Today was my first time at Artisan Nails. I had my gel mani done by Mindy and am generally satisfied with the results. She asked how I preferred the shape and length of my nails as well as if I wanted a third coat of polish. The only thing I wish she would have done differently is fully cover my nails with the polish - there is the tiniest bit of each nail that's not covered at the bottom. Not the biggest of deals though bc I love the shape and color. I will most likely be returning here! :) read more

I walked in asked how long before I could get a mani pedi she said 20 minutes...I said I'll be back...went to Rita's for a slushie...came right back...was assigned a girl (a little heavy, she didn't say her name--couldn't see the name tag either). This girl barely touched my feet, skipped 2 toes on each foot...I asked what kinda service was it because it couldn't be a pedicure when you aren't servicing ALL THE TOES...never again...disgraceful. read more

I've been going here for YEARS and unfortunately after tonight (said this the last few times) I won't be going back. The nail tech was rushing, didn't ask me what shape I wanted, was extremely rough while filing and didn't cut off excess cuticle. The nails are super thick and uneven; one side is super thick and one side is super thin. And the width of the nails are wider than my actual fingers and thumbs, When 2 other girls came in for full sets, she said she was almost done when she had just glued my tips on...meaning she's going to rush through this one. I give 2 stars because they were great for years until these last 6 months. I was also overcharged for my nails tonight and wasn't told the cost before I gave my card I thought I knew what the price was going to be and it didn't match the price boards in the salon. I've given them one too many chances, I can barely even type this review with how wide my nails are lol. I hope this review helps someone. Take care! read more

Went in for a full set of acrylics and gel. The staff is very friendly. Was attended to immediately. She had to remove two nails that I had left that were done at another salan and it hurt! She used a tip to lodge it under the nail that was glued to my natural nail and popped it off. I could've ripped my own nail off too. So she started my set. The length she cut them was as I asked. But she was rough. I kept feeling the burn from the dremel. I kept telling her she was hurting me. She'd pull back for a while but then starting filing too hard. At that point I was like this is almost over. I asked for a design. She gelled my nails and started lotioning and massaging my hands. In my head I was like where are my designs??? Just whatever ... I wanted to be out of there. One day later I had weird pin pricks in the gel. Less the a week later the gel looked bad. A week later the acrylics were lifting. I guess this is what I deserve for paying only $42. The convenience of this location is NOT worth it!!! read more

Well it took me over 2 hours to get a dipped powder manicure and regular pedicure. I arrived on time to my appointment, waited 20 mins before I got taken back, then another 20 mins of my feet just being in the hot water sitting in the pedicure chair. They were way too understaffed, bouncing from me to other clients. They scrubbed my feet so hard with a brush it made my skin raw. I left with my skin peeling all on the edges of my feet (as you can see on my pinky toe as well). For the dipped powder manicure, they didn't clean my cuticles or even push them back. Just put the powder on very unevenly until I said something, which then she kept fixing it. Sad - I won't be going back. read more

Maybe it was just because it was right after work and pretty busy, but when I walked it I immediately got a headache from the fumes. I've been to a number of nail salons and usually have a very pleasant experience, but this was not one of those. I usually don't mind the language barrier, but I can usually figure out what they're trying to say. This woman was nearly impossible to understand, and she probably hasn't been there very long, because she obviously doesn't know how to do a French manicure. She started with a thick base coat, followed by two thick coats of some peach color, a thin, sloppy white line and a thick top coat. I was under the hand dryers for an entire drying cycle (about 10-15 minutes?) and she came over and put another thick top coat on while I was sitting at the drying station, which meant I had to sit there for another drying cycle. I paid and left and promptly discovered that, even after sitting there for two drying cycles my nails weren't even tacky - they were mushy. The top layer was tacky, but NONE of the other four layers were dry and three nails were mushed - one badly enough that I couldn't even mush it back in place, as the tip was mushed off. This morning I discovered that (besides looking completely fake, which defeats the purpose of a French manicure) the peach polish on all of my nails had tiny bubbles in it. I went in for a re-do, since I actually had a French done a week ago and broke a nail. So I know how professionals do it and I know how DIYers do it, and I would not be surprised to find out that she had never done one before. Maybe the other manicurists there do a better job, but I have no desire to find out, not even if I made a stink and got them to re-do it for free. read more

I have been getting my nails done here for about a year. The staff knows me by name and always gives me excellent service. I can be pretty rough with my nails and they are always very accommodating and fix my broken nails at no charge! They also introduced me to dip powder manicures and it's been life changing! They last way longer and look beautiful. Plus they keep a large array of colors. Last but not least, they are open late every day of the week which is awesome for a busy schedule! Went here many years ago when it first opened and was happy with work. Needed a refill on Tuesday and decided to try them again. Still a great place to go to. It's not fancy, but cutely decorated in that nail salon type fashion. Clean. Soothing music playing. A little congested as they have a lot of pedi stations and nail stations packed into a small area. This is NOT a spa. You will not be pampered in that way with drinks and massages. Prices are reasonable. Lots of nail colors and gel colors to pick from. Had a great refill with gel color done. Was completed in under an hour. The girl who did my nails was very efficient and did a great job and fixed my nails the way I wanted them shaped. The work done in this nail salon is amateur at best. I bought my mother here and both of our nail jobs were rushed and terrible. They attempted to over charge us for services and when corrected became very belligerent and rude. My mother was actually pushed down in her seat and had to tell the nail tech not to touch her in that manner. The owner agreed that the nail tech did a terrible job and when asked for a refund he wanted to argue in front of customers as to why we should just get the job redone. At this point my mother wanted to leave and getting a refund was like pulling teeth. Finally, he did refund the money by tossing it on the counter. I used to be a very loyal customer at Artisan Nails, but there has always been a lot of turnover of staff and the owner is loathe to turn away any business. That means he stays open after posted hours (good) and overbooks the technicians (bad). The last few times I've been there I had a technician who did a lousy job on my gel manicure and also cut my toenail cuticle so deeply that I was bleeding for a while. I went off for vacation and my gel manicure started peeling three days later. There is a lot of hustle and bustle there. The television is blaring and the owner yells at the technicians and it is not a relaxing atmosphere. Never going back again. read more

I've gone here several times over the past 2 years and the quality and service has gone down hill. I showed the nail tech girl a picture of what I wanted. Very easy too. Thin nails with black tips and she did them so chunky and they weren't even smooth. I felt so uncomfortable saying anything bc the entire time she was doing my nails she told me A LOT of personal information that she shouldn't be telling me. I do not know her personally at all. I have tried almost all the nail salons in Conshohocken and finally tried this one. It is tops in the area. Very clean and very open space. Even when it looks its busiest, they are doing everything to help your appointment go smoothly. I get the "gel" manicures and the owner even chips in to help to "soak off" my old manicure. In the mornings, they have the TV on - in the afternoon, good music. I love the fish tank they have, it seems very smoothing! (I don't know why that's relevant, but I really like it!) Good pricing and great service. Happy to find out that my friend had been going there, too and we just went for manicures last Friday together. They have a frequent buyer card so every couple of visits you get a $5 coupon. The owners are friendly. I've had better people than others but can't beat the convenient hours and speedy work. I was a loyal customer. Tracey did a phenomenal job when doing my nails. Tracey has left sadly and I gave the owner a shot. My gel chipped in 1 day and they want to say it's my fault! My pedicure peeled off that night in whole sheets while I was sleeping! Do not believe their 1 week guarantee or they will fix it. I now have 6 coats of gel on my nails. They did not fix it they just put more nail polish on top. I believe the polish was bad! It is a shame that they treated a loyal customer like this. Never in my life have i been to such a disgrace of a a nail salon... my normal place was booked so i tried this place for a fill and a pedicure.. they threw me into a pedicure chair before i could even think twice about my business there, or picking a nail color. The owner handed me a book (which was unsanitary and dirty stack of swatches on cardboard) The unfriendly nail tech did my pedicure quickly and i told the owner id just be getting a pedicure because honestly i was grossed out and i said i didnt have time. The salon clearly hadnt been updated in decades and the chair i was sitting in was caked in filth. He bumrushed me into another seat and said he'd have her do it quickly for me. As i was sitting there another person came in for a pedicure and they sat her right in the same seat and never even washed the basin out! They just ran new water and used the same tools uncleaned!!! I was trying not to be rude but i was very uncomfortable... it was a weird vibe in there and i was skeeved the whole time.. I told myself that was a waste of money and i just simply wouldn't return but now two months later i have nail fungus on my toes, I'm completely mortified!!! I never had this happen anywhere else in my entire life, and they were the last salon to touch my toes. Even though this nail salon may not be as "nice" as some of the others in the area, this place gives the longest lasting manicures. I am not sure what they do differently, whatever they do, it works. I went to another local place because it was nicer on the inside and they massage while you dry, however I was disappointed, my manicure peeled off in 3 days. Great value! Got a mani/pedi for $35. Carmen took her time and did a great job on my small nails. During the pedicure they exfoliate and use an electronic pumice stone on calluses. She also used hot stones to massage. Don't be deterred by its appearance. Ask for Carmen! read more
