This store is now located in the Oak Brook Shopping Center. Great selection of New Balance shoes. Most of the employees are not well trained and do not offer much guidance/assistance. read more

Beware! if you buy something cash and get a receipt and want to return it with receipt some idiots don't know that if you have receipt you don't need iD to return it. You didn't need your ID when you bought it cash so why would you need it to return it with a receipt in 5 days...will not shop at this messy store again read more

Came in due to some major ankle and knee issues. Heard about the 3D fitting machine. 1) My fit specialist, James Richardson, was fantastic. Very professional, patient, nice and knowledgeable about the shoes and what would fit me the best. 2) The 3D fitting machine did assist James on where to begin and what type of shoes and inserts would be best for me. 3) Walked out with 2 pairs of shoes. Yes, they are pricey, but worth every penny. I felt immediate pain relief the day I bought the shoes, now, 4 days later, the pain in my legs and feet has been reduced from an 8 (scale 1-10) to a 2. I'm no longer limping due to ankle and foot pain. I can't say enough about how great these shoes fit, the service at this location and the fact that I can walk so much better. Paula B. read more

Came in for my first visit to this location and honestly I'm quite disappointed.... I didn't get familiar sooner. Been a loyal Nike customer for 20 years and with age my needs have definitely changed. I'm gonna just go ahead and start with a HUGE shout out to Erika!! Hands down the BEST CUSTOMER SERVICE EXPERIENCE I've ever received while purchasing footwear. Her product knowledge was to the level where my questions were answered before I could even think of or ask them. I appreciate this experience because the discovery questions asked led us to the perfect shoe! Definitely going to recommend NB Oakbrook to everyone even if they don't ask! read more

I have extra wide feet, so the New Balance Store is where I shop for athletic shoes. The staff measures and scans your feet for the perfect fit. They have a treadmill to try out the shoes before you buy them. They have a no hassle return policy. I am currently enjoying my new NB TRNR cross trainers in 4E. These are the perfect for the gym. The NB 624 with the leather upper is good, but my feet would sweat too much. The NB TRNR has a mesh upper, allowing heat to escape. I highly recommend without reservation the NB Store in Oakbrook Terrace, IL. read more

Adam is a rare breed someone who enjoys his job enjoyed that. If you want attention to detail and personalized service come here and have him take care if you. He took his time had me try on a few shoes. Gave his input but still had you make your decision. Great salesman. Will definitely come again. read more

Store is very clean & well stocked. My wife is very particular about shoes & their staff was very quick getting her a pair of black 990's. I appreciated how friendly, helpful & professional both the staff & owner were considering my wife's birthday was just days away. Thanks guys! I ended up buying the 990's for her. Happy wife, happy life. We will definitely come back when we wear out our gym shoes. read more

Love this place. I buy my new shoes and gear here. I love this place because the people who work there are runners not posers. Most of them run marathons and ultras so they really know from experience. They also have a gait analysis machine and treadmill so they can see your pronation type and provide you with recommendations on shoes, arch support, etc. Yes - they are expensive -- I think my last purchase was new pair running pants for winter, new running shoes, and new winter running outwear top - $350 but... it's worth every penny. You buy quality so you make big purchases in the upfront - but then you won't need to repurchase for awhile - other than the shoes (depending on your weekly milage). My experience with this store was exceptional. I was helping my 84-year-old MIL, who is in the midst of cancer treatments, shop for more supportive shoes. She had just finished a radiation treatment so was pretty weak. Ethan had her sit down and proceeded to give her the kindest customer service I have ever witnessed. He was very patient and compassionate for what she was going through all while getting her properly fitted for a shoe that suits her needs. He knows his products and can tailor suggestions to each individual customer. He was a true light during an otherwise dark time. Thank you Ethan! read more

I just went here and had to hold back and only buy 2 pairs of shoes! My friend recommended going here. She told me it's the best as far as getting fitted for shoes. She was right on the money! This place has not only gym shoes, but sandals and leather shoes for women! They also have men's shoes and children's shoes as well as clothing. The selection can be overwhelming. As soon as I walked in the door, I was greeted by a friendly guy. I had no idea what specific shoes I wanted, just that I had hard to fit feet and needed shoes for walking and working out. He picked out a few pairs, measured my feet and helped me get 2 great pairs of shoes. I could have bought some of the cute sandals and their loafers are nice looking too, but you don't want the credit card bill to get too high. This place is located in a strip mall by Bennigans and if you aren't looking for it, you can drive right by it. It's worth the trip! read more

I'm torn, the shoes are great, the service was fine, but I spent more than I thought I would by a large amount. watch out for bait and switch tactics with their mass mail coupons read more

I've shopped here several times over the years for NB shoes that just aren't available elsewhere. Great product and very attentive service - usually. Today I bought shoes and a set of replacement laces in a different color. My total bill was over $200 bucks of which the laces were only about $3. Realized when I swapped them in the shoes at home that I'd been sold the incorrect length, 45" not 54". They're mistake. I called and they said they'd swap them if I dropped in. Really? My time and gas to fix the store's mistake? Why not send them to me to fix the error? I don't go up in that direction very often. Guess I'll just go back to the laces that came with the shoes. I'm not going back to the store!!! read more

I just had the BEST shoe buying experience at New Balance Chicago in OakBrook Terrace.  The manager, Don, took his time with measuring and fitting my feet into the perfect pair of New Balance 990 limited edition black shoes. He also recommended orthotics (which I never realized I needed!) and now my new shoes fit so comfortably!  I've been wearing New Balance shoes for the better part of the past 13 years, and will continue to support the company by buying and wearing their product.   Thanks, Don! read more

I have been buying shoes for myself and my family from this New Balance Store since they opened over a decade ago. I have never had a bad experience there. Matt and Don are both excellent and have been working at the store for years. They are very knowledgeable about all of the shoes. My kids (now adults) and I all have wide feet, and the New Balance Store usually has our exact shoe in stock. The New Balance store also has equipment to analyze your gait and feet for abnormalities. They also have a treadmill. In closing, I highly recommend, without hesitation or reservation, this New Balance Store. I hope that this review is helpful to you. read more

I was lucky enough to have Matt wait on me recently. Despite the fact that I needed to try on multiple pairs of shoes to get just the right fit, he was very patient and only cared that I leave with a pair that I felt comfortable in. Although I live 5 hours away, when in Chicago and needing shoes, I always head to New Balance and ask for Matt. read more

Two Thumbs up for Mat, manager at New Balance Chicago Oak brook Terrace. Mat is truly professional and well informed about the New Balance product line. Mat is all about the "WOW" factor when it comes to sales and customer service. Conversant, easy to communicate with and knowledgeable. read more

Let me start out by saying I am writing this review about a fantastic product and a Great NB Associate by the name of Matt. First of all, four years ago I received a pair of New Balance Walking DSL-2's as a gift from a good friend of mine and was very pleased with this shoe except it was too large. So I went to the Chicago Oakbrook location and met the New Balance Associate, Matt there. I told him that the shoes were too big and he said that he would get the right size for me and sure enough, he found them in my size. Matt told me that the right size fitting shoe would last longer which they did. Matt was so professional and helping for my issue, I felt so at ease that I told him that I would be back and he had a new customer. Well anyway. I still have those shoes and I've been wearing them almost every day for the last four years and they have held up rather well with minimal wear. I have been through water, rain, mud, snow and whatever else I've walked over or through the last four years as well. They still feel comfortable and held up very well. I would recommend New Balance Products to anyone looking for a fantastic product. But best of all is Matt, who cared about me and was Awesome as well as just being a Cool guy. FIVE STARS for you Matt and your product!!! read more

This Oakbrook Terrace New Balance never disappoints! Christian took care of my shoe needs and as usual the end result is a success. I will not shop anywhere else for NB anywhere else!! read more

I religiously buy my New balance shoes, and I only go directly to their stores. As a personal trainer and group exercise instructor, I spend a lot of time in my gym shoes, and teaching kickboxing, boot camp, and working out often takes a lot of wear and tear on my shoes. I have found New balance to give me the best support for my foot. However, I only go directly to their stores and make sure to purchase a more high end model (1004 crosstrainers) which is usually not available elsewhere. I have found their salespeople to be friendly and helpful, and they give me and all of my clients a 10% discount as well on any purchases - how can you beat that? read more

They specialize in finding and stocking the right fit for their customers. I have extra wide feet and very few stores carry my size. They always have my size. I have been getting the same shoe in the same size for 20 years. Recently my foot grew 1/2 size. When I mentioned that the last pair I bought a few months ago were feeling tight so I was only able to wear them a few times, they offered to take them back and make it right. Props to Matt for great customer service. They made me a lifetime customer. read more

The people at New Balance are very helpful. I've bought quite a few pairs of gym shoes here. Recently I was having pain in my knees and hips when I worked out. So I explained it to the guy and he suggested and insert. Worked wonders! Now that's it's time for a new pair I will make my trip to the store. read more

I know, I know it has only been a few days since my last review but hear me out... :) I had a slight issue with the shoes that were sent from another store. I won't bore you with the details because the end result is really what matters. The customer service I received in fixing the issue was unbelievable. The store manager, Matt, offered a solution without hesitation. I can't tell you how much I appreciated his help. Great store and staff! Yes - I still recommend this store. ;) read more

We have purchased many shoes from New Balance in the past, and had recommended them to friends and relatives, too. We went the extra miles to get to a New Balance store because they allowed you to purchase shoes of two different sizes, if your left and right feet don't "match," for a modest upcharge. So, imagine our disappointment when we drove out to Oakbrook today, when we selected the shoes we wanted but were told the the policy about buying two shoes of different sizes had been DISCONTINUED sometime in the last month. (but, oh, they could offer a 25% discount if we chose to buy BOTH different sizes of the same shoe!) Sorry, but we do not have a couple hundred extra dollars floating around that we can waste on buying two pairs of shoes - one of which will be totally useless to us!!! If you, like us, were a steady customer of New Balance because of their catering to customers' needs for two different shoe sizes in the past, maybe this will save you from wasting a trip, as we did. DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME AND GAS GOING TO THE NEW BALANCE STORE ANYMORE! read more

I have shopped at New Balance Oak Brook several times, for myself and for our daughter's over the years, and the service has always been top notch. Don, Matt, and all the other staff there ensure that you are fitted with the proper shoe and insert, if necessary, and you walk out feeling great. This isn't a place where you are told to go look over there and you might find something. You get personalized service and they stand behind what they sell as well. I highly recommend New Balance Oak Brook! read more

Here is another reason why they are worth 5 stars... they just sent me a thank you card for my last shopping visit. Which other gym shoe place does that? read more

I love this store and the salespeople. I thought I might try on sizes and them see if I could get them cheaper elsewhere. (I really needed new shoes a year ago!!) This gentleman was so extremely helpful, knowledgeable, kind and willing to work with me with my challenging feet. I would mention his name, but observing and listening to the other salespeople assisting other customers, I would feel confident working with any salesperson in that store. I have been wearing New Balance shoes for many years due to use of orthotics and other foot challenges. And of course, they carry other reputable brands. Highly recommended!! read more

After receiving a diagnosis for Early Onset Alzheimers, I knew that I had to stop whining about life being unfair & take a more constructive action...in this case resume my weekly running running regimen of 20 miles/week. This keeps me feeling so much better. I've been wearing either Nike or Asics shoes most of my athletic life, but after contracting Plantar Faciitis and getting no help from a foot doctor, I decided to check out the Oak Brook New Balance store. It was clear to me that these guys know more about selecting and fitting athletic shoes than any other store I've ever seen. You get what you pay for at this specialty store, an my first impression was pretty darn good. read more

I'm a big fan of New Balance shoes. Although not close by, I really needed replacement shoes so I drove to Oak Brook Terrace in the summer of 2012. Their customer service was poor. I was disappointed and did not trust their attention to detail and follow up. My personal contact info (I bought shoes previously their) was wrong, product knowledge lacked, promise to order out of stock shoes (I came their because they carry all sizes) never was fulfilled, and my follow up attempt was casually dismissed. I won't be going back because we pay list prices for NB products and the service did not warrant any praise. I found the Rt. 59 Naperville store to be excellent. The Oak Brook Terrace store may of had a bad month but I expect better. read more

Excellent sales staff and service. Very knowledgable, down to earth folks here to help and listen. If it's not in stock, they will make every to effort to get the NB shoe for you. They exceed my expectations every time I shop here. read more

Love the New Balance products as well as this store. However, their customer service seems lacking. I've emailed them three times and asked a simple product question with zero response. It must be nice that business is so good that they don't bother to respond to long-time customers. Many people have commented that customer service is dead here in the USA but unfortunately, that's been my experience lately! read more

Matt and the staff where great, very helpful and ordered what I needed. Would definitely recommend. Thank you

I went in here for the first time the other day and I was impressed with Matt. I was having some plantar fasciitis and calf issues, and Matt spent a good amount of time helping me out. read more

NO WAY! Purchased several pairs of shoes, sandals, socks at this store. A pair of running shoes was defective and tried to return 10 days later. REFUSED! Not only that, but I saw the EXACT SAME PAIR online - YES, online for 44% cheaper! And, this was a newer style. Best thing to do is go there to try on the shoes you like, then get the model number and order online. There are several sites available if you google the model number. This store over-charges due to staff, commission, brick & mortar - but Customer Service is nonexistent! Even from the store managers. SHOP ELSEWHERE. Buyer beware. read more

From the moment I walked into the new balance store the service was on point. Hayley was a professional sales person who knew what she was talking about. She offered my mum and I water, and made us feel at home while she got the shoes I was interested in. Hayley was not pushy but listened to my needs and presented me with the appropriate shoes. I can tell Hayley is all about building relationships with clients rather than trying to sell just to sell. Thank you Hayley read more

I always buy New Balance shoes because they work so well for my feet. So when I bought new shoes and insoles a few months ago, I didn't hesitate to throw out the packaging, the original insoles, and the receipt. A while later I realized that the shoes were really hurting my knee, so I took them back looking for some advice. I assumed I'd have to buy new insoles or maybe new shoes. Matt, the manager, helped me figure out the problem, exchanged them (without me even asking) for a different pair, and refunded the difference of $27. I was stunned! Awesome customer service! Great Service. If you are looking for an athletic shoe, then this is the place to go. They find you the proper shoe size, map out your foot on a machine to see where you have the most pressure, and even let you test it out on a treadmill if you want. Very friendly staff who go above and beyond. The prices aren't that bad either considering most prices of athletic shoes these days. The shoes I got said they were made in the USA, so that also was a plus. read more
