Okay I'm not going to lie. It was my first time ever going to a laundromat. I always grew up with a washer/dryer at home or in my previous apartment, I had laundry machines in the basement. So it was a bit overwhelming to find out there's different size loads for different prices. One thing that I was disappointed in, was one of the large washers were out of service and there aren't that many large washers to begin with. I must admit the staff was SUPER helpful. The lady helped me with purchasing a new laundry card (I LOVE that they do a laundry card and not silly quarters). The gentleman later helped with explaining to me about their washing and folding services. I believe it was anything less than 10 lbs was $10. Anything more than 10 lbs, is $1/lb. So it took a little getting used to. Having to buy the laundry card, trying to figure out what size load I would need (tried medium at first but it didn't all fit so had to switch to large), and then figuring out the dryer machine (apparently it's $0.25/8 minutes). If you want a longer time with the dryer, you have to remove and re-insert the card (which will add another 8 minutes) and continue taking in and out until your desired time. The lady recommended 40 mins for a regular dryer load. read more

while waiting to meet my boys in astoria for breakfast i decided to do my own laundry at the laundry room instead of drop off and pickup.a good way to erase an hour time wait by doing a wash and dry in less then an hour. plenty of modern washer and dryers available, folding tables , sinks , plenty of seating while you wait and two large screen tvs to pass the time waiting .no need to fumble for change as the refill card machine is credit card ready.for less then 10 bucks i did 2 bags and laundry and didnt mind folding at all. i suggest bringing your own detergent as the laundrys do have a good selection but its a little cheaper to bring your own. they also do dry cleaning as well if needed .good place to do your laundry on a quiet sunday morning before breakfast. read more

Rude workers, they don't empty the machines and give you an attitude for asking to empty a machine even when they see you've been waiting for 10+ mins for a machine. Nasty machines with hair in them, not clean and extremely overcrowded. I would go down the block to the other laundromats read more

Update: in the entire 3 years I've lived in Queens and this place has been open, nothing much has changed. It's still fantastic. The staff is super nice and helpful. It's impeccably cleaned daily. And they got wi-fi, so now I hang out here while doing laundry watching Netflix - I mean doing work like I said I would be... Also, small load if $2, medium $3, large $4 and it's $0.25 for 8 minutes in the dryer (and they actually work! So you only usually need 24-32 minutes.) read more

This is not my first bad experience with this place but definitely I'll be the last one. I have lived around the area for 4+ years now and I have been going to this place for good half of those years, intermittently due to bad experiences. I have always asked for my clothes to be separated and washed by color meaning AT LEAST, the black/color clothes from the whites. More than one occasion my white clothes have come stained with that dark film that only happens when you wash them with dark colors, did not make a fuss about it and decided perhaps, next time I need to make myself more clear. Last Sunday we drop off a small bag of laundry and clearly specify we wanted withe separately from darks, we picked it up yesterday and oh surprise! ALL our clothes have not only that dark film, result of being washed with black/dark color clothes BUT THEY ARE STAINED, and I'm talking dots and blobs and very visible stains as if they drop something on the clothes. I had a very nice sweatshirt, souvenir I just got from a trip from Nashville, bright white and now is RUINED!!! I go back and tell the person in charge at the moment showing her the items but obviously she does not know what happen, I don't blame her she was not there but her answer was: "bring it here and I'll try to put something on it but I cannot guarantee it will be cleaned" I asked where to contact the owners or the manager and no answer, there's an email for complains however, I sent an inquiry about a ridiculous charge for dry cleaning and I only wanted a clarification since it seemed they charged me two extra items I never brought, and I am still waiting for their response which I know it will not come. I am definitely NOT coming back and I'll advise everyone to stay away, I usually do laundry three times a week, drop off aside the eventual use of the machines for bed sheets and what not but not anymore; there's another very good laundry down the block, might be a bit further for convenience but it's ten times worth it than gamble how you are going to receive your clothes next wash and then not having the issues addressed correctly. I love this place and it's my go to for my laundry for a couple of years now. Service, machines, prices are great, the staff is attentive and has been super careful during this whole pandemic making me feel safe. I am taking one star away because I am starting to notice mold on the inside rim of all the washers. I hope this is taken care of soon, I really love coming here but not sure how sanitary it is to wash clothes in such conditions. read more

I think it's just common decency to INFORM rather than suddenly close half of your lights. It may work to your benefit but it is unkind to your customers who are also hurrying to finish up before actual closing. After putting my card in the wrong unit, and rejected by the staff my kind request to have the lights on just for me to finish what I'm doing, I just hurriedly placed my clothes and left. It's considered waste that I bought the card, but I'm not even thinking of money wasted. You ask your customers to understand, but I didn't get the understanding when I asked if I can have the light on--I wasn't seeing what I'm doing. It's too unkind. Their scales are weighted to add an additional 5lbs! When I called to schedule a pickup and delivery for my laundry I asked about pricing and was told there was a $1/lb fee (a little bit more than others for 0.85/lb a few blocks away) and was told no charge for pick-up/delivery. So I measure my laundry with my luggage scale (which measures my luggage at the same weight as JFK...every time) and my laundry weighed 7lbs. The next day when they called my bf for delivery they told him it would be $15 because our laundry Was 13 lbs with a $2 charge for detergent!!! My bf went there and asked them to weight it in front of him and sure enough it weight 13 lbs, so he paid the $15 and went home and reweighed the laundry, getting 7lbs with the luggage scale AND with our standing scale! -moral of the story they add ~5lbs to their scale. read more

The place looked very clean. It's very spacious. Machines are less expensive, though slightly smaller than their area competitors (so one isn't really saving any money, especially considering the card you must purchase to use the machines). Definitely the most modern of the three laundromats within a six block radius on that street. However, for someone who lives multiple blocks from them, and would only use this laundry as a backup, having to pay $5 for a card you aren't likely to use repeatedly doesn't fly. Add on to this how: - the card machine doesn't take credit/debit cards - the card machine will only take $5 bills when buying a new card - the register wasn't stocked with said $5 bills - the young female staffer changed out my $20 without informing me of this $5 exception (though I clearly asked for change to get a new card) - the young male staffer informed of the $5 exception as I was trying to load $1 bills into the machine, then turned away when I informed that the register didn't have $5 bills Then the cherry on top: schlepping multiple blocks with 50 lbs of laundry, loading it all into machines, only to have to load it all back into bags, and schlep twice as many blocks to another backup laundry, all of which could have been avoided had the staff greeted a new face, or intervened during multiple opportunities to assist someone who was obviously getting their bearings. I would have been fine going out to get $5 bills, had I been told before loading my clothing, and being given change the staff new I couldn't use. I realize that you're only going to get a certain level of assistance at most laundromats. However, if you're providing a modern laundry geared toward the modern professional, give the level of service for which such a venue calls. read more

This place is great! The machines are new, it's super clean, they have a restroom, TVs, chairs, magazines, outside seating. What more could you want?! Well, I would not want to pay for the card to use the machines first of all. But the prices are reasonable after that. There is a $ bonus if you add $20 value to your card. The absolute best! This is one of the best and cleanest Laundromats in Astoria. They offer to do your laundry for you if you cannot or do not have enough time to do it yourself. The price is about one dollar for each pound of clothing that you drop off. I really like the girls that work there they're always friendly and nice. I brought 2 blazers, 1 cardigan and a dress in for dry cleaning. I was told what the total price would be without a breakdown, only to find out that I was charged for 3 blazers (blazers are more expensive than cardigans). When I questioned the price, the young lady who was checking me out told me that next time I should make sure the price is correct. I explained to her that I was never given a breakdown and therefore wouldn't even be able to do that. She offered no other solution and I felt that I had no choice but to pay the higher price. Best laundromat in my neighborhood. Always clean, friendly staff. For every $20refill card you get en extra $2.....machines work great. Air condioning in the summer and big enough so is never crowded! Also they have a punching card system....10 washes gives you another $3 on your refill card. Can't beat this. read more

I was so excited when this place opened! It's right at the end of my block, perfect for my lethal combination of lazy and busy. I have dropped off laundry here three times and couldn't be happier with the service and the results. The people are super friendly, the joint is clean and bright, and my laundry comes back perfectly folded and smelling lovely. Additionally, the staff have shown dedication to quality work and high standards, as they rewashed some of my clothes when they spied stains that I had overlooked (no additional charge, natch!) and got them looking good as new. I love this place and am so glad it has opened up right around me. Tiana is such a nice young owner who really is thoughtful with how she speaks to her customers. The space is beautiful and airy so it makes doing laundry not a drag. There's a magazine selection, TVs, along with a nice bathroom. They do AWESOME promotions (punch cards, $2 for every $20 you put on your card, along with affordable soaps just in case you don't feel like dragging your butt to Duane Reade). I've compared their machine costs to others around the neighborhood and TLR is actually very competitive despite all these luxurious space + amenities at their location. Worst laundromat in Astoria. I asked the workers a question about one of there signs and she had to biggest attitude. Also another sign said you get a free small wash with a purchase of a new card which is 5 dollars and when I asked the lady said no the sign is wrong. Simply AMAZING ! I left my clothes with them a couple of days ago and when I got home I was really impressed on how neatly it was folded and divided. My clothes truly felt clean. As far as customer service goes, the young girl who took my clothes was very kind and actually took her time to explain pricing. They even have punch cards to get discounts! This is the nicest laundromat you can imagine. It's big, with plenty of (open) machines and spacious aisles. They thoughtfully placed folding tables in their own area so you don't have to maneuver around people who are folding to access the machines. They also thoughtfully installed a couple of sinks. I also like that the machines take a special reloadable card so you don't have to deal with quarters. It's nicely decorated (I mean - it's actually pretty!) and nice and cool inside. I'm typing this as I sit and wait for my laundry, comfortably watching Wheel of Fortune on one of this place's several TVs. And somehow, despite all the perks I just described, this place manages to be cheaper than the one I had been going to for years. I do have to walk a couple of extra blocks to get here (which can be a pain when you're carrying heavy laundry bags), but it's 100% worth it. To the extent that anyone can love a laundromat, I kind of love this place. read more

I live very close by The Laundry Room, and probably visit at least once a week to drop off laundry, and I will periodically use their machines to wash towels or linens. The employees are friendly, and the business itself is extremely clean with working machines. Every time I have dropped off laundry, it is ready within a few hours and they always call to tell you when it is time to pick up. There are a few things that they need to improve upon, however. They only accept cash, which can be a bit of a hassle. It also surprises me that they do not offer wifi as a free service to their customers, given the fact that some people will spend a significant amount of time doing laundry. The thing that probably annoys me the most would be that they do not wrap the clean laundry in plastic before they put it back in the laundry bag. Every other laundromat that I have used in NYC does this, and it makes it easier to unpack the clean laundry when you get it home, not to mention it could be a bit unsanitary (not sure if they wash the bag). My rating would go way up if they just made some minor changes! read more

New to the area , having tried all the local laundromats this one was the best for me , based on convenience and cost, I like the card system , no quarters needed , yes you must buy the card for $5 ,like buying a metro card, but when you load $20 on the card you get a bonus of $2 extra , plus the loyalty promotion gives you $3 on the card after 10 washes so after the math its the most economical , I have not done any drop off ,so I cannot comment on that , it's also clean bright and airy , just an overall pleasant laundromat read more
