Not always the most punctual and might leave you hanging if they're super busy but if you manage expectations and don't leave laundry to the last minute it's always worth it. i've dropped off clothes to be washed here a few times and every single time i get back some items that aren't mine. i just got back a ripped up blanket that wasn't mine. no wonder that load was so expensive. really makes me wonder how much of my things they've given away. don't understand why loads are getting mixed up in the first place. i was also promised a certain pick up time by the owner, but he didn't communicate this to the employees and i had to go on my christmas trip without my fresh clothing. definitely won't drop off laundry here again, but doing it myself here is fine. clean, lots of machines, open late, close by. read more

This place changed owners last May. I miss them terribly. They decided to help take care of a dying mother. I get it. I wanted to give the new ownership a chance. But first they couldn't find my dry cleaning. There have been little things here or there. But last night was the icing on the cake. I paid in advance for delivery when I was told at 10:30 AM that my clothes wouldn't be ready by 7 pm. I always used to be able to drop off on my way to work and pick up on my way home between 630 and 7. So I asked for it to be delivered. Was told first 930. Then 830. When 10 o'clock rolled around I knew it was a lost cause. I picked up my own laundry this evening. Currently in search of a new place. read more

These guys are awesome. The prices are fair, they'll drop off at my building, and they're often quicker than the timeframe they give for a turn around. Probably my favorite feature is the in house tailoring that they offer. I've pretty much revived an entire wardrobe of ill fitting suits and jackets thanks them. If you're doing tailoring, go in on a weekend morning. It's less busy and easier to have everything done. read more

Like in reviews before me, this Laundromat is family owned and every time I go there it's nice to see the people who are friendly and funny. It's a nice atmosphere to do laundry. Really great family-owned business. The woman that works there is so kind and patient. She also acknowledges her regular customers even if she doesn't know your name. Prices are very fair. Dry cleaning is done off-site. The hours are convenient, open weekends and until 8 or 9pm on week nights. She can also get you your clothes the next day if need be. Most importantly, the clothes come back well laundered. I've had olive oil removed from a silk shirt, red wine removed from a good suit and old white sweatshirts renewed to their original bright color. I had my suit cleaned and altered here. I was VERY disappointed with the alterations. I asked them to hem my pants and shorten the sleeves on my jacket. When I picked up my suit the buttons on the jacket sleeve were spaced very unevenly so I asked the woman to fix it and she kindly did. The hem of my pants wasn't cut straight. It's kind of wavy. The person doing the alterations was definitely not detail oriented. I won't have anything altered here again. It also seemed expensive. The total for the cleaning and alterations was $50. I don't have things altered frequently so I don't know if this is reasonable or not but personally I thought it was too much, especially with the sub-par effort. read more

The machines here fine, the help is alright. The crowds here though are terrible and the workers do not handle this well. Waiting for a dryer here on a sunday is deadly. People shove and pull clothes out the second they're done. People. NOT WORKERS. I try to come here on weekdays, when it's calmer. Avoid this place anytime on the weekends. Tip: the machines closer to the workers desk are lighter used and clean/dry clothing a lot better than the ones further towards the entrance. read more

I've been using this laundry mat for years and have had nothing but good experiences. They have always provided great service. Best part is that its family owned and operated. I look forward to dropping off my laundry and catch up with the parents or daughter and talk about the Astoria and the area. I used to live in Astoria before I moved out to Bayside. Olympic Laundromat is like the 7-11 of laundromats. They have everything there clothes wise. Drop off, self service, dry cleaning, alterations, leather cleaning, and amazing customer service. One of the girls that is there almost all the time, always has a smile on her face. The laundromat is clean and unlike other places, bed bug free. They clean every night... the floors, tables, washers, dryers, etc. When I would be busy, I would drop off my laundry and I would get it back the same day. They are a bit pricey but really, if you think about it, outside of Astoria it is even more expensive. Get with it people... good service isn't going to cost $5. Since I moved, I do my laundry in my home. I have a washer and dryer. I still go to Olympic though for my alterationa. Katherine does an amazing job. She is very precise. I had pants altered here and they were done the way I wanted them. My girlfriend had a dress altered here too and she was in love with Katherines ideas and appreciated the advice. Once my laundry did come back all jumbled up but hey, we all have rough days. Dry cleaning prices are a bit up there too but the job is done well and my clothes come back clean. I went to one of these asian places around me and my clothes smelled of chemicals. I still do dry cleaning here and there with Olympic since I frequently visit astoria but my alterations, I do NOT let anyone else alter my items other then Katherine. Her daughter once put a button on my jacket and it was well done. I wish places like this existed outside of Astoria. read more

I've used this place for dry cleaning and drop off laundry service. Clothes are cleaned well and staff is nice. Overall a great experience!
