Left to right: Honey Walnut Shrimp, Happy Family, and Sesame Chicken
Lisa L.

This was our first visit to this restaurant for carryout. The prices are reasonably priced and entrees are served in large portions. We ordered Happy Family (mixed vegetables with shrimp, beef, and chicken) for $11.50, Sesame Chicken for $11.50, and Honey Walnut Shrimp for $13.95. When you spend $25 or more, you get a free appetizer of 2 egg rolls or 10 fried wontons. Rice was cooked soft. Happy Family and Honey Walnut Shrimp were our favorite entrees and would order them again. However, the Sesame Chicken was slightly chewy and stringy. But it was better than other Chinese restaurants which overcooked the chicken that was hard and dry. We don't live in this area, but wished this restaurant was located in our neighborhood where we would come often.

I can't say this was great Chinese food it was at best adequate seemed like it didn't have a lot of flavor. The shrimp lo mein did have a lot of shrimp in it, but lacked vegetables and flavor really. The hot and sour soup was hot and spicy but not sour. it definitely needs some workand the egg drop soup pretty much taste like nothing. I mean in a pinch if you're starving and you wanna have something quick it's not too expensive I guess it's OK but don't kill yourself to go and eat at this place.

Anyone that gives this restaurant lower than 4 stars, is a Karen.... This place rocks. Fast delivery, always hot and fresh. They always provide extra sauces without even asking. I have been going here for years and have never had a bad meal. I usually get sesame chicken: 10/10 Singapore Mei Fun: 10/10 Crab Rangoon: 10/10 Egg drop soup: 8/10

Service was ok. Food was awful. You're better off eating a pack of ramen from the grocery store.

DO NOT COME AND BUY!…read more So, they do not run out before I can buy the almost the best Cantonese BBQ other than home made. The Ying Cantonese BBQ is located in the food court of the Great Wall grocery store. The food court is clean and quiet with plenty of tables. I have been there six times throughout the past year. I have never been there this past year when there was not a line of at least seven people waiting. Expect not to be able to order everything on the menu, especially on the weekends, if you do not get there close to the opening hour, today the crispy pork I bought was the last at 11:30 AM, the past six times I went I missed out twice on a menu item. I understand after my visits why this place has so little reviews on Yelp or Google. People are be selfish. I would not like to not be able to buy what I intended to buy or wait in longer lines if they get even more popular. Especially with the non heritage crowds or locals. The owners are always nice even if you only speak English. I cannot speak for the people growing up eating Cantonese BBQ but the crispy pork I order is always the best. The crispiest skin even after a 45 minute drive and the right amount of saltiness for me. Sweetness and saltiness is subjective to the person eating since seasoning always is but I do not think you will be disappointed. I definitely will always stop here to grab the delicious bbq and other items on the menu. I will have to try the different duck and chicken items next.

Supposedly one of the best Cantonese BBQ spots in the area. We came here twice and both times they…read morehad sold out. Crazy because in LA things rarely get sold out unless theres a special occasion. Anyway, we decided to come here early one day and score on the crispy roast pork. I must say, it was solid. Perfectly crispy skin and the fat rendered nicely. Great ratio of fat and meat. Was it the best I have had? No. But it was great.

I ordered brought in food and started out with the wontons first, swimmin' in something called…read more"hot sesame sauce." Now, I've been around long enough to know that when a Chinese Restaurant warns you a dish is "hot," they are not talkin' about temperature -- they are talkin' about a level of spice that could peel paint off a barn. But I ate 'em anyway, because a man's pride is more delicate than his taste buds. Next up the Mongolian beef -- thin strips of cow that had been cooked with onions, peppers, and enough sauce to baptize a Baptist church twice. I'm not sure what Mongolia has to do with it, but it was tender, sweet, and spicy all at once, like dating a redhead from Alabama. Finally, the hot and sour soup. Now, I don't know who first decided to mix hot and sour together, but it's genius. It's like football and beer -- opposites that were meant to be. One spoonful and you feel both comforted and challenged, like your grandmother telling you she loves you but you need to cut your hair. I cleaned up the left overs feeling a little sweaty, and just humble enough to admit that maybe -- just maybe -- them folks in the kitchen know more about flavor than a boy raised on cornbread and collard greens.

I bought food from here today, and it was a huge letdown. *…read moreThe noodles: They were completely pale and white. The meat tasted like it was just boiled rather than properly stir-fried, lacking that authentic texture and flavor. * The fried rice: It was terrible. The flavor was completely off, and it looked like they just used some cheap yellow coloring to dye it instead of seasoning it properly. It had absolutely no taste. * The chicken: It seemed like it was just parboiled and thrown into the dish at the last second. It was completely bland. I'm sorry to leave a bad review, but I truly hope management improves their cooking techniques. Honestly, nobody would want to eat food prepared this way.

I have been dining here for over a decade and it never disappoints. This place remains the mecca…read morefor dim sum - whether it's to gather with family for a meal, host an event, or even just to grab a quick bite to-go they are good for it all. The service carts come around quickly and the hosts/staff are consistently friendly. My favorite dishes are the shrimp har gow, crab claw balls, roasted duck, the shrimp stuffed eggplant, and egg tarts --probably the best egg tarts in the area. My kids love their baked pork buns to the point they can tell when I buy it from somewhere else lol. We've dined at plenty of other dim sum spots, but this remains as a consistent top contender for me. Note: the ambiance is casual but I've been to many events hosted here and it makes for a great canvas to portray beautiful decor.

Before…read morewe even sat down we were bombarded by servers telling us to order the food with super rude attitudes. Honestly we thought that was funny and didn't mind it. We were like the food must be good lol When we got our food it was pretty cold. Which is weird cause they just opened. During our meal we hear screaming. It was 2 employees yelling at each other. My friends are Vietnamese and were saying that they were yelling about gambling money. It was pretty annoying and I could tell my friends were uncomfortable. But at the end is where it got really uncomfortable and awkward. The food and service was not good. So I tipped 15 percent. I should have tipped nothing but that's not me and I was in the service industry so i understand everyone has a day off. The, I assume manager or owner came up to the table and told me I'm required to tip 18 percent. I said where does it say that? He says on the receipt. I told him that says suggestions not required and that I could give him 0 tip. He proceeds to make a huge scene about the 2 extra bucks I need to pay. I finally cave because my friends were very very uncomfortable. As we leave my friend said the guy was a talking shit in Vietnamese to his employees about us. My recommendation is to go somewhere else. This was the worst restaurant experience I've ever had and all over 2 dollars that they didn't deserve. I see why they have a low yelp review.
