived on time only to find several clients ahead of me ( some are likely walk-ins) being serviced while I'm told to " wait a few minutes". 30 minutes later I'm still sitting with my feet pruning In the pedicure basin. This place used to be great but has since fallen down hill. I think there might be new owners. I went in today for a pedicure- it was ok, nothing special. The staff had some issues with overbooking and had to apologize to a few customers and had to change who was doing which appointment. Then the staff started literally yelling at each other back and forth for a good ten minutes. The guy working there was screaming at one of the girls and then they just started going back and forth in front of a bunch of customers. It was very awkward and uncomfortable. The guy ended up walking out of work. I will not be going back here to experience a mediocre pedicure at best and an unorganized and unprofessional staff. I'll stick to my regular place. read more

I have been using this salon since I moved to the area 3 years ago. They're getting busier and unfortunately I don't think they know how to manage their schedule. I called ahead for a mani/pedi. When I walked in, it was a while before they addressed me which is unusual. Then they just left me standing there waiting for some direction for 10min. Finally they tell me which pedicure chair to sit in only to leave me sitting there with no service for 30 min. And yes, they did the "someone will be right with you" thing 4 times. I finally requested a towel, wiped my feet down and walked out. My previous two experiences were also not great. My manicure started to chip after 3 days and I had to return the next day to have my pedicure fixed the last time. Three strikes and I'm out! They really need to get it together. read more

I normally won't write reviews unless I'm super unhappy, but I felt the need to write this one because I wanted to prevent someone else from experiencing the same thing I'm going through. I got multiple pedicures from this places before my last. Unfortunately this last pedicure gave me a terrible infection. I had to go to the doctor and was given an antibiotic. I get my nails done here every two weeks and I love the service. The nail salon is very clean and relaxing. The pedicure area is mostly private so you don't feel like people are staring at you. The only thing they do that drives me nuts is they put nascar or sports on the tv sometimes. And that's my only complaint. Everything else is perfect! read more

They don't honor appointments! Be prepared to wait a VERY long time!! Just left after waiting 40 minutes with my feet in water for a pedicure. Can't say this is the first time I've had to wait, but this is the LONGEST time yet! A woman came in about 15 minutes after me, then an employee took her first. When I told her that I have been waiting for 30 minutes (at that time) she said another employee would take me. The other employee got done with her customer about 2 minutes after I was told she would take me. Well...I waited for her to come and saw she was now giving a wax to someone. This was another 10 minutes. I finally pulled my shriveled feet out of the now ice cold water and left in somewhat of a huff. So I have a terrible time growing my nails because I used to bite them and now they usually just chip, split and peel off as soon as I get a little length. A few weeks ago I tried out the dip for my mani instead of the gel and it really, really protected my nails and STAYED ON for about 3 weeks, which is a record for me. Today I went in for a new color and even though the majority of my nails were great and grew- I had a rough week and probably did some damage to 2 nails because I sort of tried to bite them in my anxiousness. Well I was lucky enough to have Minnie and now you wouldn't even know. She literally created the missing chunks of nail out of the dip! I couldn't even believe it! Now my nails look fabulous again and you'd never have guessed that 2 were sculpted out of a little activator and powder. I'm so happy right now so I had to write a review. Everyone there is great, the pedicures are great and the spa pedi I did a few weeks ago was awesome. I've also never made an appointment bc it's difficult with my work and life schedule and I've never been turned away or had to wait very long.
