I used to go to the laundromat owned by a Greek guy across the street. Now that's closed, I decided to give this laundromat a try. I have been familiar with the staff here already because I would sometimes use its dry cleaning service located next door. Staff here are friendly and they do a superb job at dry cleaning. Similarly, I've had friendly encounters with the people working at the laundromat too. The laundromat is small and sometimes all the smallest wash machines are occupied, but it's worth the visit for the service and thoughtfulness of the staff. read more

Extremely reliable with friendly service every time I visit. Having a place that takes credit cards and turns around drop-off laundry in 24-48 hours is a godsend. They even get dry cleaning done in a reasonable amount of time, all at competitive rates. After a dry cleaner closed that was closer to my apartment I decided to try New Age. I am extremely particular about the way that my pants fit and the way that my shirts are cleaned/pressed. New Age does a great job making sure both are up to my standards. The alterations that I have had done there have made items that I wouldn't have worn months ago, now commonplace in my wardrobe. Unfortunately I have to update this review to 1 star. The first time it happened, I thought maybe I was going crazy, or maybe it wasn't New Age Cleaners fault. However, it has happened twice now, once with brand new shirts, that they came back with what look like tiny little bleach spots all over them. Additionally they ruined one of my 'dry clean only sweaters'. I wish I didn't have to write this review, because the couple who owns this cleaners are very nice... although when you try to tell them something is not right, their whole demeanor changes. Take away: the quality of care given here is subpar, and bringing any clothes here is taking a gamble. read more

I dropped off 3 items of clothing there for the first time a few weeks ago, after doing a search on yelp on the dry cleaners located very close to me that have convenient hours. I dropped off an expensive long oversized cashmere sweater, a blazer, and a pair of dress pants during the week. I was content in picking it up in a few days. A few days later, I easily picked it up and paid $17 total. The sweater cost about $8 for the dry cleaning. I bring everything home, and put it in my closet, not thinking anything of it. After about two weeks, I pull out my cozy cashmere sweater to wear to work on a cold day and find that it SHRANK ! The sleeves are 4 inches shorter in length and now fits tight (Think Tommy Boy, "Fat Guy in a Little Coat", except I'm 5'1" and petite.) and overall the body of my sweater is about 6 inches shorter in length and fits very snug around my chest/torso. I contacted a friend who has his own dry cleaning facility in the city, and he advised me that the only way a CASHMERE sweater would SHRINK is if they used WATER ! After being informed of this, I called them to complain and try to find out how a cashmere sweater can shrink when I paid for dry cleaning. The woman who picked up the phone kept repeating that she didn't understand me even after I attempted to explain a few times in different ways what had transpired - simply asking "do you use water to wash for dry clean ?!?!?". I will visit after work, with my chinese-speaking boyfriend to see how they will respond and if they will compensate me for it, though I am not holding my breath. Let my experience, be a warning to you. read more

Used them for laundry and tailoring. Fast service, even for tailoring when you need it. Got my friend's dress done in like 2 days. Yup, the guy at the counter and his wife are great. They always greet me by name. They take credit cards and it's cheap. I got my pants hemmed for $10. 10 lbs of laundry is like $7. I've never had a problem with the hours. I live a few blocks away from this place, and while I have tried a few cleaners over the years, no one compares to New Age Cleaners. Here is why: 1) If you live nearby, Tony, the owner, will pick up, drop off and charge you, in even just one day. Holy sense of ease. No more lugging laundry down the street, etc. 2) Attention to detail. They take very good care of my clothes. Clothes that need to be dry cleaned generally arent cheap, and Tony and the crew make sure all stains are removed, everything is pressed and in great condition. 3) Alterations. Price is right, the everything comes out looking great. This is a win win. As long as I live in this hood, I will be using New Age Cleaners. read more

I didn't get to use their full service, but they were there when I needed them. I was going to a wedding one Sunday afternoon, and I fail to realize that I needed to tailor my outfit just a bit. I went to several locations, and they were close or the tailor was not around to help me, EXCEPT for New Age Cleaners, to the Rescue! It came out perfect. I came back a couple of hours, and TA-DA. I am SO happy I brought my pants here to be hemmed today! I bought a new pair of dress pants which, of course were way too long (typical!) and I coincidentally had torn the hem out of another pair of pants earlier in the week with the grace of a drunken rhino dressing one morning (morning person, I am not!) leaving me in dire need of a good, reliable tailor, and fast. Thanks to the yelpers that reviewed New Age before me, you were a great help in my decision making process! I took both pairs of pants in to New Age around 1 p.m. and spoke with the wonderful woman whom I now officially designate as my hero of the week. She asked me if Monday would be okay, to which I explained that I have a really ridiculous schedule and I wouldn't be able to make it back to her before closing time until some time next weekend. Before I could even begin to be discouraged, she told me that she could do a rush job for me and that I could come back between 6 and 7 p.m. and pick them up. I showed up around 6:15, both pairs of pants were already waiting for me. The woman showed me the new hems to make sure I was happy (very!) and only charged me $16 ($10 for the pants that had to be shortened, $6 for the replacement hems). I was only expecting that she would hem the pants, but she actually pressed them and put the pleat back in as well. LOVE her! I will definitely be bringing all of my tailoring and dry cleaning here in the future. read more

Hours: 7am-7:30pm except on Sunday. Watch out--they say "hours are the same almost everyday but Sunday"...so basically they close when they feel like it? I have been going to this place for over four years now and used to be happy and satisfied. However, the place changed hands a little while ago and it's not what it once was. I used to bring clothes for alternations but they have gone downhill; they are less careful and slower. The skill of the new people is not as advanced as the old owners. To be fair, the previous owners were highly professional and quite good with all kinds of alterations. I even trusted some important items to them. As with many places, they still do not charge for replacing buttons. Shop hours are irregular and they rarely open when they claim or stay opened until they are supposed to. This is especially annoying when I am making an effort to get there before they close in the evening. Recently, I left three dresses and a few sweaters for cleaning. I expected to pick them up one night at the laundromat side but they weren't there. Disappointed because I needed those items the next day, I had to go back when they opened at 7. When I arrived, the owner explained that the items weren't there because one of them "still had a stain on it." I was surprised because nothing I left had any marks on them at all. He explained that he was sending that dress back to the factory and I took the other items home. In two days when I came back for the dress that had been sent back, the owner told me that it was waiting for me next door at the laundromat. I went in and picked it up but I took a look to see if there was any evidence of this mysterious stain. When I removed the plastic it was obvious that the dress was ruined. The metal studs on the front yoke were bubbling and scratched (they had some kind of clear coating over the metal). The glue underneath the studs or the varnish on the studs was everywhere on the dress leaving hard whiteness and sometimes hard glossy spots. I was upset that the owner knew it was damaged and he didn't say anything. I went back over to the shop side and complained. The owners were both there and denied any responsibility. The man just kept saying that it was the factory's fault and they he could send it back again. Overall, it was a very bad experience - the owner telling at me that he couldn't do anything. He would not refund me the $7 that it cost to clean it nor would he agree to pay for the dress. At one point the argument escalated to the point that the owner was waving his around around and being visibly agitated with me. I was disappointed and upset but being very reasonable. I will not be returning to New Age cleaners. I have had cleaners lose items or hurt items before but it was always forgiven with an apology, a refund or a replacement fee. I couldn't believe the attitude and argument from the owners. There is another good dry cleaners on that same block and a good person for alterations on 23rd Avenue. read more

I have taken a lot of shirts and pants there in the past for alterations and they always do a great job. Recently I got married and took in the the suit I wore at the wedding. They did a great job with the alterations and the fit was perfection. On top of that, one of the groomsmen arrived from out of town with a shirt that didn't fit. They were able to accommodate on a short notice and the alteration looked great! read more

Owner couple was very friendly, up until they lost item. Male owner became very hostile and insisted it's missing and can't do anything about it. Days later, we spoke to his wife, she searched the back room and find it. Also they always staple tags on the shoulder of the shirts, leaving two holes (most places will staple on the tag by the neck, not right on the shoulders!) They are the only pick up and drop off service, so when we are sick or don't have time we still call them, but we won't trust them with dry cleaning. read more

The guy in the store is so sweet. The prices are appropriate, and they do a great job with my dry cleaning. Before coming here, I went to 2 other dry cleaners, who were expensive and did not do a great job at getting the stains out of the clothes. I am so happy I found this place, and could not be happier with the quality of work. My only problem is that they do not usually pick up the phone and their hours are a little off (sometimes they're closed when they should be open). Besides that, they're great! read more
