Immediatly after wax
Kate A.

Been once before at the suggestion of a friend, and it was good, especially for the price. But my most recent visit resulted in more of my skin being removed than my actual eyebrow. My face is sore, and scabbed, and I actually paid for this. I will be calling to speak to a manager asap.

My "manicure", about 18 hours after leaving the salon.

Worst mani/pedi ever. Nail technicians are unskilled and are not thorough. The girl who painted my nails couldn't have been any older than 13, and it shows. There was polish on my skin and on the flip flops I wore to the salon. And when I asked her to remove it, she got annoyed. Additionally, if the polish they used on my nails is any indication, they dilute their products (see photo). The massage chair is great, but that was really the only positive about this place. I've had plenty of great $25 mani/pedis in Philly, so the "you get what you pay for" adage is a bunch of crap. This is definitely a place to avoid.

Bad gel mani! Cleaned the polish off my skin but extremely thin and streaky!!!

Excellent service. Big open space. Very comfortable. They only take cash. A lot of different nail services available.

No frills but reliable, friendly and reasonably priced. Never crowded. Not the best selection of colors but convenient enough

I would not recommend this place. The smell inside is horrible and they charged me $15 to just remove gel manicure. I will not go back.

This place can do a decent, quick, no frills mani or pedi. Certainly not a spa destination, but cheap, easy and semi clean.

I don't even want to give it one star. Just go somewhere else. Although the staff is friendly, the quality is poor.

The…read morenail technician, Wendy, did a great job getting my toenails looking fresh after a long winter. The polish held up so well, even after spending several days on the beach. I will definitely be returning here the next time I need a pedicure.

Yesterday I made an appointment for a manicure (I have acrylic on my hands) and a regular pedicure. On the phone the gentleman who answers doesn't speak English very well and apparently did not hear me request services of a manicure although I have been there multiple times and always book a manicure and a pedicure. I sit down and a woman begins working on my nails which I found strange because they always start with my feet- when inquired about it. The gentleman that answers the phone said I never requested a pedicure just a manicure- I told him he must not have heard me because if he checks my file I always get a manicure and a pedicure- he insisted I never requested it- after I ran through the whole conversation. I asked could I be accommodated for a pedicure as I did originally request that and it's my birthday- he said no- and told me I can leave and didn't have to pay- but I showed him my nails weren't done and no one would go out with there nails like this- I reiterated that I didn't mind waiting for a pedicure and he said no again. I want to reiterate that I have been coming to this establishment for years... and I have seen them make accommodations for others- however those others seemed to be well off and white. I am a black woman who lives in the area- I walk there. I know I don't always look like a woman with means- but I have done ok for myself- and didn't deserve this treatment. I am sure if I had a different skin color I would have received a different level of customer service or even an apology. Even after I acknowledged this misunderstanding there was no apology just a shoulder shrug. This was very disappointing and I will never go back there again.

I have been trying different nail techs so I can find one I love and can stick with and I tried a tech I've never had before. When she first started, she immediately grabbed the clippers and I told her I don't want my cuticles or my nails cut, just pushed back and filed. I was on the phone (which is my own fault), when she was responding and saying she wanted to even them out. I told her I just wanted them filed and I don't mind if they're not the same length. They're close enough. She still was saying they should be cut and was saying "what about these? Just a little to even out and then file?"And pointing to my different fingers, to which I just ultimately said "okay whatever you say I guess, I trust you". Which was entirely my mistake. I should have stood my ground but I didn't want to be difficult or make a scene. She cut all of my nails SIGNIFICANTLY shorter than I was expecting to "even them out". For reference, I have been working on growing my nails out for the past 8 weeks so I could have long nails for Thanksgiving and decided last minute to treat myself to a manicure because to try to avoid biting my nails due to stress. It only got worse. After she had already cut them, much lower than I was okay with, she then filed them into square after I told her to keep the natural shape and that I didn't want them to be shaped in square or round. I just wanted her to follow the natural line of my nails and even out the length. Even then, she made them square and when I asked her to round just the edges because they were way too square and sharp and she made every nail round. She filed so much and so low that my nails are now nubs almost as short as when I bite them. Despite trying not to, I immediately started crying because I could feel the physical discomfort of my nails being shorter than my fingertips for the first time in a long time and she continued on. I don't like to cause scenes, and there was nothing that could be done at that point so it would be pointless to complain so I sat there silently as she continued the manicure. I am so heartbroken, I've been upset ever since I left the nail salon today. Unfortunately nothing can be done and while she did a good job on the actual painting of the nails, she took away months of effort I have made to finally grow my nails out, after I told her what I wanted. While I realize I should have stood my ground, she should have respected what I was asking of her. I also will commend her for fixing one of my nails swiftly and with kindness. However, this experience upset me to the point where I am considering not returning to this salon. I have had my nails done and disliked them before (happens to everyone, nbd) but if someone has long nails and they're telling you not cut them, why are you continuing to push to cut them shorter and then filing so short that there's pain and discomfort? I hope this experience never happens to anyone else who is working as hard as I was to break that habit.
