I haven't been to this nail salon since pre-pandemic. So at least 2-3 years ago. I recently went yesterday as a walk-in around 3:30pm and they didn't start until 1-1.5 hrs later. The wait was very long. I was dissatisfied and disappointed with their services because 1) I called before walking in and asked "Can I come in as a walk-in at this time?" to see if there's a wait time. The guy manicurist lied and said "Not a long wait, just come on in". 2) I received a call from a friend and I was telling her about the situation while the lady manicurist was doing my full set. You know what they did? They eavesdropped (invasion of privacy) and the lady who was doing my nails started yelling at me and said we have a lot of people here that's why I'm just now starting your nails. 3) When I told my friend about them having poor customer service (because any other professional place would say "Apologies for the wait" or "Thank you for your patience") - they actually mocked me while I was on the phone, mimicked me saying "customer service" while laughing, and talked negatively about me in their language. 4) There were so many flies there, I had to keep shooing them away. Ew. However, what I've learned throughout my life, working in healthcare the past 10+ years, and dealing with a lot of different people is that you should never ever stoop down to anyone's level. & just kill 'em with kindness. Because karma is a bitch. Even though they blatantly disrespected me, I still tipped them (15%) and said "thank you" on my way out. But I certainly will do my part by writing reviews and never ever going back to Sunshine Nail Salon again. I'll gladly take my money elsewhere. That's why they lost $30+ because I initially went there for a full set + pedicure but just did the full set alone. I've never been disrespected like this at a nail salon in my entire life. Sunshine Nails Salon is by far my favorite in the area. Yes the pricing is a little higher but they are clearly worth it! Shout out to my girl Susan, she KILLS the game every time. The most RACIST nail salon I ever been too. If your not white they treat you like trash talk about you in their language. I was very disappointed on how I was rush and how I was treated. My nails was so horrible looking and she had the nerve to tell me it would last long looking like that. Then charge me $75 for a Rush job. Then ask me was I Spanish and I'm mix with white and black. How dare her. They don't care about no one if your not white. And they also are unsanitary. God don't like ugly. read more

Terrible. Rushed me through my whole pedicure and stopped to do 3 eyebrow waxes while she was giving me the pedicure. She then cut my cuticle and made if bleed. What made me cringe more was that the instruments didn't seem to come out of autoclave and she used the "community" dremel tool to file over my bleeding cuticle. Yes folks the dremel tool might have my blood on it. Didn't even say sorry! Then almost shredded by ankles off with exfoliating scrubber. Oh and I am pretty sure they use latex gloves, fair warning for anyone allergic. The massage for my "Spa" pedicure was like 2 minutes long. Totally more worth the $55. I have had some good experiences with the seasoned staff. However each time I have gotten a pedicure by one of the younger employees I have been extremely disappointed. My feet look and feel as though I was never there. Even the polish job looks amateurish. I don't think I will be returning to this nail salon. read more

I went in for a pedicure and gentleman that did it was not friendly at all. The other 2 technicians were not friendly either made me feel very uncomfortable.Besides that my pedi chipped the day after I had it done.They were not speaking English so it was uncomfortable. SO RUDE! When I paid, I had the woman's gratuity sitting on top of my wallet underneath my credit card and receipt (all of which were on the table) while I signed my credit card receipt. The lady just snatched her tip from off of my wallet and from under my credit card and receipt. I have had a few bad experiences with Sunshine Nails. The owner always rushes and does not care about the customers. I have walked out of the salon multiple times without having dry nails. I have acrylic nails so the nail polish should NEVER chip or come off. After a few days the nail polish came off and I went back to get them fixed. The picture attached is after I went back and got them fixed. The owner could not find the right color and wanted to charge me $12 for a new color. I had explained this was not the first time this has happened, just the first time I came back to complain. The owner was very dismissive and denied that it was her salon and not another one, being that was the only nail salon I religiously went to, no other salon was involved. Three days later my nail polish came off again. I will not be returning and highly recommend not going if you want a good job and great customer service. read more

I've been coming to this nail salon for a couple months now and each time I leave very happy with my nail results!! The salon is clean, wait time is relatively short, staff is nice! I always walk in with a vision for my nails and they always execute it perfectly! Staff is patient with me despite my suggestions while the manicure is in progress...but what can I say, I'm a girl who knows what she wants! I love showing off my manicure and I receive compliments on them everywhere I go, always making sure to refer this place to all who are local. Also, if for whatever reason something gets chipped or a gem falls off, they've always been willing to fix it for free to make sure it stays throughout the duration. I have been going there for years. They used to have relaxing music on, there was always someone there to greet you, they had the televisions on HGTV or other basic channels and they were muted with the CC so it didn't interfere with the relaxing music. It had been few months since I was able to go back and yesterday was a HUGE disappointment. I went in and noticed that they had the news blasting on the tvs, the air was off and they had all of the doors open. It was very hot. They weren't the same people that used to be there. They just were not as nice. They used to have the ambiance of a much more upscale salon...not anymore. One more huge disappointment was that they had a HUGE sign that said "15% off student discount". I go to present my college ID and they tell me "oh no...we only do that for high school student for prom." No clarification, no apology. This is my go-to manicure/ pedicure place- it is clean, the staff are polite, and it is small enough that you feel you are getting the attention you deserve on your treatment. They have a good selection of OPI polish, magazines to read, and a TV to gaze at as you relax. read more

Love this place. I was going to 2 different places one in Springfield and one in Clifton Heights -I didn't really care for either place but I love getting my nails done, so I would just alternate between the two. I had another one that I went to years ago in Secane that I loved but I hated hearing from the husband and wife complaining about their failed marriage. I went here for a friend's wedding, with the bride and the other bridesmaids. The salon came recommended by the bride-to-be's future mother in law, and seemed like a clean, friendly place. However, my issue came when it was time for my manicure. The nail tech asked me if I wanted gel nails, and I specifically said no....having never had gel nails, I had no idea what they were like, but assumed they cost more and I didn't want to spend the extra money. The tech went ahead and put the gel nails on me anyways, and charged me for it, after I had said I didn't want them. This place is a rip off and they do anything to get extra money out of you. The nail polish only lasted about a week, so I ended up having to remove it, but the gel nails stayed on, which looked completely ridiculous and felt uncomfortable on my nails. The gel ended up making my nails really thin, and I had to clip my nails down really short and start over. Even now over a month later, some of my nails are still damaged and there are marks on them from the gel. This place provided a service I specifically stated I did not want, charged me for a service I said "No" to when asked, and because of the unwanted service, my nails got messed up in the process.
