She does an amazing job with the waxing. She's always happy to chat, and it's wonderful to get great service (she's a self-described perfectionist, which is... exactly what you want from someone doing facial waxing) from someone you have a wonderful rapport with. On the phone the gentleman who answers doesn't speak English very well and apparently did not hear me request services of a manicure although I have been there multiple times and always book a manicure and a pedicure. I sit down and a woman begins working on my nails which I found strange because they always start with my feet- when inquired about it. The gentleman that answers the phone said I never requested a pedicure just a manicure- I told him he must not have heard me because if he checks my file I always get a manicure and a pedicure- he insisted I never requested it- after I ran through the whole conversation. I asked could I be accommodated for a pedicure as I did originally request that and it's my birthday- he said no- and told me I can leave and didn't have to pay- but I showed him my nails weren't done and no one would go out with there nails like this- I reiterated that I didn't mind waiting for a pedicure and he said no again. I want to reiterate that I have been coming to this establishment for years... and I have seen them make accommodations for others- however those others seemed to be well off and white. I am a black woman who lives in the area- I walk there. I know I don't always look like a woman with means- but I have done ok for myself- and didn't deserve this treatment. I am sure if I had a different skin color I would have received a different level of customer service or even an apology. Even after I acknowledged this misunderstanding there was no apology just a shoulder shrug. This was very disappointing and I will never go back there again.

Luckily I had nothing to fear, because my makeup artist was Emily Aznavourian from Cheekadee, and she turned out to be a hell of a pro as well as a seriously cool lady. After she worked her magic on me, I looked pretty, well, pretty! Emily is the master of the natural, slightly glam look that made me look like me, only better. She also does a brisk business with bridal parties, too, so if you want a more polished, dressed up look, she's your girl. I still pledge my allegiance to the minimal look (Emily also introduced me to my #1 beauty product, Chanel's Inimitable Mascara) but if I ever need to get dolled up, I know exactly who to call.

It was very unprofessional and frankly not worth the money. The only real positive was that Meghan (hair artist) seemed to be good, even helping out with a few items when there was down time!
