It is very rare for you to find the same person working at a nail shop for over 20 years. Tina (nails), Kim & Spring (pedi) have been the main three ladies that have kept this shop going. PLEASE READ FULL REVIEW. The shop is located off the freeway and it does not look like your modern shops; however, there is no need to worry. There is a lock on the door and you must be "buzzed" in because there are a lot of solicitors and neighborhood locals that like to stop. New customers are always the individuals that feel unsafe and reference the area as "hood." Walk-ins are welcomed; BUT, everyone KNOWs TO MAKE AN APPOINTMENT. So please don't expect to be waited on immediately. If you make an appointment, it will be rare that the ladies will be behind. It it mainly due to the previous customer running late. The ladies will work nonstop to make sure everyone is taken care of... I've witnessed this on several occasions, especially on weekends and holidays. Most people, including men, will come for pedicures and manicures. Spring & Kim are the BEST and will NOT Rush through your services. I've seen some horrible feet over the years and they put their time in. If you remember the episode of Martin when Myra needed a pedicure yeah it's like that. They will take their time to remove any/ all dead skin from your feet. And that's why I believe so many men come without their wives. Lol, they know to book their own appointments. Tina is the main lady that does nails and her customers will not let anyone else touch their hand but her. Thus, you will be waiting. I love how she takes her time shaping your nails properly and cleaning your cuticles. There have been times when I was not happy (ugly colors I chose) with my nails & Tina took the time to redo without an attitude and additional charge. Overall, you will notice that this shop has very loyal customers. I've been attending this shop w/my grandmother as a kid and I am an middle age adult. And like most customers, I rather come here for good quality service and family laugh. Everyone talks to everyone here. Even if you speak Spanish, the ladies have a little learned from over the years and will make sure you're included in the conversation as well. You won't find many reviews from their regular customers, because most of them are older and really don't turn to Yelp for reviews. So the reviews posted will not be from your 20+ years customers... it's from the NewNews that just googled "nail shops near me" PS. Prices have been the SAME for over $20 years. And they now accept credit cards and Apple Pay. They stuck to cash only due to possibly of ppl using stolen accounts. Hope to meet you there one day. read more

Yes it's a long 1 bc I hardly ever give 1 star reviews LOL Eek! Methinks not is sooo true on this one!! :-( 2 friends & myself decided to just have a girlie kinda day. Nails, shopping, lunch...ya know. All 3 of us have used this nail shop before & we knew to get there pretty early as they can get busy. We arrive & all chairs are full, but we're in no rush at all. They asked which services we wanted & we confirmed all 3 wanted tha works: mani/pedi/eyebrows, etc. We're then told to have a seat & they'd get to us shortly. Again, we knew that meant about a 30 - 45min. wait, which was fine. As we chat it up, time goes by & before ya know it we've been waiting closer to an hour. 2 customers are done & 1 lady walks in, then goes directly to the chair. We're told she had an appointment, ok fine. A few more minutes pass & as my friend gets up to see what's going on, she's asked to sit in the pedi chair. At this point we're thinking ok, now things will get moving & the 2 of us will be next. NOPE! As the 2 of us wait, not 1 but 3 other ladies walk-in & of course they have "appointments". Really? Really? WTF EVER!! We've now been here for like almost 2hrs & I'm just outdone. Not 1 time were we thanked for being patient, told of upcoming appointments, given a true wait time...NOTHING. I'm not one to cause a scene, so I decide I'll let them wrap up my friend's pedi & I'll spend my money elsewhere. The icing on the cake is what happened next. While the 2 of us are up front, my friend calls me from her pedi chair asking WTH was goin on. As I tell her the plans to roll out when she's done, she interupts & starts to get up from the chair. Apparently the entire time sitting in the chair, close to 1hr, the lady had only removed her toe polish. That's all!! My friend attempts to be nice & pay for the little service she did receive. Most folks would've just walked out. It's only then of course we're asked what's going on, where we're going, just another moment, blah blah blah. B to tha dayum S!! Don't worry about it now. Even the customer sitting next to my friend commented on the horrible service. I'd been here before & while it's never just been the 5 star treatment, they would at least tell you to come back later or hey, you're gonna be waiting all day if ya didn't make an appointment. It's as if we weren't even sitting there. I know I'm not their weekly $200 customer, their cash cow. I know my lil $$$ is prob nothing compared to what they rake in, but I'll be dayumed if I spend my hard earned $$ at places that could give a rat's azz about me patronizing their business. read more

I have been coming here for over 15 years. Moved out of state and can't wait to come in every time I come to Houston! They are the best. You need to make an appointment to make sure you are seen. Doors are locked because the area is not in the best location. Better safe than sorry. No credit cards. Only cash or checks. read more

NEVER AGAIN! Soon after I got there, I knew I had made a mistake but it was too late to go somewhere else. I had a very hard time communicating with the ladies just asking for a shellac mani and pedi.... something they probably speak about ALL DAY EVERY DAY. They don't accept credit cards- WHAT?! I had to go to the ATM nwxt door and pay $5.50- there went their tip! I had two ladies doing mani and pedi, both hurting me! They need to take a class on cuticle cutting- it should not be so painful or bloody! I had to tell the mani lady to just please stop! The pedi lady scrubbed the top of my foot with a brush! Why? I think they were mad at me! I have no other explanation. My visit was three days ago and the polish on all of my nails is peeling. Please don't waste your money here. You will not be happy! By the way, they kept the door locked and they looked alarmed every time someone came to the door. Obviously, something happened and this is not a safe place. read more

Its a good place if you want o save a little money.its in a little shopping center off the freeway.I like to use NiNa.The only thing is they don't spend much time on the massage-you have to tell them to do a good one. One thing i like is i can rush in there 5 min.before they close and they don't mind. read more
