This is my every day laundromat. Prices are reasonable. Just in case you forget your soap you can buy some there. Which is very handy.

New staff (possibly owner or management also?) super helpful, very polite. Open at the posted hours.

Okay I'm not going to lie. It was my first time ever going to a laundromat. I always grew up with a…read morewasher/dryer at home or in my previous apartment, I had laundry machines in the basement. So it was a bit overwhelming to find out there's different size loads for different prices. One thing that I was disappointed in, was one of the large washers were out of service and there aren't that many large washers to begin with. I must admit the staff was SUPER helpful. The lady helped me with purchasing a new laundry card (I LOVE that they do a laundry card and not silly quarters). The gentleman later helped with explaining to me about their washing and folding services. I believe it was anything less than 10 lbs was $10. Anything more than 10 lbs, is $1/lb. So it took a little getting used to. Having to buy the laundry card, trying to figure out what size load I would need (tried medium at first but it didn't all fit so had to switch to large), and then figuring out the dryer machine (apparently it's $0.25/8 minutes). If you want a longer time with the dryer, you have to remove and re-insert the card (which will add another 8 minutes) and continue taking in and out until your desired time. The lady recommended 40 mins for a regular dryer load.

Review for 6/21. I stopped in not even 10 minutes ago to do laundry. I went to the machine to…read morereload my card, but it took my $5 without acknowledging the bill I inserted. The Mexican lady accused me of not putting any money in and mumbled something under her breath about someone having to look at the camera. Mind you, there are two card reload machines; the second one was not working, either. I've been coming here since I moved to the neighborhood two years ago, and the fact that I was made to feel like a liar by someone who probably is not at all part of our community is troubling. Now I am nervous to put more money in there cos I don't want to be in the same situation again. I need the owner(s) to rectify this situation with me soon.

Lost Sock is an independent family-owned-operated laundromat in Astoria, Queens it is very neat,…read moremodern & clean. Lost Sock first opened in early 2013. I also love that all the machines are brand-new, not leased or refurbished. Every time I go there, I feel that I may run into Archie Bunker or someone famous! My cellphone signal reception on my smartphone works super fast, probably the fastest I ever seen. This is unusual for a laundromat because of all the electromagnetic machines that creates electromagnetic field's. I was lucky enough to meet the owner Nick in 2014. I was curious to find out what his secret was about the cellphone signal being so awesome. Nick was nice enough and told me that "if you look at the ceiling there are repeaters". This is very important for me since the work I do doesn't allow my work smartphone to be able to connect to Wi-Fi. I needed a iPhone charging cable because my battery was dying rapidly. I asked if they have a cable I can borrow w/o hesitation the lady at the register gave me one to use with out a hubcap attached to it, lol. I was there late-night and a gentleman with his small poodle came looking for his wife's wedding ring. The person that was in charge was new so he made a quick phone call & with-in minutes Nicks father brought him his ring which was from the Edwardian Era. Me and my wife own expensive shirts some costing close to $1000. I recently had a newborn baby boy. I choose to use Lost Sock to wash all his laundry as well. I recently relocated to the city last year for work. I bring all of our families laundry to Lost Sock specifically because I don't trust anyone else to handle our laundry needs.

They keep losing my clothes. Absolutely ridiculous. And they don't even tell you which is insaneread more

We used two large washing machines and two large dryers - just so you have an idea. Every other laundromat in Astoria closes at 11pm. This place is centrally located so you think they'd stay open later. At 8:15pm the guy offered me two large dryers which had "Out Of Work" signs. Clearly they were using those for the dropped off laundry. Then he asked when we'd be done because he wanted not only to close on time but to leave. When we were still there at 9pm folding he asked us to speed up our folding or shove it in our bag and leave. After all that we had an almost inherent right to fold. He was on his phone texting impatiently as we rushed to get everything folded. We refolded half our clothes at home. What a jerk! He didn't even offer to help. Suggestions to the owner for improvement. 1. Stay open two hours later. Every other laundromat in this neighborhood stays open until 11pm. You're centrally located so you have a chance to step up your game. 2. Improvements to the back area/yard. There are no seats inside. Close off the garbage with at least a cheap metal or wood barrier. Easy low cost solutions at Home Depot. Get rid of the ugly clutter. Add inexpensive wood benches and a few plants. I felt like I was sitting in a garbage area and was worried about bugs and vermin. It could be really nice and a real asset if done right. 3. Get new staff that are interested in pleasing customers. Even if they have to close late. The attitude of the guy that was there Saturday night was horrible. It ensured that we will never return.

The laundromat refused to take responsibility and I didn't make a big deal out of it, given that I'd been happy for over a year. However, the very next week, a second pair of nice jeans also went 'missing'. Again, they initially refused responsibility. When I pressed the matter, they said that when clothes go missing, the laundromat forces the workers pay it out of their own pockets. After literally seven visits trying to rectify this, they ultimately refunded me only $20, claiming that since the jeans were 'used', and I insisted that the establishment pay and not the workers, they would not refund full price. Because of this, I have taken my business elsewhere. 2 stars instead of 1 as they ultimately did refund $20, although the jeans were much more expensive.

Which looks like something pretty gross if you know what I mean. Probably laundry soap but it is difficult to rinse off. Lately our "clean" laundry has been questionably so. My husbands tshirts still smell like his deodorant and me leggings were covered in hair that was not ours. Ick! In a pinch it'll do but avoid if you can.
