Used their drop-off service for several years until I moved away briefly. They did a great job and were friendly. I always tipped them $2, which they entered in their system. After moving back to the neighborhood last year, I dropped off my laundry bag and when I returned to pick it up Ana asked me the tip amount. I replied "One dollar." She gave me a dirty look and changed the amount to $2! I was stunned. Tipping is a favor, not an obligation. Decided that would be my last visit. Here is my final tip: Ana needs to learn the numerical keypad on the computer instead of doing a hunt-and-peck routine. read more

They have reasonable prices, are prompt in getting clothing done and except for a couple of pink items, the occasional sock that hasn't fully dried and being charged extra to separate the whites and colors (isn't that Laundry 101?), I haven't had major issues. I love doing my laundry at Soft Bubbles. I usually order my laundry through delivery.com and usually work with Jack to coordinate pickup. At first I was a bit nervous to pay for wash-and-fold service as I've been scorned from previous laundromats that have irreparably damaged my laundry, but I have to say that this laundromat really handles people's clothes with care. They are super accommodating, very flexible with pickup/drop off times and offer reasonable pricing. I would give this place 5 stars, but am giving them 4-4.5 stars because every now and then, I've noticed some instances where I've received other people's laundry items in my laundry bag. Usually it's like a sock or a single accessory, so it's not a huge deal as I understand those items are more prone to get lost when you're dealing with multiple laundry orders. They've got a loyal (as in monthly) customer in me for as long as I live in Astoria. Incredibly professional, courteous, and responsive over the phone and in person during pick-up and delivery. Sometimes if you're lucky, they're able to do a 4 hour turnaround, depending on the day, of course. They're closed on Wednesdays and weekends are obviously busy, so be strategic and plan accordingly. At first I wrestled with the bougie-ness (lol) of the idea of a laundry service. But at approximately $20 per 20 pounds of clothes, and the convenience of not having an entire work day or weekend shot by lugging around clothes to the laundromat for a few blocks (imagine this in the winter or when it's raining) and just sitting there for hours, it really is efficient and an enormous time-saver. Back at my old apartment building with a laundry room in the basement, I would spend $8-10 on my laundry card and at minimum a couple of hours running back and forth every single time. I dreaded laundry day. For such a small price difference, it's absolutely worth it. My clothes come back clean, soft, folded with care, and pleasantly fragrant (not overpowering or chemical-smelling). Can't say enough good things about this business! read more

I just moved to Astoria and discovered Soft Bubbles in my hunt for a wash+fold pickup+delivery service to replace my beloved laundromat in Ridgewood. I found Soft Bubbles on delivery.com and placed an order to try it out. I just moved at the beginning of the month and haven't had a chance to get much laundry done, so I ended up giving them 2 big bags of laundry for pickup between 12-2 and drop off the next day. The person who picked up my laundry was here well within that time frame, and was very nice and courteous! Around 3:40 pm, less than 2-ish hours later, I received a text letting me know my laundry was ready. I told them I was free for delivery any time and they dropped off my laundry promptly. I'm not the pickiest person in the world, but my laundry arrived beautifully folded, neatly organized and smelling wonderful. When I unpacked it about 2 hours after receiving it, it was still warm from the dryer. After a few months of having our laundry done by Soft Bubbles, I can say that this is by far the best experience I've had with wash & fold laundry spots in the city. The folks here are incredibly professional, friendly, and super quick. I almost always have my bags brought back on the same day they were picked up, which is always a nice surprise, as I haven't been used to such fast service from other places. We get our clothes back neatly folded and packed, smelling fresh and clean! It's not an overwhelming scentl at all, but if you have specific detergent needs, they seem like they'd be able to accommodate any requests! Finally writing this review because I totally mixed up my days and forgot that they would be coming to pick up my bags today and I wasn't prepared, and the guy was really generous about it, even though it was entirely my fault (they even send out an email the night before and a text message before they arrive, both of which I missed-- again, my fault). He said I could just reschedule! I called the laundromat when he left, and the person who picked up was just as friendly and understanding about it, even though--and I feel like I have to stress this-- this was a problem that was entirely my bad. I told them up front that I'd be happy to pay any cancellation or rescheduling fees, but the person on the phone said there wasn't anything like that built in. I told him I'd add an extra tip regardless, so I'm hoping it will make up for my mix-up! Rescheduling was super fast, and they let me reschedule to just 30 minutes after my original time! This was my first time using this laundromat. I ordered through delivery.com. When the clothes came back, I opened up the plastic covering and was almost knocked out by the smell. I'm not sensitive to perfumes or dyes and I had not had any issue at my usual laundromat (who I only skipped this time because I couldn't figure out their online ordering system and I needed pickup/delivery on this occasion). The owner said this is the detergent they use for everyone. He offered to rewash the clothes, but I wanted a refund as I'm now getting these done elsewhere. Huge waste of time and money! Clean, open 7 days a week 7 am - 11 pm, and most importantly, a good value. $2 for front load HE wash, $1 for 32 mins drying so $3 for one wash load. The larger washers are $4 and $4.75 per load. Change machine for quarters and if you need detergent, dryer fabric softener, bleach etc it's $0.75 per box. In the long run cheaper to BYOD but available if you need it. The also can do your laundry for you. Check their website for pricing first 10 lbs and each incremental lbs after. i notice something interesting and useless while in astoria and its the amount of laundromats in the area which is plenty for a small section of queens. no mask no getting your clothes clean , no exceptions. they offer free pick up and delivery, drop off service,(which means the ladies who work here will wash, dry, fold your clothes including your underwears. plenty of washers and dryers for the self service folks who have the time and enjoy watching clothes spin around for 30 minutes or longer. i did the drop off option and i dont mind paying a little more as long as i can pick up my laundry bag the same day. place was empty when i dropped off my bag in the morning and semi filled when i returned to pick up my fresh clean bag of clothes at 6pm. the lady did a good job and i let her keep my bottle of persil laundry detergent as i have plenty at home. giving this laundromat 4.5 stars overall. read more
