He spent probably 3.5 hrs and charged me for little over 2 hours and helped me change my wiring to my compressor for free too! Extremely nice guy and doesn't try to rush anything. He was so nice and took his time to help and answer any question I had. Even though it was past 8pm and he worked all day, i found out he still had a service after mine for a corporate facility which was over an hour away! I was impressed with his patience + time he took with me and was also lucky that his corporate service after didn't require him there at a specific time. He was also really good at talking to my insurance companies and knew how to communicate effectively when I had little to no success. He even offered to help me install my nest thermostat for free when I decided to get a new compressor unit later this year! Also I was low on freon and he charged me to recharge but stated when I decided to get a new compressor he could deduct the recharge cost out as well. By the time he left I had cool air and everything was working as it should! He was pretty much on time and called about 45 mins prior letting me know he be about 15 mins late which was no big deal and great that he called. Brian was honest, helpful, knowledgeable, patient, kind, caring, and everything you would even want or expect! I've never been happier with someone that came to repair something in my home! I had the house built in 1988 and a the furnace the builder installed needed to be replaced 10 years later. My daughter uses them as well now. They are responsive. Their service techs are also very polite, respectful, knowledgeable and professional. I recently tried to clean my drier duct and got the cleaning brush stuck in the duct and found it difficult to find someone who would remove the duct to clear it. So I called McQuade's and the next morning they had a tech remove the duct and clear it. They also cleaned it. I also found their prices to be reasonable.

I am writing this review for Air Clinic BEFORE they performed any work. I will write another review…read morelater (or update this one, whichever works here). You want to consider this an intermediate review, but just imagine how much value I have already received from working with Air Clinic and how impressed I am by their expertise and responsiveness only a great family business can provide. You will not find that anywhere else. I know because I just tried! In three weeks I spent a total of 5+ hours with 6 top companies in my area that do heating and cooling incl. Mitsubishi Diamond mini-split pros for my 3650 sqft house and all of them miserably failed providing an idea of how they work will solve my problem. Now, Air Clinic's approach to problem solving is fundamentally different from other companies I have EVER interacted with in the US. It's not a money-first approach. In most situations, Air Clinic will not ask you about your budget to create a solution for your budget (This is so dumb that solutions are money-driven! I hate those looks in technicians' eyes, like how much you are worth. Not with Air Clinic, though)... In stark contrast to those other companies, Air Clinic's absolute initial focus will be solving your problem. This is why this is a solution-first approach. You will be presented with the best possible options for your situation. This can ONLY be done by someone who is truly on top of things in their field and ONLY after they have spent enough time (hours?) analyzing your particular situation. At the end, YOU will be the one asking yourself what fits your budget. How does that sound? To me, this is the old-school best-quality service! Yesterday was a Friday and I called Arthur around 6 pm and described my HVAC problem to him. He asked if he could come right away. I was more than happy to hear that, because just before the call I was ranting to my family about all these HVAC companies that came to my house and gave me stupid solutions, then followed up with insane estimates. I was out of options. And then a friend of ours gave me Arthur's phone number. Arthur came with a fellow technician Artak from Madison Heights to Farmington Hills at 7:30pm, less than 1.5hrs after my call. This was not even a service call and not an emergency, it was a Friday night. Apparently, I sounded so frustrated, they ran to help me get things out of my head. They are a 24/7 service, by the way... My 1100sqft basement is currently a huge HVAC utility room, and because of that it can also be used as a storage space and that's all. Tens of thousands of dollars were spent by the previous owner and this was the best other companies were able to do. Arthur and Artak spent 2 hours at my house. We beat the problem to death, every detail, every error was discussed, nothing was left without. And only after we felt we were on top of things and a great solution was born for my very, very complicated case, we stopped and sat down to drink some tea and share some laughs and stories. I was so happy and relieved. We decided to move the work to September before the next heating season. I will return here for an update after Air Clinic is done with the implementation of the solution we decided to go with.

He spent 45 minutes installing it and when I asked him how less than an hours worth of work equates to $800 he snarked back "what - do you want me to take longer?" I again stated how expensive it was and that I didn't think it was a fair and he responded "welcome to the world of HVAC" and that "he doesn't charge by the hour". He later went on to state that there was a lot of work he had to do including picking up the part and filling out paperwork to get reimbursed for the motor. I'm sorry, but that's the cost of business. I was willing to accept the fact that he charged 50% higher rate for a diagnosis than my usual HVAC company because I needed help immediately, but he straight up lied about how "labor intensive" this project was. I do not recommend using this company. I wrote a review yesterday to which he defended himself by stating that he spent an hour on the phone with Carrier to order the part - that is a lie. He sat on my couch and called them from my house and my camera shows that he was here a total of one hour for diagnosis and 45 minutes for installation. He lied about being located in Royal Oak to me also - and Jason, before you claim you didn't say that, I have it on video also. This guy is as dishonest as they come.
