However, I think she would do well with ANY HAIR. Jen the receptionist is so personable and I am so glad she recommended Maryanne for my hair. This salon uses "pure" products such as Deva Curl (for hair like my own)...no sulfates or ingredients that are unnecessary (such as those that make lather). I received quite an education from Maryanne on products and ways to care for my hair. This is my new salon and Maryanne is my go-to hairdresser :) FANTASTIC!!!!

To all of my ladies out there, this review is important. I visited Lux Wax Studio for the first…read moretime today and I am absolutely thrilled. I wish I could give the owner, Ms. Helena a higher rating than just five stars. I had a less than pleasant experience at my last place, so much so that it has been months since my last wax and I almost stopped going altogether. Sometimes women break one another down rather than lift each other up. Ms. Helena is not one of those women. She is warm, welcoming, kind, sweet and lovely in every way. She will treat you like a human being and there is no judgement here. If you are a plus size woman and are worried about being uncomfortable, don't be. You will be treated with grace and dignity from the moment you step foot in her ultra clean studio. Fast, neat, clean, virtually painless. Feel like a million bucks when you walk out. I live in Marlton, her studio is in Cinnaminson, roughly 35 minutes from my home. Gas is $5 per gallon and I would drive to her studio if she was an hour away, that's how happy I was with my service today. If you have any doubts, let them go. Make an appointment and you will be so happy when you leave. I want to add one more thing; this is a small, female owned business not some huge corporation that forces the waxers to upsell product you already have and packages you don't need. Be comfortable, be at ease, feel great, be happy. Lux Wax Studio, best place for a wax in all of South Jersey.

My daughter liked her haircut by Emma and her services were wonderful. BUT...any business owner or…read moreemployee who has a modicum of professionalism or an ounce of knowledge of how to run a business would not discuss his politics out in the open. It's just bad practice from a business standpoint. So, if the man behind the counter is the owner, I'm severely unimpressed with his business acumen. If he's an employee, he needs to be trained on what views to keep to himself in a place of business because some people may be disgusted by your views. Your political position is irrelevant. It's simply unprofessional to discuss while at work. On the flipside, if this is the type of business where employees are encouraged to share their political views with customers or with fellow employees out in the open, it's not a place that I would like to continue to patronize.

She proceeded to take me to a frigid room, where she asked "what do you want." I told her I was four months postpartum and wanted a massage preferably laying on my side or back, to which she told me "I am not trained to do massages on the side or back" and stated she had the client face down the entire time. Having had massages done for over 20 years, I have never heard of a masseuse who is hired untrained to perform massages unless the client is solely on the back. Nor have I heard of a spa who books massages without specifying that the masseuse may be unable to do a massage at all if you are unable to lie on your stomach after you inform them you are postnatal from a c section. After I told her I guess I would cancel the massage because she kept shrugging stonefaced while telling me "I just can't do it," she promptly left the room and began gossiping with another masseuse down the hall. I literally had to call out after her "can you at least show me the way out?" given the lack of exit signs in Spavia's dark hallway. Caitlin rolled her eyes and sarcastically asked "you are not going to change into your clothes?" and I told her I needed the locker room. She wordlessly showed me the way before rolling her eyes again and stalking off. Please avoid booking with this woman Caitlyn and Spavia in general. Also, Caitlin came to collect me at 12:59pm (though I could hear her chatting with someone in the hallway well before then) so that my 1:00pm appointment time could start ticking away while she led me to the room, did intake, have me get ready, etc. No waiver or paperwork regarding massage goals was done at all, though it is unlikely she would have reviewed it anyway. I would also avoid this Spavia location for safety reasons.
