First off I'll say there are 2 different types of comic book stores. The ones that are so sterile,…read moreclean and organized that you know there are no deals to be had or hidden gems to be found. There at also the stores that are so packed and disorganized that you couldn't find something to get a deal on if you wanted to. Rubber Chicken Comics perfectly straddles the middle ground of those 2 examples. There are loads of boxes with .50 cent comics, $1.00 comics & $5 comics that are regularly refilled and always have people digging through them. They also have an amazing selection of gently used $5 graphic novels. Besides the boxes that all deserve time to dig though they have a clearly marked and organized section of new weekly comics, a wall of recent back issues for on going series and organized bins of older back issues. Somehow this shop also gets the best "wall books" in the area! From huge key books to rare variants, complete sets to signed books, original art sketch covers to golden age back issues. The wall is ever changing with assorted rarities at amazing prices. In addition to the comics they also have action figures (new and old), statues, vintage toys and games and other assorted collectibles. They offer weekly subscription pull list service and allow you to change on a monthly basis and give a 10-20-% discount based on the number of books on your pull list. They have bags, boards, boxes and other supplies as well. I can't recommend this shop enough there is always a great conversation or debate going on and everyone is welcome from the most seasoned collector to the newest comic fan. There is some thing for everyone here! No intimidating clerks or judgmental "Comicbook guys". Check them out!!

An absolutely first rate selection of graphic novels, as well as a comprehensive inventory of back issues from my own poor childhood And these are getting harder and harder to find (there was a lovely one in my hometown in indiana that is no longer there. Paperback paradise we miss you.) But I found many things of interest here, including some items of purchase When I review most comic books stores, I'm usually talking about the things they don't have versus the things that they do This place had it all !

After all, once a week, I'm at the public library close to this shop, so why not give it a shot? The exterior is really not much to look at. But under the heading of "don't judge a comic book by its cover" (see what I did there?), I ventured forth. In my youth, this would have been an absolute mecca for me. I would have *begged* a parent to take me here and blown the entirety of whatever allowance I had while here. Their selection is fantastic. I intended to buy DD #1 and walk out, but I left with far more because of their incredible selection and my weak willpower. If you're in the area and are a fan of this type of thing, I highly recommend you deal with parking challenges and make your way to this family-run shop

I would always find good books in the back issue bins and even find some decent stuff in the dollar bins. But my last trip here will definitely be my last as it's not worth the drive anymore. I went a few weeks ago and the selection of books was dismal and most of them are in really bad shape yet they still expect 8-15 dollars for some minor keys in the back issues. The place is also a complete mess when it comes to finding anything and the guy at the register is a jerk and shady. They were having a Black Friday sale and and they said no % off on "new" wall books and then proceeded to tell me that books that were in the wall when I came weeks ago were apparently "new" and that I couldn't get the deal they advertised and I drove 45 minutes for. All in all just about this place

It was much closer than the one in Quincy and had a much better selection than Norwood, so it was a no-brainer. While out earlier, a friend and I decided to stop in. We'd both had been wanting to see if there was a change. Plus, we were in the area as we had just had lunch next door. Best decision ever. Kyle is beyond one of the coolest individuals I've come across when dealing with various comicbook stores in my lifetime. I've been collecting since I was 8, and now, having just turned 50, it's needed. Attentive, friendly, and just plain cool. It was definitely needed and refreshing. Thanks to Kyle, I'll be looking forward to shopping again in the near future!!

It's always been super-easy to update my subscription and I love discovering all the pop culture gems when I visit: used records, CDs, DVDs, Disneyana, games, toys, and of course comic books! All at reasonable prices. I love the bins of action figures; you never know who you'll find! Free handicapped parking can be found in the metered lot behind the shop on Chestnut Street. There are also several handicapped spots on Moody Street. Shop is handicapped accessible, though it is a pinch cramped in the back. I've been able to maneuver with a rollator and cane. If you need help navigating or reaching anything, the owner is happy to help.

As a Disney nerd I was very excited to scan their vast amount of Disney collectibles. Statues, pins, books, comics, stuffed animals, die cast cars, you name it they have it. As soon as you walk in you can smell the paper, books and comics from wall to wall. The gentleman that works there was extremely nice and helpful with trying to find certain comics my oldest was looking for. It definitely let me walk down memory lane with some of the old comics they have available. The pricing is reasonable too, if I didn't budge well I'd leave that store with empty pockets but with a treasure trove of goodies.

Friar Tuck himself greeted us at the door today and gave us a quick tour…read more My husband was excited to check out this comic book store, not only because they had back issues that he was looking for in his collection but also the entire store was at least 20% off today! (The prices were a little high to begin with so the sale made them more regular). The display comic books had cool identifiers like the first appearance of Hawkeye, for example. They were valued higher because of these specifics. Even those were 20% off today. My husband's only critique was that some of the long boxes were packed too tight such that he would've had to pull out multiple comic books just to be able to search through the box. He says he would've bought more if there were about 15 fewer issues per long box. Come check it out!

I said Yes and he then gave me their quick spiel. From other reviews it looks like 20% off isn't new and has been a thing for a very long time. I didn't find, in general, their prices to be too bad. A few books maybe but they're smack in the middle of the city in a high tent area and their selection of pretty much everything is great, do slightly higher prices are understandable. Highly suggest a visit for current books, back issues, slabs, and I think lots of gaming stuff as well (I didn't pay attention to their non-comic stuff). It was actually fun for me.

The prices are reasonable and not egregious like some other stores I've been to. There are plenty of lose figures for really good deals and many are complete with their respective accessories. The staff I met were offered to get stuff from way up on the high shelves for me to look at and were patient even when I decided to put things back. I found a vintage Mighty Max figure from 1971 and one staff member helped me figure out what it was via a google lense search. The comic selection is pretty great like there's tons here that you could look for hours and there's also so many other things collectibles to find here So ends the good When I say this place is overpriced I'm not saying by a small amount this place is crazy OVERPRICED asking upwards of 10-15 dollars for non key Batman legends of the dark knight books even tho you can get almost the whole run for 2 dollars a book. The condition of the priced books is also Horrendous! 20$ keys were COVERED in spine ticks but had 60$ price tags on them "uncanny x men 138" for 60 dollars when it has more ticks than a stray dog is highway robbery Lastly they have a HUGE sign outside that clearly states "we buy sell trade comics, games, cards" yet when I asked the guy if he was interested in looked at the books I brought he said "sorry our guy only does business online". So put that on your sign then Just stay away from this place it puts scalpers to shame with its prices of beat up comics
